  1. Fire and Spines are probably the best way to go. Fire doesn't take a whole lotta procs, though. Spines was made for procs; a lot of the Toxic attacks take recharge slow sets. My spines/bio tanker Frankenslots many procs, although almost all of them are Trap of the Hunter recharge slows, which improve toughness rather than doing damage. Old fashioned 'buzzsaw' damage proc based builds are no longer feasible because of changes in the proc mechanics. Better now to focus on debuff procs and add multiple instances of the same kind of debuff to multiple attacks. Any of the primaries with a damage dealing aura - Fire, Ice, Bio, Electric are the ones I know best - will make a good pair. Shields also works because of the charge; that will need a lot of recharge. You will want a primary with a recovery power if you are running Spines and Quills. If you're doing a -recharge proc based build like I do with Spines, Willpower is also worth a look. Your taunt aura can take Dark Watcher's Despair -recharge procs. This is what I did with a Spines/WP scrapper back on Victory. I run a Bio/Spines and a Shield/Fire tanker on Torchbearer now. Both are strongly AoE oriented. I also have a WP/Mace tanker that does fairly well in the AoE department, but that's all conventional damage and doesn't take a whole lot of debuff procs.
  2. Worst possible case scenario is that people have to make a stop at the Pocket D P2W and pick up the Tech starter power, which is a hold.
  3. This was a problem I tried to solve by putting a fair amount of exposition into patrol, spawn, and NPC chats in my AE stories. The patrol chats all fire at the beginning now, unfortunately.
  4. George Thorogood - I Drink Alone
  5. I would hope that any fix is an optional thing like locking the buttons in place in their tray. which can be toggled on or off by the player.
  6. Anchor powers are most valuable on hard targets like AVs. They were constantly proving their worth over the last week, when Kahn/Barracuda were the weekly targets.
  7. I am levelling an Ice/Plants blaster that is also very controllery. I have not taken any melee attacks on the character. There are a couple in the secondary; skipped them in favor of early Hasten, Invisibility, Recall. At level 32 she has three holds (all ranged), just about everything roots or slows mobs, and there are just so many options to stay out of melee that I felt no need for any.
  8. Thank you for these suggestions, they've been quite helpful. Made a poison/dark blast defender because I had a concept that worked. The long Jester nose mask makes a fairly good Plague-Doctor costume.
  9. Radiation or Bio Armor would be my suggestions if you liked Electric. Both have good sustain powers and can be made quite strong.
  10. There are Crey and Nemesis snipers in PI and FF. I always look for them and get rid of them when in the area.
  11. The Great Society - Sally Go Round the Roses RIP Jerry Slick (Grace's ex).
  12. The key to making concept characters is to learn to draw with the pencils you've been given.
  13. I have often gone with Air Superiority from Flight. It does decent damage, has reliable control, and adds a bit of super strength even to characters that don't have Super Strength.
  14. You can lock powers in place in Options. All this does is to prevent individual powers from being moved around inside their trays. This is not a major problem. I often move powers around in trays, especially when exemping down. Could it be possible PLEASE to lock the trays in place, so that the bottom tray is always tray 1. the second 2. the top 3? For me these seem to change up randomly a lot more often than having a power being inadvertently moved from one place to another. It causes all sorts of mischief, especially when a copy of tray 3 ends up where tray 1 belongs and you find yourself randomly turning toggles off rather than firing attacks.
  15. I had no idea. In fact, I only learned that the Blue Wisp and the other P2W summoned pets could be named a couple months ago. Several characters have named their Wisps 'Mallory.'
  16. Actually, that's an Ice/Plants blaster. Went with Plants so I could have shoulder spikes in honor of the namesake without having to use them on the costume. I do have an Illusion/Rad controller. And her pets are going with --
  17. Probably ought to make a Defender since I have one of everything now except for EATs. Even managed to like a mastermind. Which defender power sets have very few expected or key powers targeted at teammates and most targeted on enemies? Had to shelve the Kin on old live. I'm thinking Dark or Rad.
  18. I am finding an Ice/Plants blaster very fetching to play right now. Very controller-ish while doing better than controller damage. Power set combo was chose for basically random reasons. The character's parody name is Ice Minstrel, so I made her a clown and chose Plants mostly to give her shoulder spikes in honor of her namesake while still having her be a clown.
  19. Kenny Rogers - Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town. I have always enjoyed and admired the sheer sick-mindedness of these lyrics. RIP Kenny Rogers.
  20. I always end up having to make macros to allow powers that are targeted at ground circles to be targeted at a mob instead. They usually work; they sometimes mysteriously fail.
  21. Real surprised I was the first player to think of this one, too.... I've always been a fan of the effect Clown makeup has on Hostile faces. First time I tried it on a female character.....
  22. Drive By Truckers - My Sweet Annette
  23. I do remember that Desdemona figures quite a bit in Rogue alignment missions. No easy way I know of to just get and play those.
  24. Follow melee does not work at all. If you queue up a melee attack on a followed mob and they run, they will run over heather and dale and your attack will not fire until they decide to stop.
  25. Power selection makes a big difference. If you want a power set that gets good fast, Regen is the goto for brutes and scrappers. It is at its best in the 35 and under game, and falls way behind at 50. I have a level 50 regen scrapper that's built for low level content. But Quick Recovery at level 4 makes it very inviting in the early game, For a tanker, Fire Armor is the closest analogue: everything in the armor set that directly keeps you alive is available by level 12. Those are the ATs I know best.
