Is the game harder to learn today than back on live?
Forager replied to Intermipants's topic in General Discussion
There is certainly more stuff to understand... and most of it is not explained well... or at all but I don't think that is what makes new players feel defeated. The feeling of being lost as a new player in a game like this doesn't come from the fact that you don't completely understand the game. It comes from the fact that everyone else does. If everyone on your team was as clueless as we all were in 2006, everything would just feel like discovery and progression. But if you're a true brand new level 25 and join a TF, you might end up getting to the missions as they're ending, getting yanked around by TPs and then being literally left behind. Not very super. Nobody explains what you need to do because they don't need you to do anything. If you joined a team of 8 dudes slotted with DOs who all took the medicine pool, you have a chance of feeling super. -

Thank you so much for this feedback... it is very well thought out and extremely useful. You have a really good eye for this and great attention to detail. -
If Your Characters had a Patron Pool...
Forager replied to Sakura Tenshi's topic in General Discussion
Audacity Mastery for Blasters Sharp Tongue: Single target taunt, -foe to-hit, +foe damage Flashbang: Targeted AoE stun, can affect caster Plot Armor: Location AoE, foe knockdown, short duration high +defense to all, self teleport, self ragdoll, self knockdown Cavalry: Summon Posse: summons 10 or so minion level mobs from a random faction for a short duration Moment of... Something...: self rez, PBAoE random status effect, +resistance to all Edit: fun thread, OP... nicely done -
I still mess this up during respecs...

I always assumed it was a spa or a bathhouse. They work underground. Vampires and fascists are typically fastidious and tidy types. A bunch of council boys go have a soak in there after a long hard day of digging, oppressing and nictus husbandry.

The D Squad: Content for Ex-Criminals (Vol. 1 and 2)
Forager replied to Forager's topic in Mission Architect
Oh wow... lol then you may have found the best solve... because that dude usually causes trouble. Thank you so much for checking it out. Find Mission Exit is not anybody's favorite, so I used the small map. It just made the most sense for the story, the troll rescue and the final encounter. -
Your suggestion is a good one, a great one, even. It's one that the devs already want to implement. It would improve the game... a lot. There are a handful of posters who have made it their mission to shoot down ideas... and they rarely do it by addressing the actual idea itself.

Cake room is cool. Council pool room is cool. Rooms that can break up the team make for more interesting fights. I like catching aggro, having to run, accidentally aggroing something else, run from that and then have to fight back to the team on a duo with some random Defender I didn't notice until then. I know that a large section of the playerbase likes to clump all the bad guys, hit their chain and watch the numbers go. Variety is the spice of life.
-
OP I got a job for you that pays 10 mil if you want it.
-
Am I the only person that likes that room?

When I say false, I'm talking about the assertion that ppm is accurate. That is false.
-
That. That's left. When someone makes a point you're supposed to address it and either rebut or cede... you know... instead of just trying to think of something else to argue about or going quiet. Edit: assuming the goal is rational discussion
-
That's the funny part. They won't address this. It's just such a weird thing to argue. It is just plain false, then they do a bunch of math and post formulas proving it's false... and still argue that it's true. It's an approximation... of an average... using a set of variables that are rarely true... just... how? So I lol.
-
Lol... ok... wow.

The D Squad Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are live! D Squad adventures include hard boss fights and tricky encounters. Also, this is ROGUE CONTENT. The D Squad is a team of ex-criminals. Your tech guy was a Skull! Your character will be tested and your character will be tested. You may or may not be able to keep your nose clean. That's mostly up to you. The D Squad Vol. 1: Constellation Row Arc ID: 68066 Alignment: ROGUE WARNING: There are cops, civilians and innocent bystanders that you can target at one point if you're not careful. Description: When the meteors hit and Shivan attacked Galaxy City, the FBSA ordered an evacuation. Officer Daniels has never been great at following orders... and the rogues assigned to him are even worse. [SFMA] The D Squad Vol. 2: Overlooked Arc ID: 68479 Alignment: ROGUE With Officer Daniels out of action, the FBSA tries to send his team of ex-criminals on a routine patrol. Blue Spectrum decides that the team should take control of its own destiny, and sets his sights beyond the War Walls.

No, its the fact that it represents what the average, unenhanced power does if it's clicked every time it's available. That's what renders it inaccurate... because that's rarely the circumstances when powers are used. Amd as how much work it is for the devs... ooph. Like they can program the game to make this calculation and apply it, but they can't get the number on the screen lol. The arguments around dev time and dev ability usually mean we've reached the bottom. I REALLY hope that's the bottom.

I don't think I misunderstand it... The game knows the percentage. It has this data. It should show it to the player. It should show the percentage chance it has to proc. It's what we've been saying the whole time. Or maybe you're asking like... the format? You drag the enhancement over the power, it should show what it will do before you drop it the same way it does for how much recharge it will add, or accuracy, or damage... Then once it's in the power, it should display that percentage when you mouse over it.
-
As a percentage.
-
Lol it's at least one less than the number of givens for PPM to be true or accurate.
-
I've even changed NPC's entire powersets so that I could pick animations that looked like them fighting... I would love to be able to stop doing that.
-
Who me? Lol. I usually use a wide variety of powers and I don't have alt-itis... maybe that helps. I do use 2 or 3 LotG. I also like to work a force feedback proc in there... so I party a little bit.

Why I want the ability to ignore entire topics
Forager replied to srmalloy's topic in General Discussion
Hmm. I read it like he wants to be able to ignore topics as in all threads related to a topic. Something would have to make that determination for each thread. If when y'all say topics that means threads, then yeah you should definitely be able to do that and eliminate it from your feed.
