  1. Like @EnjoyTheJourney said above, the APP that @AcreVpicked helped a lot. Healing/Max HP helps, and staying at range by taking advantage of the slows and bouncing, all that helped. Earth assault dmg is strong and it helped for ST. But I think Acre used it because Earth secondary is just FUN, the SMASH feel comes from no other place. Tex, the video is cool, this sort of thing is great for play development. I like it. Practice and practice will let you know where you need to go and how you need to move. Elec plays like no other set out there in the game. So you have a field where I can hardly offer nothing but plenty of chances to practice in these challenges. Specifically, practice moving around, jousting. The way you played in the video, you going to die fast in Part 1 at the mid point of the cave run, and in part 2 once the ambushes start catching up to the group and in part 3 when the waves of ambushes start getting closer, even with others supporting you Keep moving, be aware of enemy positioning and joust. This is especially important if you are on the ground. On the air, hovering, that is a different ball game, but even then , being aware of your position is critical. I saw many hits you got were not due to build, but it was due because you just stood there just waiting for them to come get you. This should be something easy to fix, and practice will come and be plenty. Psy dmg vs cimerorans is soooooo strong. Good stuff.
  2. I have done a guide on how to solo part 2 , 54 x 8 , no insps, no temps of the ITF with an Earth/ Dominator. I posted the video. I also did a Trio, two doms, one other AT.. I can't remember what AT. I posted the video on that. In that trio , I was playing an Earth/Rad Dominator. To be fair, we needed ( I feel) an earth Dominator. After the recent tweaks to the ITF, the Cimerorans have now a ridiculous amount of Defense. Enter the hot knife through butter, the earth control set. I said on the video that an Earth/ Dom is really the MVP among us for this reason. Electric , depending on how long the recharge of the confuse, otherwise, the sleep is not going to do much since things will easily waken up. The biggest defensive factor Elec brings is that lovely end drain.
  3. Video is now uploaded and posted on YouTube, HD processing took a while. Here's a rundown of the team -- 1. @Voltak Dark/Dark Dominator 2. @EnjoyTheJourney Fire/Psy Dominator 3. @AcreV (@Acre) Earth/Earth Dominator In the video I go over the very valuable contributions and strong points of each of those combos relative to the ITF. I also discuss tactics, strategies, and tips. Some feedback or review about what went wrong and how it could be corrected or improved for future attempts is also provided. Overall, a very impressive feat, and perhaps as good as I could see a part 2 being done in a Trio or a duo, or even bigger teams. Special but important mention -- SLEET SLEET SLEET !! At least one player must have this, thank you, @Acre.
  4. Yes, the build, which one do you have? I know at least 2 of my builds are exemp-down friendly. I love to exemp-down and play flashback missions too.
  5. Some of the best LORE for AV soloing is the Longbow combo. That combo provides excellent -resistance debuffs and also a -500% regen debuff. That adds to your damage tremendously. Part 3, make sure you clear out the area to fight the AVs, wether it be the top platform or the bottom by the phalanx. Also, in my build, without using AIM, I have a 45% + dmg buff or dmg increase.
  6. I solo'd the ITF with my Fortunata. Settings : 54 x 8, No inspirations, no deaths, no temps. I even posted on the forums the guide on how to do part 2 solo, since if you can do that part, you can do the rest of the ITF. Part 2 is the make it or break it, the real measure if you will succeed. I used my build. I can't remember if I did share it on the forums, but I do have the requests by players on my inbox. I also did a 3 man team ITF, with the same difficulty settings. I also posted the video explaining why the Fortunata is especially a formidable character vs the Cimerorans. She's like a hot knife through butter.
  7. My favorite way to do damage as a controller is to pair the primary with the /Storm secondary. It is the closest thing I can do to being like a Dominator but with the added control and damage in the secondary. Tornado, Lighting storm , freezing rain and hurricane are just too good for damage, positioning, and control , defense. Now, for grinding it from level 1 to, let's say, lvl 36... I did the grind on a Fire/Radiation controller. I solo'd him all the way to lvl 35. Fire/Rad combo is safe to solo with and you do decent damage to be able to solo. It is a challenge for endurance management, but you have to learn when to toggle and detoggle, and pack inspirations as well. During your grind , P2W stuff is cheap.
  8. It's all about habits and player skill. If your technique and skills are sharpened, you can do hover and still provide the buffs for the team. Now, for players who like to split from the team... yeah.... sorry.
  9. Having a ton of practice with those sets, I can safely say that YOU SHOULD NOT AVOID THOSE SETS if you hover. Hovering will not kill the efficiency of your play. What might kill the efficiency of those sets is your technique or habits. You can hover and be efficient with those sets. If you want or need proof, just look at my videos. I hover 100% of my support toons, regardless of sets. Hover is among the best, or the best kind of defense for range toons. I play Sonic Resonance, Dark Miasma just fine while hovering and I know how far or how close to be. It's practice.
  10. Before @EV took his break from the game, and before AEON SF, we were running 35s and running 44s. ONce I get my iCloud storage fixed and recovered, that's my plan. I love those challenges and I would run those again any day. Enemies spawning at +5 and +6 is indeed a challenge. MUSIC -- I am trying to get Apple Music to let me upload it for general use. Otherwise, it's on my YouTube videos and on my own computer 🙂.
  11. POison's resistance debuff is lovely The electric affinity plays a big deal too. Additional +recharge Additional Hitpoints (in the form of a very fast recharging absorb shield) Decent dmg buff and strong to hit buff Resists all around No need for additional break frees or additional clarion since Faraday Cage provides mez protection too
  12. @Midnight .... She plays a mean poison/earth defender. Thanks to her part in the team, we did a 5 man challenge, no deaths, no inspirations, and... IMPORTANT -- NO KINETICS ... ITF , 54x8 challenge. Did that in 21 minutes. I love the mass AoE resistances debuffs of poison and the damage debuffs as well. One Elec Affinity and one Poison Defender
  13. Strider posted the build I shared last year. Take a look. Thanks Strider. I was absent from the game for a while
  14. Do you have the link for that build I posted ? I was gone from the game for a bit
  15. I just posted a brand new video, 5 man team, only two defenders, and 3 put dmg dealers. One Defender ELec Affinity to buff One Poison Defender to debuff.
  16. I have not kept track of settings outside of 54 x 8, no inspirations or no incarnates. Everything outside of those settings is just too easy. But I have kept track of those settings I mentioned above, and with those settings I said a combination team has always come ahead, and a purely support team will clean house if the settings are even more difficult, like no incarnates and no inspirations, no deaths allowed. Three-man teams of pure melee was beat by a team of two melee and one kinetics. I was the kinetics in the team and the video is up for anyone to see. The time is still a record to this day and chances are it won't get broken 19 minutes 24 seconds, no deaths, no inspirations, no temp powers, no augments like those P2W buffs sold either.
  17. No kinetics in the team is a BIG DEAL to make the time of 21 minutes, with no deaths, no inspirations, with two Defenders. One Electric Affinity Defender (ME), and one Poison Defender, basically one buffer, one debuffer, with 3 standard damage dealers.
  18. Once you practice and learn and your skill set increases , the "busy" idea will go away. It will be a "reaction". You will start to play following patterns, your experience will help you to just react and press some sequence and get it over with. Then you move on and repeat. That's what happens to me. I know elec affinity so well that I have a sequence I do and then move on.
  19. Soloing better has everything to do with keeping yourself alive under the most difficult setting possible and variations of difficulty from there down to easiest. ELec Affinity wins hands down You are extremely hard to kill Watch the video I made so you can find out why. Elec affinity has more instruments to help you solo under greater challenges. To answer your other question -- Again, for pure buffing. Elec affinity will do better For pure debuting thermal will do better 801s, my AE challenges, iTrials, Master ITF 54x8 and so on
  20. Theorize ?? Theorize ?? Bring your 8 melee team, hit ITF , 54 x 8 , do a master of ITF run (that means no incarnates), turn off inspirations. I will bring my combination team with support. We will do it faster, and maybe even kill more than you will, and be safer too. Not only that, but I will have a greater repertoire to choose from , a variety of the combos that will beat an all melee team. No theory needed. Let's talk practice. Other than that, let's run one of my AE's or any 801s from @Linea bring your 8 of just pure melee. You don't have to accept, but I know for a fact that the inclusion of support will just be decisive. There's no competition there.
  21. ON a purely buffing set, way way way OVER thermal/ice. On a hybrid of buffing/debuffing, no. Electric does not have the debuffs like thermal. On ability to solo , again, WAY over, elec affinity wins
  22. Again, assuming you are playing the actual content of the game, but specifically the part of the content that is the easiest. The game content is huge. There is a lot of content, and there is content that is EASY and there is content that is not so easy, and the difficulty of the content goes up and up. AE is not the only challenging content of the game, and even AE has degrees of difficulty, a large selection of difficulty. The fact is that once the difficulty is high enough, it is the support toons that start to be more valuable to the point even that the non-support types are not needed anymore. Non-support toons will get pwned as the difficulty increases if they are alone with no support. That is a fact, and not debatable. Melee AT, even well designed, may very well get owned in very difficult content. So, like I said, wether or not support is needed, that depends on the content you are facing and how challenging it is, and what enemies you are facing and so on.
  23. I am not making assumptions, Ankhammon. Again, I mean no disrespect to anyone.
