I love your signature , Psyonico What this team needs is more defenders. It's awesome

In all respect and knowledge about Trick Arrow, and I think it is phenomenal. Again -- I am very sorry to repeat but this point has no refutation or there is no way around it --> The harder and harder the challenge is, the more Nature and Electric Affinity simply leave the rest behind when trying to survive the most extreme of challenges and coming up with the ideal support. No one will do anything while face planting. The harder the content, the more likely death is so very near to everyone in the team. That's the number one thing to address. WE can bring a trick arrow to the team, yes, as long we have make room for ELec Affinity or Nature, or both of them. Then we can include Trick Arrow if there's room. But priority? Elec Affinity and Nature to keep team alive. The tougher the challenges, the more and more Rebirth and medicine pool are no where near sufficient to keep the team alive to debuff or deal damage.
-
In defense to Trick Arrow, and why I think Trick Arrow is the king of debuffs -- Trick arrow has something that no one else has. You know all those resists to debuffs that enemies have ? You know all those resists that purple patch have? Enter ACID ARROW !! The only power in the game in a debuff set that will LOWER THE RESISTANCES TO THE DEBUFFS. It is why in one of my super hard AE challenges, I feature trick arrow enemies. They will melt any team that thinks they are going to make it with a conventional team make up. You have an SR tank that thinks he is immune to defense debuffs ? Enemies with trick arrow will quickly make the defenses of an SR tank , or , to be precise, his resistance to defense debuffs, a trick arrow will kill that, ACID ARROW ! I had the best of the best tankers, even Linea, die on the very first mob. Acid arrow was a huge reason why. It kills the resistances to the debuffs.

Debuffs come second to the the above priority. Yes debuffs are immensely helpful. But no one will dmg nor debuff while dead.

EDITED one more time -- Added the video vs Clamor @ Lvl 25. Dark Miasma / Radiation blast defender. Why ? I was thinking of all the runs we do without incarnates on the ITF, and other hard mode challenges we do in other task forces or trials. I wanted a Defender that could debuff everything or almost everything ( except I was not going to try to aim for -endurance debuffs) So I came up with a Dark Miasma/Radiation defender, which does not need ageless nor will it suffer from endurance issues with constant use. 1. Very strong defense debuffs 2. Resistance debuffs 3. Strong Regen debuffs 4. Damage debuffs 5. To hit debuffs 6. Slows 7. More dmg debuffs 8. Provide a strong AoE heal 9. Provide dmg resistances 10. Provide large area defense And I wanted to make such a defender as super tanky as I can while not sacrificing other details. I wanted to play something not generally seen So the combo arose Dark Miasma and Radiation secondary. This combo is not seen much. I will keep posting in these upcoming days, more videos on it and the build as well. Accomplishments so far with this combo - 1.Solo'd part 2 of the ITF at 54x8 no inspirations 2. Did Part 2 of the ITF , same settings, in a duo with another dark defender. 3. Tanked and stood there close to the pylons in Apex, Hydra phase in sewers, while in a duo with a blaster, we did duo the APEX trial with no inspirations, no temps, 54x8. 4. Market Crash hard mode as seen in the video below. 5. Solo'd task forces at low levels and killed the AVs solo as well. If I remember what else, I will edit the post. Here he is face TANKING THE HYDRA PYLONS of the APEX trial by himself at max settings and NO INSPIRATIONS, NO TEMPS. The build is below --- A few notes about the build. 1. I need high resists to negative energy, energy, smashing, lethal, and some in toxic. 2. I need Soft cap defense to positional damage, in this case range. 3. I need to be independent of Ageless incarnate because this character IS AND WILL be able to run the ITF in small teams WITHOUT INCARNATES and at lvl 44 exempted down). The total amount to endurance recovery is a must. I have fined tuned the build to the point where I can remain busy and still just fine with endurance. 4. I have very good recharge rate while meeting the above requirements. 5. I went with Vigor for the bigger heals, both for me and my pet (if pet is needed). I build with the end in mind and for what I need to do with the build. Poison/Dark blast Very good synergy, potent burst healing, the only burst healing out of all secondaries. To hit buffs to add or stack. The soft controls. Ice is another one for the slows Water for the heal and the AoEs.

Doom, At the highest of highest of AE challenges, which are by far the hardest content of the game, even tougher than AEON, One well built and well played Elec Affinity and one well built and well played Nature, both defenders, and you have a team that's ready and will be extremely hard to kill and along with that, with many buffs, 3 of any of that combo, and you can turn on Netflix and so some other stuff too while you play... TOO easy. the highest levels of 801s and my AE challenges include a strong array of debuffs. The absorbs and the immense healing along with the resists provided, and strong healing over time, make it very hard to kill. Thermal's resists plus healing combo is what makes a strong 3rd place. The only force field that matters in 801s at the highest is the Defender bubbles with PowerBoost, and clarion radial. That alone can help immensely to bring you to the HARD cap, not soft cap, but the hard cap of defenses if done right. That is leaving plenty of room for the defense debuff buffer but adding end drain protection which abound in those challenges. The kin is always welcome to max dmg and debuff the dmg of the enemies in an AoE basis.

I am not going to give you theories. I am not going to talk without having a ton of experience in this subject matter. From experience with all of the sets below, I will tell you the best for this very specific role, and this role only inside one of the toughest 801s or doing my own challenges in AE. The only thing that comes close to Electric Affinity for 801s, Master of Challenges, hard mode, no insps , no deaths... The only other set that can compete is NATURE AFFINITY, and I mean compete in specifically what it does. I am not talking about radios, nor other regular content of the game, which is extremely easy and bores me. For the toughest stuff in the game, Elec Affinity and Nature for this specific Role -- healer/buffer, keeping things alive and buffing. Next in line - Thermal. I have done hundreds of 801s, I am a hard mode afficionado, a real enthusiast for the hard content of the game. I recommend to anyone who has not tried these to do them and do lots of them. They will make you a much better player, increase your skills and sharpen your tactics. If you don't want ELec Affinity, GO NATURE ! This is regardless of the type of tank. The type of tank has no relevance in this discussion. Nature and Elec affinity are the two best supports for a defender to bring for an 801 or even my own challenges which are even harder than 801s. The TOP THREE are Elec Affinity Nature Thermal Then below is EMP Then Pain. Dark Miasma Powerboosted Force Bubbles

I really like that concept of Mind/Dark That just might be what I do next Possibly so
-
As much as whole lot of people think Plant is OP , it falls apart when facing an AV by itself, and when mez resistant (to confuse) is present, it needs something else. Dark/Dark can take on AVs even some very difficult ones. It can take on 7 AVs one by one as I did in the LR SF , 54x8, no inspirations. So, to do a whole task force, Plant cannot do it alone with those settings in place. Possession or Confuse is the king of all controls in the game, but single target is still the MVP since it can be useful for all levels, because of the super fast recharge compared to seeds of confusion. Also, as you increase in difficulty challenges, your defenses become more important than your offense. Enter the massive to hit debuffs that Dark/Dark dominators command. With a recent pylon testing of 1.28 average time to kill a pylon, dark/dark is sitting along with the best damaging combos. Just like fire, it can kill a lvl +4 AV with only range attacks, the melee attacks also hit very strongly. 3 pets can be useful, the fear (with a massive to hit debuff) is all useful. Dark lacks a sleep and a power like ice slick or bonfire, so it is not perfect, but it is very well rounded. Very strong levels of dmg, instruments for mitigation, and excellent controls. Dark/Dark Dark/Psi Those two would be a very good pick if you want to climb higher and higher the ladder of difficulty. If Plant had a single target fast charging confuse, it would easily demolish every other combo without question. So Mind and Dark are the only ones capable of soloing hard TF's with a pack of AVs at the end, but Dark would beat Mind when it's time to kill the AV, it will kill it faster. Earth is in a special place, it's a set of controls outside of possession or confuse. Ou side of that, Earth reigns as king for control, again, outside of confuse or possession because they are the strongest forms of control in the game. If you really want to disrupt Cimerorans or Black Knights (Black Knights are extremely tough to mez), and even Nemesis with stacked vengeanceou ( they make you miss a lot ) ... ENTER THE EARTH control set. Quicksand and earthquake together combine for an irresistible form of control in so many cases when holds won't work. It will make quick work of Nemesis high defenses and Cimerorans will have their ridiculous defenses shredded as well. That combo is so strong that an Earth Dominator can clear part 2 of the ITF alone without any team mates with quicksand and earthquake doing 90% of the work. THose are my two cents. I am sure other challenge seekers have their own experience.
-
Dark control is a true monster. Fire assault is well, FIRE ! Super powered indeed !
-
The sounds and visuals, as a combo, is probably the best in the game for that Earth/Earth Dominator you played
-
ONE MINUTE 28 seconds to kill the pylon !! Anyone else wants to jump on the wagon of "dark assault is mediocre damage" now? Anyone still on it ? The test is just to help show that dark is not mediocre dmg in the least. There is no data to support it ever was mediocre. Dark Assault belongs with the very very best of assault sets at the top. No where near mediocre.
-
I think we got a formula to get the numbers outside of amplifiers. It's no big deal
-
I personally would have preferred running those tests without amplifiers so to avoid these subtracting maths that will be needed to get the true DPS without them.
-
Did you get the pet resist IO and pet BU? Did you place the ATO proc on MG ? ______________________________________________ @EnjoyTheJourney Did you see this ? This appears to be the highest DPS test so far on doms if all power sets used, not just secondary. Can you check, please. ? Granted, first we need to do the math to remove all amplifier numbers to this test. Otherwise, not so fair.
-
That reminds of me of the player who made an Ice/Savage just so he can run in, confuse and use aura of confusion as well, and get to work. I can't remember where he posted the build, but he even farms with that.
