Ehhhhhh, arguable. I don't think it needed more AOE or special mechanics. But the change has been made. It's fine for certain sets to be single target (or AOE) specialists.

Yeah not really. It's possible to play a completely ranged blaster if you choose to. That's always been true. For all of my blaster on live and HC they DO NOT close to melee. Ever. And they do just fine. It's really NOT required.

It's also insanely boring from a gameplay perspective. It's one of the things I distinctly don't like about those other mmos. After playing FFXIV for two months straight I appreciate the freedom more sets have here. 100x much appreciated actually. I guess it depends on what one is looking for in their combat-related gameplay. /shrug. EDIT: To be clear it's one of the reasons I play and played sets like Dual Blades an epic ton less than other sets. Staff fighting interested me cause it was a staff. I pretty much stopped playing it after rushing it to 50 and don't see myself going back. I found it less smooth and more restrictive than other sets I had played.

I've gotten multiple emails about Black Friday deals .. . before Halloween. Yeah retailers need the holidays to start as early as possible this year. (I don't blame them LOL).

Pass. The time of gated content is long gone. I would not mind if they introduced a few story arcs with gated costume pieces but I simply wouldn't bother to play them. I don't in any way think it should be a priority for HC though.

No it's really not. The utter and complete lack of content updates this year is. And that's no fault of the team. It's a small team. We're not going to see live updates as if it's a live team. If those folks who are pling weren't or couldn't they simply would be playing something else, not city of heroes.

Correct, and if you want AVs turn it up. No change needed besides putting in AV versions for those that don't have them. They should remain as EBs on base difficulty and below. This is meant as the SOLO path.

It should be the opposite way. If you want AVs turn UP the difficulty. It was meant as a solo path. Which is why they start as EBs.

So finished up Shadowbringers last quest tonight. (The final trial against I know there is a post game, but I just want to say this was one of the most rewarding final storyline battles I've played in a while, including WoW and City of Heroes. Overall it was a VERY VERY good expansion.

It . . . really isn't. I've not seen anything from HC that says they wanted to make the game any more challenging than it was, just that they were doing tweaks towards better balance. Not the mass overhaul that some expected and discussed in that long thread that had simply unrealistic expectations.

Completely disagree after reading the patch notes. With the amount of extensive work they've done there, I'm not at all shocked we didn't see large sweeping changes. If that's all the amount of work they have been working on all this time, I think the expectations of this thread were phenomenally unrealistic.

While I agree with the previous post, I'd also say I'd prefer as little time as possible spent with tinkering with overall game balance. I'm fine with it being just Page 6 or one or two more updates, but with the updates becoming maybe 1 -3 a year (unless something drastically changes next year) yeah I'd eventually like some new content also. If they want to buff/nerf/rework one or two sets, sure. Going for a full on re-balance of a game this old to me would not be a good use of time. Thankfully they seem to be on a more targetted path than most players in this thread would want.

I have a few heavy FFXIOnline grinders at my job. When they come on for video meetings you can tell they haven't been getting enough sleep. So much so that my manager commented on it. They blame it on their dogs, kids and heavy noise out their windows. 😛 Only I and a few of their colleagues know the truth.

I never . . . ever gathered when running my support ATs back in the day or currently. I just hit it as it's needed and the team is good to go. If you're in range fine if not, you get it next time. And no one complained if my buffs missed them even back in the early days of COH. Different playstyles I guess.

As much as I've been crowing about FFXIVOnline this is VERY TRUE in that MMO. You basically CANNOT proceed solo in that game.

Yeah I think folks (amidst their passion for the game) keep forgetting that we don't have a paid professional dev team. And that these COH Servers (including HC) are not quite, errrr, . . . commercial. I'll say that and leave it at that. 😛

Standard content is standard. If you want challenge dial you difficulty up beyond standard and go to zones like night ward, and pick missions mobs that aren't just council. For those of us who are here for casual play we have standard content.
