Salutations Champions! I made myself a new toon checklist because I got tired of getting to the first EB/AV on a new toon and discovering that I forgot to buy Envenomed Daggers or something similar and I figured others may get some use out of it too. Disclaimer 1: this is all personal preference, there is more you could do if you'd like but this is the stuff that I feel is worth the price for a brand new toon who intends to leveling up organically. (I wouldn't bother with most of this at level 1 if you're powerleveling.) And, of course, skip whatever you goes against you particular playstyle. Disclaimer 2: This will set you up to level through the early levels fairly quickly, if you'd like to spend more time at the low levels or prefere a greater challenge then skip the XP Boosters or Amplifiers. So make your new toon and head over to Pocket D at level 1 (don't forget to grab the exploration badge on the second floor by the table). New toon checklist invite to SG & promote give 30,000,000 inf ---Null the Gull--- Change alignment to Vigilante or Rogue Disable travel power popup tray Disable Group Fly Disable Group TP Set Mystic Fortune preference ---S.T.A.R.T. Replace "find" with the name of your target to pick them out quickly) /macro STUN target_custom_next super (Creates a button that targets Super Stunners. Oh how I despise Super Stunners!) /macro ITF "targetcustomnext Sybil$$targetcustomnext Cryst$$$$targetcustomnext Gen$$targetcustomnext Rom$$targetcustomnext Req" (This creates a button that will target high priority targets in the ITF) /macro Surg target_custom_next alive Surg (This creates a button that will target Surgeons in Cimerora, I tried to include it in the ITF macro but I found it to be more efficient to have it be a seperate button.) --Move new powers to tray and organize trays-- --Log off by base portal-- --Grab an Oro Portal if you see one-- And there ya go, Solo, Duo or in a team you're primed to put a whoopin on some Hellions. With all the advantages I get from following this checklist I set mish diff to +1 right from the get go. The money left after buying everything is enough to buy/upgrade SOs till mid-game where I'm slotting set IOs. Unrelated to checklist low level advise Hope this helps your trust fund babies!

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for but as a temp fix you can make a macro that will consume small inspirations and bind it to a key you use all the time like your targeting key or the W, A, S, D keys. You'd have to specify what inspirations to consume by name (gets around the wakie issue) and it would prioritize what gets used by the order in which you wrote the macro.

I'm probably not doing it "right" but I buy winters, ATOs, and converters with merits. None of that ever gets sold, they go into my builds and then the rest is bought from the AH. I farm a bit to keep the coiffers full and to keep a nice stockpile of purples and PVPs. Many of the most commonly used enhancers get bulk lowball bids that fill with time so stuff like LotGs, Miracles, Steadfasts, Unbreakables, ect don't cost a fortune. An average leveling build will cost me around 50 - 60 million plus 1200 - 1800 merits. Then by the time that toon hits 50 and I'm ready to start another one, I've already replenished all the merits I used. I've played the AH game in the past and I'm just bored with it, as long as I can keep making and setting out new toons without heavily engaging in the AH, I feel like I'm coming out ahead.

I've always pronounced it "Sue" as well and my extensive study of Chinese take out kinda makes me an expert, no big deal.

Well, if you mean same primary and secondary, no. At least not yet. However if you mean using the same armor set multiple time, then very much yes! I will make every combo of Rad Armor Tank! I also have a Rad armor stalker, I have a build ready to go for a Rad armor Brute and the scrapper can't be too far behind. I also have multiple Shield toons across all the ATs that can utilize Shield. I have an Electric/Shield Stalker, Scrapper and Brute. A Fire/Shield Stalker is on deck as soon as I finish up the Rad/Claws tank I'm currently playing. One of the posters above mentioned that it helps speed up the build planning phase, that is so very true! The armor side of the build is mostly worked out so you just have to deal with the attack set and maybe the flavor of the Epic. Though that changes a bit if you bounce between ATs but at least you already know what to aim for. Play a set multiple times and you become intimately familiar with what it needs and how it should be played. I only have 7 Rad Tanks left and I dread the day I finish my last one!

I usually come up with a build before I even make the toon and then I gather all the IOs it'll need before even 1 Outcast is ever "arrested". Those IOs then get slotted as soon as my level allows and the slots become available. I'm not a huge endgame guy so 1-50 is mostly the meat and potatoes of the game for me as well. SOs will get you to the destination but IOs offer a world of difference. Honestly, it's night and day! Those set bonuses are extremely valuable, especially in the earlier levels. Nothing wrong with running SOs, they'll get the job done, but you may be doing yourself a bit of a disservice by eschewing IO sets.

I think you'll be in good shape! Your recharge looks great! The only bit I'm on the fence with is the losing the procced out Blind. It's probably not "make or break" but it adds a ton of damage. I think I'd be inclined to drop the Decimation recharge bonus in favor of the base buff recharge bonus so you could keep the proc damage. Regardless, I think you'll bag your trophy!
-
Oh lol, yeah I guess there are a few options there. Troller was my intention.
-
Sure, the /Dark has a small gap in the PA recharge but it has enough other pets to cover the aggro for a second or 2. edit: The /Rad covers PA without Incarnates though so that may be helpful for your goals. If you go with an Illusion just get damage into your pets and then load up on Recharge. Controller ill rad troller Calpernia rebuild 1.2.mbdController ill Dark troller Countess Gone v3.mbd Yeah DE makes a fair point here, those builds will solo a GM but it ain't fast and you gotta be on your game the whole time. I haven't really found anything else that can combat the crazy regen and take the aggo though. What would you suggest that would be faster, DE?

I start every new toon in Echo: GC! It's a nice small zone. I can street sweep to level 5 very quickly and grab the exploration badges to have a little patrol xp built up before I shoot over to the Hollows. I'd love for it to come back proper but I think it would get changed in some way that I would not enjoy so I'd rather they just leave it alone. It would be nice if they put a trainer in there though! Ironically, back on live when GC was still regular GC, I always spent my early levels in Atlas and ignored GC. Sorry Galaxy, I didn't know what I had until I lost it...

Ill/Rad or Ill/Dark are my go to solo GM killers. Perma PA is a must!
-
That is very clever! Nice! I love that your "time to 50" ranges from 3 days to over 1800 days! Gives me hope for that blaster I made 2 Halloween events ago that I got to 25 and haven't touched since lol

Gotcha, fair nuff'. Yes I've seen those posts but I don't think there is much value in litigating individual conflicts or pointing fingers at other players regardless of what side they land on. A lack of action on the Devs part have created opportunities for these conflicts to arise. I'm certain that was not the intent, but it is the reality we are experiencing. I'd like to see the issue solved at a more inherent level that would prevent these conflicts before they ever begin. Maybe that comes in the form of altering the power, maybe it comes from adding Nuls functionality to numerous other NPCs so one is never locked out of making the change, maybe it's something nobody has ever envisioned yet but the current solution leave quite a bit to be desired.
-
That's a fair point, maybe they have a fix in mind and this will all be moot, fingers crossed! I think the problem with Nul is one of social engineering (apologies if I'm using that term incorrectly). It's like the story of installing a beautiful new walking path on a college campus. It looks great and it's functional but it wasn't getting used because it was placed where the engineer wanted people to walk but not where people wanted to walk so they ended up with an unused walking path and lots of little worn out dirt paths across the lawn. So we could tell everyone that they're using it wrong but it won't change their behavior, it would be far more advantageous to adapt the plan to the behavior of the masses that would see it's use.

Calling out a well known failing, the source of which predates their tenure, doesn't feel disrespectful to me. I do appreciate everything the Devs have done for the game but that doesn't make it okay to ignore the pain points people are experiencing as evidenced by the never ending stream of GF posts and stories of being kicked off a team for using it. Aren't we supposed to "Be excellent to each other"? Kicking, blocking and ignoring seems antithetical to that notion.
-
Folks, stop directing you frustration at each other and direct it where it belongs, the Devs. By failing to act in any meaningful way on this topic the Devs are complicit if fostering a hostile, exclusionary game environment. They should be embarrassed by Nul as it stands as a monument to their greatest failure and they should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to go on for so long. Every new GF thread should be a burr under their saddle. For them to state they will not propagate Nul or allow his functionality to be added to other NPCs without offering any alternative tells me that at this time their "solution" is simply to bury their heads in the sand and let players argue, block, kick, 1 star, or ignore one another. I'm sure we can all extrapolate how that affects the health of the community. I'm way past being annoyed with players over this, it is not their fault for using a power they were offered and it is not the fault of anyone who hasn't selected the option at Null. It is the failure of the Devs to implement a solution that works within the confines of the way people actually play the game. They could make the most functional solution that's ever been devised of, however if people don't use it because it's inconvenient or limited then it is a bad solution. Nul is a bad solution! Devs, you know its a bad solution, it doesn't matter that it was implemented by the live Devs, that just means it's a long standing bad solution. Please dedicate some of the precious volunteer Dev time to finding a better solution. You are the stewards of this game, it is your responsibility to keep it healthy, we are all counting on you to succeed in your charge.
