On my main, I run BP Radial for Hami raids (I don't like them, but a lot of raiders swear by them) and Storm Elemental Core for everything else. I've come to like the 'traditionally psychic' pink/purple, Storm Elementals play a little into her Shard backstory, and I made one costume match (her Final Form). For alts, I run Polar Lights for the same reason everyone else seems to--clearing the screen. A few (including my recently-rolled farmer) have Carnies Radial for the untouchable buff bot.

Wish I could have joined this week--Dr Kahn is one of my faves (other than the Shard). I should be available next week, I'll bring Fraulein Mental (Mind/Kin CTRL) in Hamikini Mode. (Not sure I'll get my other candidate leveled in time.)

After playing since I6, I started my first-ever farmer about two weeks ago. Rad/Fire Broot. Went straight from chargen to Atlas, did street sweeping to level 4 (about a lap around City Hall), then into AE. Did the Tunnel Witches farm (#3923) a couple times, then Noobz Fire Farm (#20440) and mostly the Comic Con Fire Farm (#2915) from there. Leveled to 50 in a day, all incarnates to T3 in a second day. (I did pass down a couple Transcendent Merits and a couple dozen Hero Merits from my main to slot ATOs and Incarnates, but not much else got slotted until 50.) I still need a respec to tweak power slotting, but I'm now farming +3/x8/Boss/EB without much trouble (not reliably AFK, but mostly using the auras and PBAoEs). Fire Res capped but not Def. Slotting KD procs in the two auras helps with mitigation. Fire Farming is a specialized build, though--I ran my first non-AE missions last night (Heather Townsend's arc) and died a few times before toning down the difficulty. Let your auras do their work, and don't be shy about using inspirations. They'll drop from your kills like candy from a pinata. I keep a column of acc/dam, one of res/def, and two of heal/end, just to have stuff I know I want. The last column is empty for drops, which I pop as they drop (deleting rez).

I'll be traveling next weekend, so don't necessarily save a spot. There's a small chance I can make it, if I can get there and check into my hotel in time. If so, I'll probably bring either Fraulein Mental (Mind/Kin CTRL) just because, or Jean-Luc Wick (Phaser Rifle/WP Sentinel) because he needs the badge for TF Commander. I'm scheduled to work the following weekend (18 Sep) so I'm out that weekend. I'm working on my Beach Day character for 25 Sep: Wake Monster (Water/Kin Corruptor), in his water-skiing best. Or I could just bring FM in Hamikini Mode. 🙂

Nice work, @Midnyte! You always get a lot of good pics. I only got a few myself--I keep forgetting to hit my screenshot button. Our starting lineup! Pre-SF jam session. A couple of us are hung over the morning after Leviathan. Bonus round: Dropping Arakhn to finish the Moonfire TF.

The WST repeat badges: Assistant/Accomplice: You helped a team complete a Weekly Strike Target even though you already received the bonus for the week. Backup/Confederate: You helped 10 teams complete a Weekly Strike Target even though you already received the bonus for the week. Partner/Conspirator: You helped 50 teams complete a Weekly Strike Target even though you already received the bonus for the week. I've heard of a fair number of people farming Cavern of Transcendence for these when it's a WST. -
I was thinking about that. Yes, I should drop out, just in case. I hope to see you guys next week for Op Renault, and I'll plan to bring Whiskey River, my Mind/Psi Dominator. EDIT: Since y'all had the wonderful idea to link your songs, here's mine: Willie Nelson - Whiskey River (Live From Austin City Limits, 1981) - YouTube

I had a meeting pop up for tomorrow, so I'll need to log out by around 12:30.

I should be able to make it next week. I'll plan to have three alts parked there, in case there's time to alt between runs: Coffee Ring (Water/Dark Corruptor), Sister Lyra (Fire/WP Sentinel), and Cryomania (Ice/Ice Blaster). -
I plan to be there with Aluminum Patriot, Energy/Devices Blaster.

The Burnination Squad takes on the Silver Mantis SF! Our starting lineup...juggling fire. Burning down Sky Raiders. Add Freaks to taste. And then the 8 Vampyri-spawn capsules. And Colonel Duray goes down like a chump!
-
I should be there with my Fire/WP Sentinel, Sister Lyra.

Is that like trying to pay with exposure? 🤑

Nicely done. Congrats! -
I also have to pass on next week. I have to work next weekend.

LRSF -- Givin' those heroes a thumpin' A few early desserts. The starting lineup! That room is terrible for wide shots. Atop the ruined Atlas Statue, where pulled...everyone except Manticore. I caught three people during their zone-out after defeating Ms Liberty. Mission complete! It really is a strange looking rifle...

Congrats to @Bananiac on the Overall Win!

I brought an angel to the CC, which is tangentially on-theme: And here's the group shot I got at the CC finale:
-
Yeah, I've never known them to take bios into account. I've heard of a few privately-run CCs (mostly on Live) to look at bios, but that's a lot of work.

I'll also have to miss the 8/15 event (and 8/14 Theme Team), since I'm scheduled to work that weekend. -
Superhero genre TTRPGs
FrauleinMental replied to TraumaTrain's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
MHR's "guidance" is essentially saying how they wrote up Captain America, and basically saying: do something like this. And they say up-front that the it's meant for established comic book characters. That's insufficient guidance to generate a brand-new character which, frankly, is why I play RPGs. I do understand a lot of people like to RP the established characters, which is why CoH traditionally needed to 'generic' characters, and that's really the audience MHR was written for. FASERIP did give some rules for creating new characters, especially in the Ultimate Powers Book. Yes, it was random, but it didn't have the benefit of 30+ years of advances in game design. -

All I got was the starting pic today. Thanks for the run, @TraumaTrain! We got our 10 alignment missions and a morality mission. I'd forgotten Vig->Vil uses different morality missions than Rogue->Vil, and the wrong one doesn't count for changing alignment. -
My understanding is that bios have never been taken into account for the official contests. There's not enough time for that. I've spent enough of my life grading papers to know how long it takes--most people aren't going to stand around long enough for one judge to rack-and-stack bios, let alone debate them with their co-judge. That's in addition to the actual costume, which is why we're here. To account for bios in any meaningful way, we'd have to submit them prior to the contest and the judges would have to volunteer extra hours of their time to read, judge, and debate them. Even though attendance was light on Indom, there were a lot of really good costumes. Mine was only tangentially on-theme (depending on how 'folklore' you think an angel is), several of my friends had better costumes and were closer to theme, and none of us won anything.
