    EM/Rad

Ugh!!! Alts....more ALTS!! Not complaining.... just shouting from the rooftops. Any who, this time my altoholism has brought me back to another Stalker. I think I put together a good build, it seems to tick all the boxes, just wouldn't mind an extra set (or two) of eyes on it. I've ran both sets on different ATs, so I think I've got a decent grasp of them. My only worry is exemp'ing down without Tough. My S/L resist slips to 57%, but I don't know what else to switch out to the end of the build and still be balanced between kill'em all and not getting killed when I exemp. I think I'd be OK sliding Power Crash to the end, but what else? I generally don't exemp below 20ish on the reg. Run Yin alot and some of the other 20 TFs quite often. Actually, having looked it over, I wonder if dropping Power Crash for Barrage would be better... The reason I went this route was because I'd read that EM was brutal ST on a Stalker, but I know Stalkers lack AOE....so Rad Armor fills that hole plus many others. Personally, it's prob my favorite resist set. Incarnates: Alpha: Resilient Radial, Destiny: Ageless Radial, Interface: Reactive Rad Thanks! -WT Stalker (Energy Melee - Radiation Armor).mbd
  2. Love me some Rad! Probably my favorite TBH. Still learning to love BA though. I have a Brute BA/Bio, he's 50 but.... I can drop in my Rad/MA build, maybe you could use it for ideas on Rad? Tanker (Radiation Armor - Martial Arts)Final.mbd
  3. Price gouging you say.... How many times have you found stuff super cheap, I have many times, but do you complain then as well? I occasionally return the favor and list things super cheap for others to find. When I was brand spanking new, I also learned why to never list an item for 1 inf... It is SO easy to make currency in this game, like stupid easy. I'm just over a year in and want for nothing and I don't really commit to anyone style of earning. I farm, play the market, and play content. This is a game where there is no wear and tear on gear and all gear is permanently yours and can be used by any of your toons or resold for around what you have in it. I have a base for my banker that is filled with enhancements because I no longer have to sell it all to get by. I never sell any purple recipes, craft and keep for my next alt which IS coming. I just don't get the complaints. If something costs too much don't buy it or, and maybe this is just me but, go play for like 15 min and come back and buy it. Is this "toxic positivity?" Asking for another forum....
  4. Personally, I appreciate people who play the market. They keep it active. I make inf every way possible and yes the market is the quickest way. AFK farming might be in the running because you don't actually have to man the bot, so it is efficient. Active farming is what I do when I don't have much time or might not be able to commit to a team. And then there is just playing the game. I'm not the richest by far, but I want nothing just the same.
  5. Obviously....based on the number of replies....nobody cares.
  6. I like rude people. Gives me the opportunity to practice my rude, Ya know, the golden rule, treat others as they treat you....or something like that.
  7. In the absence of an actual problem, one is inevitably invented.
  8. Stalker is my choice. I have an /EleA Stalker and she does very well and I hear that EM is absolutely beastly...and Imma 'bout to try it. Edit: Way too much Tanker love!
  9. The fact that the "holy trinity" isn't necessary is a bonus. I've grown tired of the rigid three. Being able to just pull in any class with any powers and getting the job done IS very much the way it should be for superheroes. Look how it is in comics, when there is something going down who shows up is who they got to work with, and each play to their strengths. I enjoy and appreciate the game mechanics of COH. The teaming, the level shifting, the open field of play (run what'cha brung) and it's easy to make any TF as easy or hard as you want. It is the most customizable game I've ever played, and that allows anyone to have the type of fun they want.

    So I was....

Oh righty.... Not discouraged, BUT I had an ego-bruising ITF run last night. Keep in mind my dude is only 40 but he's fully slotted out for his level. I might've...sort of...prioritized damage over survivability in my slotting, so it should even out soon, I hope. BUT, that made me wonder how you guys might prioritize your slotting. I'm decent at power selection for exemp'ing, but still trying to find that balance in slotting while leveling. On a Tanker, is it best to get the AT sets in, sprinkle in a couple attack power slots, focus on becoming the meat shield, then finish out the secondary? Or is that decision really down to the set choices? I felt extremely squishy in that run. I died more than I've ever died before, but also it was sort of a patchwork team that lost 2 members. So, it was me and another 40 Brute, a 50 Scrapper (who really did most of the work), a 50 Sent, and two others I can't remember and no support. I think though my two auras were pulling more aggro than the Brute's one and I've long theorized that the mobs prioritize any AT that is controlling them, and I've got built-in stuns. I know they were debuffing the begeezus out my veneer of defenses and my resistances are not up to par just yet, close though. LOL I think at this point I'm trying to rationalize my failure... Any who, question still stands... -WT

    So I was....

I've rejiggered the build a little more and won't need Cardiac and I wanted to max out my Super Speed for theme, so plan on going Muscular for that and a damage bump. It's at level 40 now and so far the stun effect seems to work pretty good. It's just another layer of mitigation, but a comical one. All the minions are insta-stunned with OG and then Whirling Hands keeps them drunk, while the ST attacks keep the hard targets wobbly. It's not all 100% but good enough. I'm a little let down by Dark Regen, the heal is fantastic, but since I slotted it for recharge, ToE: +End is almost useless. I guess it's the icing, but most often I only get back what DR costs. Still a free huge heal is pretty good. It exemps down well too. How much KB protection is really needed? I assume pretty high for Freem, but other than that? 11? 15? More? I looked at my Fiery Aura Brute and he gets by on 9, but he doesn't need bad guys around him for a clutch heal.

    So I was....

working on a Sav/Dark Brute build when a buddy of mine started talking about a Dark/EM tanker he has that stuns the bajeezus outta mobs. And I thought that might be a pretty fun build to make. Can anyone tell me if the Oppressive Gloom stun and all the stuns in Energy Melee's attacks work well enough to stun....what exactly? AVs maybe?? At least for a sec... Also, is disorient and stun the same thing? The wording seems to intermingle. Thanks, -WT And as I'm typing this...I'm having deja vu...so if this is a repeat lol sorry
  16. A thing about DNA Siphon that I didn't realize for a while. You only get a recovery boost from dead baddies. You'll get heals and endurance back from either, but the endurance recovery comes from sampling downed critters.
  17. I like the set, but didn't realize til just now I'd skipped the strong hold, but I was focused on keeping her at range. I also don't actually like all the knockback the pets do either. I can scatter a murder ball sometimes. I was actually just working on a Dark/Fire/Psi build.
  18. OooooH! So I'm a big stupid head! In my Illusion build I might've sort've skipped Flash..... Welp maybe Ill/Fire wasn't the experience I was hoping for cause I failed it....
  19. Only thing about your build that may be an issue is the slow resist level not being high enough. Bio relies heavily on its click powers and if their recharge suddenly takes longer you could come up short. Also, with my build Darkest Night helps boost survivability. The other tiny knock would be the Power Transfer proc, it's superfluous, Bio's regen is through the rough already. The reason my hit is higher, and your recovery is higher is because you have Efficiency Adaptation toggled, and I have Offensive. Once you select Offensive, which is what I recommend you running in, your resistances and defenses take a hit, but you do more damage. Efficiency is good when leveling though, especially if you are dealing with sappers. Barrier is great, definitely a good choice, I use it alot on many toons, Brutes included. But with Bio I tend to lean Ageless Radial for the recharge boost and debuff resists. Bio truly loves recharge. Edit: Cleave.... I'm still on the fence about this power. My slotting is tech subpar, but it is because in game I accidentally added an additional slot to Stamina so in the build I just robbed it from Cleave, but then I've found that I might've needed the additional recovery due to Darkest Night's heavy drain. Cleave is very situational for me.
  20. Couple questions... 52 pages... So.... Are these for low level tanks? Is there one on Everlasting? Or which server is most active? Wouldn't mind jumping into this party.
  21. I've gotten to where I don't really like putting controls on my tanks/brutes, I'll let support handle that. And Fold Space...half the people using it don't know when to use it. Can't tell you how many times I get a group together only to have them ported away. I'm mildly addicted to Energy Mastery, or more precisely Focused Accuracy. In my mind, tanks need to be debuff proof, or near too it. If I ain't hittin, I'm only gettin hit, and that stuff ain't cool.
  22. A buddy of mine was just talking to me about a Dark/EM stun build. It sounds interesting. But I wonder if it's really just a solo build. In an ITF, for instance, even the biggest murder balls are downed in 15-20 seconds, leaving only a few scattered stragglers to deal with. And with the radius of all the AOEs being only 8ft...I don't know... I did put one together though, and thinking about trying it out. The only thing I don't like about the idea is when the bad guys are stunned they tend to meander out of melee.
  23. I gave this set a go. It's not bad, and maybe it's my build, but it doesn't feel strong. I did go as far as getting most of his incarnates T4'd. Sav/Bio is more my speed. Brute (Battle Axe - Bio)-Final-shared.mbd
