  1. Lol it's at least one less than the number of givens for PPM to be true or accurate.
  2. I've even changed NPC's entire powersets so that I could pick animations that looked like them fighting... I would love to be able to stop doing that.
  3. Who me? Lol. I usually use a wide variety of powers and I don't have alt-itis... maybe that helps. I do use 2 or 3 LotG. I also like to work a force feedback proc in there... so I party a little bit.
  4. Hmm. I read it like he wants to be able to ignore topics as in all threads related to a topic. Something would have to make that determination for each thread. If when y'all say topics that means threads, then yeah you should definitely be able to do that and eliminate it from your feed.
  5. You think there is a method that is smart enough to recognize, in this example, parody thread titles? You think those controls would function better than your own discretion? I can't imagine current forum software that was powerful enough to fix this example problem, but delicate enough not to get it wrong. There will be an AI soon enough doing this for you, though... I'm sure.
  6. I can make it very clear. Procs do not proc a certain number of times per minute. They have a percentage chance to proc.
  7. You have that ability. I believe in you.
  8. It's just... not? This is such a weird thing to say. It has been explained ad nauseum that it doesn't work this way. The procs have a percentage chance to go off. People have shared methods you can use to calculate it. This is a well known, well documented fact. I do understand how confusing this can be, given that the enhancement descriptions are inaccurate. Uh... no. If the chance to proc is variable... the most accurate way to explain how often it will proc would be it's chance to proc. How can you say it's variable and then say the most accurate way to explain it is a number that never changes? PPM is not real. We know this. I also can't understand the motivation for wanting it to be real. Read your own post. Your examples dismantle the idea of "procs per minute." You've provided more evidence against PPM descriptions than anyone.
  9. I've used both on Blasters. Leveraging PFF was fun. Turning it on at the right time, taking cover and then picking the time to take it off was more interesting than just standing and spamming 3 attacks. Force of Nature is an ok power, but fun to use on a squishy. Force bomb sucks. Temp Invulnerability is a straightforward armor. Fire more versatile and a lot easier to make useful. I've not used Bonfire enough to speak on it, but having a hold and a damage resistance debuff is very useful. Both are fun. Fire looks way better. Force looks like garbage. Both have a few ways to keep you from dying, but fire helps offensively as well. (I also second the suggestion raise your defenses via set bonuses. I'm partial to softcapping range on blasters.)
  10. Still... no. But maybe we think attack chain means something different.
  11. What about removing the minimum level restriction for the pillar of ice and flame... and adding a mission computer skin for it? Would that cover it?
  12. If you were using a proper attack chain with no gaps, activated hasten, then continued using the same four powers in the same rotation, dps would be unchanged. So it can't speed up your attack chain, unless you had gaps... but hasten could allow you to change your chain, which would probably mean MOAR DAMAGE For example maybe you could eliminate a T1 or T2 attack that previously filled in gaps. Also, your nukes and big stuff is up more. More damage per second is a likelihood.
  13. Yeah OP should have thought about that... Phew!
  14. The game makes liberal use of a generic punching/weaving animation for allies and enemy spawns to show that they are fighting when you get there. As far as I can tell, this isn't an option. Am I missing it somewhere? Is there a configuration that does this if you choose default? If I'm not missing it and it isn't currently available... wtf?
  15. Didn't you leave?
  16. Sure. It speeds up recharge. That's it. It doesn't speed up activation time, animation time, damage dealt or anything else. If your highest dps attack chain already has no gaps in it, there would be no change to that attack chain's dps. If using hasten allowed you to use a different attack chain that does more damage, it might be 70%. It could also be 15%. It might be 127% more damage per second. A 70% increase in recharge does not translate directly into 70% more DPS, because recharge isn't the only variable. Activation time, animation time, damage, accuracy, target caps... heck if you wanted to be pedantic even movement speeds impact your DPS. Different powersets and different builds will take advantage of recharge at a different rate. Faster recharge could mean more damage. Maybe it means a lot more. Maybe it means a little bit. Maybe it means no more damage. It varies widely based on so many other factors.
  17. I know I said I've never used it, but even I know this isn't correct. Wow lol.
  18. How much time is that?
  19. Well, it isn't set up to fire at a given rate per minute. I could understand why you think that... the description says that it is. But it isn't. It just isn't. That information in the description is not true. That's not the real rate. That is an inaccurate and untrue estimate. I can tell you're confused because we've already covered this. It's not your fault. The description is inaccurate. Hope that helps.
  20. Oh gosh. Well, it means you would know the chance of it firing. If you know the chance of it firing then you could make informed decisions about how to slot it. If it has a 10% chance to fire in one configuration, and a 60% chance to fire in another, and I want it to have a higher chance of it firing, I will pick the configuration that gives it a 60% chance. If I have a proc that could go in two different powers and I wanted it to have a higher chance of going off... I could pick the power that gives it a higher chance of going off.
  21. Nah... it should just show the chance when you hover the enhancement over the power like it shows everything else, and then say it in the description once it's slotted.
  22. Procs do. Their chance to fire is related to the recharge of the power they are in, as affected by enhancements. As we can see, people don't know this. Some might not care, but there's a large portion of the playerbase that doesn't realize this, and would slot differently if they did.
  23. This thread itself is evidence that this should have been changed a LONG time ago. You have people who who post on the forums that really think that the PPM information is true. Imagine what the less interested playerbase thinks.
  24. That information is inaccurate and unhelpful and does nothing to explain the chance a proc has to fire. The author wants to know the chance a proc has to fire.
