  1. It's hate. Also a change of subject matter since the discussion is about power sets comparisons for dominators. Again, I break stealth when it was smart given the strict conditions of the task force set by the leader ( no deaths being one, no inspirations another, and no temps) I had my share of kills and I did come out of invisible to blast freely or throw other kinds of controls. I did what was necessary to do the mission. Other dominators lived while you died. If the objectives were achieved it was achieved thanks to those who lived to get them ALL done. Since nothing gets finished with dead players. As for your comment of me being a strict solo artist -- I am an artist indeed, not a solo one, but I play the game and use tactics and strategies like artwork, I play dominator with finesse I have done more duos and small team ITFs with a lot more different ATs than you and I have done more of them successfully than you have. I have more DIFFERENT kinds of characters who have finished with success the duos than anyone else in the chnl. I have saved many a team mate so many times. Don't teach me about how to be an efficient player or a good team mate. You died because of your own flaws , not mine. Other Doms lived in that run while you died. Blame yourself and yourself only.

  3. I know when to break stealth and when not to do it. I know when to start blasting care free and when to blast with care and when not to blast at all. Your team mate played better than you. In the end, having counted the so many times you died, I ended up doing a lot more than you did. I just play better, and I am more tactical, and strategic. Look at my videos, I don't play reckless. Other dominators lived while you died over and over and over. Again, why are you changing the subject matter? The post is about the power sets. Why the hate?
  4. The to hit debuff goodness would not be enough if players play reckless like you did. Second - if you die, it is your ultimate fault, not mine. In a team of all dominators, that's essentially what it all comes down to. It's very different when playing controllers or defenders. If you can't avoid dying, that's on you and only you. Again, the feats I achieve with my dom are done because I am tactical and smart and I have an excellent set of instruments to do them. You tried to get the same instruments and you died more times than I could count. That's not my fault. I got the job done. I got my kills I got my shares of them. I did come out of stealth when tactically sound to do so. Why are you deviating the subject matter ?? The discussion is about powersets ?

Dmg is not the deciding factor when determining what set is at the top. Dark has so many things going for it besides dmg that plant just does not provide you. Dark has more elements or instrument to provide mass hard controls than Mind has. ______________________________________________ Moving on to the next one --> When I saw you and the others dead, I saw I had many team mates not helping at all. Even when you joined us with your stealth build, you still died multiple times, therefore you contributed nothing all those times. So you having what I had but you still died, thus you became zero to the left as soon as that happened in the aim to get job done, the task done. I play dominators like a finesse character, and tactically and strategic. I get the job done with or without you. Also, the EB that I possess will do more dmg to the critters than you and any other team mate combined, even drastically more when you are dead. This discussion is about power set in comparison with another power set. I still don't know why you deviated from that subject. Why are you hating ?
  6. This discussion was about powers, not directing your personal griefs with me. But since you went that route -- Here you go : I break out of stealth in a timely and wise manner. I get my own fair share of kills. You died more times than I could count. You do zero dmg when dead, you contribute zero when you dead, and die you certainly did. I don't play reckless. The feats I achieve are not done by reckless playing, but being tactical and smart. You feel that I only use confuse but that is far from the truth. Dmg alone is not the end of the game, and I don't measure efficiency or superiority based on dmg alone, that is not smart at all. Mitigation is part of it, instruments, debuffs, and so on. It's many parts or pieces. I feel what you saying about all hands on deck, but being dead is no hands on deck. You won't finish any TF dead.
  7. Having a vast amount of hands on experience, I can, with full confidence, say that Dark handles AVs better than any other set. Not only does it have an awesome power in Possess, but... The To Hit debuffs (even significantly much stronger ones in the Fear and the amazing power Shadow Field) are significant THREE pets The ST immob, which mind does not have, is very practical for runners, if you include the immobile in your build. The synergy with dark assault that no other primary has is also an advantage. So for AVs, I can put Dark control with the best and probably beat them.
  8. Dark is my domain. I specialize in it. I will pair Dark with anything anyone else deems is better than Dark assault. DPS is only one part necessary to successfully do very challenging game content Because of that, Dark assault, to me, outshines any other set The to hit debuffs are very good. The heal is great and it recharges so fast. I can play at range for the vast amount of time. The Dmg on Dark is still good and good enough to do very challenging tasks without inspirations. It's very difficult for me now to pick any other set to replace Dark. Defense is too important in the game and having that to hit debuff and the burst heal is too good while still having great damage is too good. Even in PVP drain life is so important that tournaments rules are now that if you have drain life and the final score is equal, the rules will declare whoever has drain life as the loser since it is too much of an advantage used to stall or save you from your death.
  9. Clamor is a phenomenal challenge for any Controller or any Dominator or any character that relies on defenses to make it. I discuss in the video why she may be the toughest AV to tackle and its relatively speaking given the level. It's also a guide on how to fight her as a Dark/Dark Dominator and to offer insights as to why Dark/Dark is so good a combination against an enemy with so many debuffs to wreck your dominator ( or even a controller)

  11. Thank you, Doc. What works is both. Perma dom (with hasten, not outside of hasten) along with high defenses. Since I am mostly a hover dom, and, like I said in the video, nothing in the game is safer than hovering and playing from range. To add to that, I use invisibility ( Stealth power). In the video I said I have soft cap range defenses, energy/neg energy defenses. But I also have 24% defenses to S/L, 27% Def to melee, and after I hit gather shadows or Clarion, those defenses get a vast boost, putting me at cap or near cap to those. That also motivates me to have a high recharge. But all you need is enough recharge for permanent domination with hasten, as long as you hit the defense goals I set above. In addition to that I play a combination of sets and power choices that provide the strongest defenses --> Dark Control has good to hit debuffs Dark assault has good to hit debuffs Dark assault has a good heal. ( boosted with clarion and gather shadows you may hit 260 per shot every 2-3 seconds) Invisibility So when the discussion arises about dominators not having a defensive secondary like controllers, I like to say that they must not be including Dark/Dark combination in the discussion. Those debuffs are a defense indeed. ArchVillains have trouble trying to hit me and I did all my Portal Jockey accolade fighting the AVs solo, no help ever from anyone. I hardly ever needed inspirations, even vs Malaise or Mother Mayhem (Carnies AVs are an exception, and I don't know why for sure but their attacks have some sort of extra accuracy), since I don't care if they do Psy dmg, since Range defense is my trump card along with the to hit debuffs. Gather Shadows and Clarion Radial make those debuffs even stronger. I have cap'd S/L resists and around 37% resists to neg energy, and around 17% to energy

  14. The video is now on HD 1080 resolution quality Turns out that I did everything right. YouTube just takes 24+ hours to process the video even after they tell you it's already done processing. You just need to give it time and it will appear with the correct resolution eventually.

    But in this case the secondary helps lot with the defense because the secondary is Dark. More - to hit debuff and fast recharging heal from range, and a rarely resisted dmg type. Dark assault is a very good dmg dealing set as well. After playing it for so long and after seeing the immense synergy of the primary and secondary, it is very hard for me to make another Dark/ dominator without the Dark secondary.

    I am not about to write "theories" as a response in the thread. I am going to give what actually works and what actually has done it (and proven and verified personally with my own eyes to do so). Dark/Dark/Soul Dominator Has Solo'd AVs from Clamor (Yin TF) ( no def caps in build, no resists caps) at lvl 25 or whatever the lvl limit was Sinclair lvl 53 AV +3 (AV was incarnate shifted as well) - using only one green and one red inspirations, no shivas, radio summon powers from P2W. ITF 54 x 8 - NO INSPIRATIONS, NO P2W, NO Ampliers, no shivans, temp powers turned off Solo'd REQUIEM and ROMMY during the ITF above in part 3 and 4 or course. I will write another post about it El Abismal Excelsior server.
  22. Gear = enhancements Traditionally, if you did not know, gear enhance or modify your selected powers/abilities. A toggle, say like Leadership/Tactics, is a power, not a piece of gear. Gear/enhancements is what you place or have on (wear in other games) in the slots Toggling on Tactics just toggle the tactics to activate and function. The IOs, they enhance the toggle or modify and so on The combination of IOs and their bonuses, especially when all of them are combined, that enhances your character significantly, and the character could become very potent. They can enhance all your powers. Your powers get enhanced by your gear/ IOs. If I had to explain this…. I am surprised __________________________________________________________________ What I narrate and state is used to demonstrate the FACT, that there is actually in the game challenges to any build with IOs. There is challenge in AE and outside of AE for anyone trying to solo on difficulty rating +4 x 8 Yes, even outside of AE, you can find challenges to builds like for example, black knights in Night Ward, the Dominators with perma domination will find those critters will render your perma domination only half as helpful because they are extremely difficult to hold. The only thing perma dom will help you 100% vs them is in giving increased dmg, the other part of domination. Same thing in an ITF, holding those critters are a bit of a challenge. Builds that rely on defense to survive , they also face a challenge with Devouring Earth… once those little things hit the ground, they will hit ANYTHING any time. There are more things to list These are facts. In AE you can find extremely difficult missions that are extremely difficult for anyone to solo at +4 x 8, maybe just impossible. Does this content get avoided by a vast amount of players? Probably so. The DEVs can certainly present or introduce more challenges to players in the form of content. They can be a challenge to builds complete with IOs and any kind of set bonuses. ___________________________________________________________________________________ There is absolutely no need to nerf any bonuses nor sets nor the IOs. There is a need or a want for new challenges and a need to direct or lead players to those higher challenges. ______________________________________________________________________________ The answer that settles decisively the question about wether IOs are breaking game content or not , PRESENT game content, can be answered. The answer is NO. That is why I said that what matters in the example earlier is that the melee could NOT survive or could complete the AE mission alone , and far away from soloing the missions. That is what ultimately and decisively matters, that they alone and the uber builds could not succeed alone. They needed the support. A team with full support will be an even easier endeavor. The right support can make anyone a tanker while at the same time buffing them to the point of making decisive damage to succeed. Support can and will always be able to buff anyone far more than any combination of IOs can do to your build.
  23. No , your gear is what you put ON The only thing you put on in CoX are your enhancements You put those on and you take those off. When you put those on, your character transforms potentially into a much greater powerhouse When you take that gear off, your character is gimped. That's a fact That's gear Powers are increased or modified by your gear , being your Enhancements or bonuses etc. That's gear Your powers , defenses, offenses are enhanced by your gear and so on ______________________________________ I have no interest in changing the subject matter on to grammar. Stick to debating the subject matter or walk away. __________________________________________________ It is not one anecdote It is facts This has been happening since before IOs IT is happening during IOs and will continue to happen after IOs The facts are that 1. There is content already in the game that make builds with great IO bonuses still needing plenty of help to be able to successfully beat challenges 2. The evidence is irrefutable that without the support, those IOs were not even close to making those characters represent anything close to breaking the game or be overpowered vs the game content, as long as the content is challenging enough 3. You are changing the subject matter , and I am not dodging anything --> The fact is that those builds were not nearly enough to accomplish the mission successfully , they needed the support to do it. Why is this crucial ? Because the sentiment being expressed is that builds, those builds capped, they A). overmatch the game or B) steam roll over the game content without much of a challenge C) or it is being expressed that there is no content to match those powerhouses The evidence refutes those claims The game content can render those builds insufficient to succeed vs those challenges What was crucial and what was overpowering the challenges were the support sets/characters ________________________________________________________ Even up to now, support characters can buff players far beyond what any combination of IOs can IOs have not and are not even close to negating that fact ____________________________________________________ Additional facts -- Yes, many players decide to do easier content relative to their builds Thus I advocate adding new challenging content and driving those players to the new or more challenging and already existing content How you drive those players? That's totally another subject matter entirely _____________________________________ I created no problem IOs did not create a problem, similar to the fact that gear in other games do not break the game Content is added to challenge new progression It is the logical and factual course in any game in which gear is an integral part of progression and challenges. The nerfs to the gear is not the way to go

The game already has content that poses a great challenge to any build that reaches the soft cap via IOs or power choices Those challenges will most likely not be overcome without support or without other combinations in the team make up or otherwise Vast majority of players avoid that content or does not even know And, not only players can now or have already created the content, but the Devs can add new challenges to face the rise, a rise created by design, and from the natural outcome from playing and progress The solution here is to do what is normally done ---> Bring new challenges, and direct players or lead players into those challenges No way a nerf to gear is needed at all.
