  1. I'm fine with that for now. They should get the changes out as soon as possible and if further tweaks are needed then they can go ahead and adjust after the fact with further patches.

  3. True, but I was more concerned about now having three Phantom Beings who can’t be killed stacking mez on top of what you’re stacking, on a character that has Perma Domination, Aka the City of Statutes concern the devs of old use to mention. Edit: But maybe I worry too much. LOL
  4. See to me this might be more of issue than the current Phantom damage they do that heals back overtime. And you’re right to mention it should be low magnitude. I can easily see something like this being more overpowered in the hands of a dominator than the way the Phantom Army currently functions. But hey, that’s what test server is for, and if they went with this way with Dominator Phantom Army, I wouldn’t say no. 😁
  5. Great point. It probably won’t go live as is if it’s found to be overpowered. And you’re right. With some of the other sets that have been ported over the years, I suspect it won’t be as bad as folks say.
  6. I’d be fine, as long as it’s marked CLEARLY in some way THAT those particular missions don’t give xp.
  7. It might make more sense to add these new difficulty options behind a new difficulty setting, so that it’s the user who is knowingly making the choice to see these new mire difficult mechanics.

  9. As already stated there are ways to get Phantom Army to be ported to Dominators. Those suggestions are viable and in this thread. Others agree. Not going to rehash it again. Reread the thread. Most are not arguing that it doesn’t need to change, as has been stated by multiple people more than once. The argument is against it being left completely out of the set when Illusions is ported. Again for the people in the back, Most are not arguing to keep it as is. The argument is about it being taken out completely when ported to Dominators. Clear now? Good. There are set defining powers in a power set all across this game. Illusions is called that because . . . It throws out Illusions as it’s main schtick. Take out the Main set of illusions then why on earth would you called it that when ported to Doms? Call it something else cause at that point it isn’t Illusions.
  10. Welcome to the City of Heroes forums. Also not only my opinion based on what I've read in this thread from others. The other options to keep PA I would be fine with as I've already said in the thread.
  11. Then you might as well not port it. It's a set defining power. Just create another set, but don't call it Illusions, cause it wouldn't be.
  12. If they nerfed the phasing and gave them something else I would be fine. My issue with Carnies is that the phasing makes them tedious to fight. Tedium does not equal difficulty, just annoyance and folks avoiding them. The sapping I'm fine with.

  15. Removing Phantom Army pretty much means I'll never make an Illusion Dominator if they ever get ported that way. Phanton Army is one of the MAIN POINTS of Illusion. I'd rather they remove Spectral Wounds. An AoE debuff would also be an insta skip power on Illusion got me. I've never taken the smoke power on any AT that has it or similar. Pointless in the new game meta that focuses on uber damage and mobs lasting less than 20 seconds now.
  16. As mentioned I can see them increasing the accuracy on the holds. I don't think Controllers/Doms are really hurting for control without this suggested buff though. YMMV.
  17. Which would still be a testing nightmare. As much as I'd like more balance, I would prefer if they spent that (extremely limited for a volunteer team) time anywhere else. LOL This isn't balancing IOs + doing everything else they want to. This is you can do this but then you don't get to do that. Personally, as much as IOs have been a problem, I would prefer they focus on other things (like FINALLY getting the tanker changes out, getting the Pet/Henchmen changes out, more content, new ATs, etc etc.) EDIT: Note that if this was a paid team that worked fully on this game 24/7, my responses would be different.
  18. I didn't even think of procs! That's another balance nightmare! Also I suspect that purples slotting isn't as rare as most folks suspect. (I know that every single one of my 50s has at least 3 purples sets-- I have more than 10 50s). Especially since they no longer cost 100 mill per IO like on live, coupled with how easy it is to get merits here than on live, coupled with enhancement converters. 😛 But you're right the only way we could know for sure is by the dev team datamining.
  19. Probably, but it would open up a can of worms so large it would probably take months to get out simple changes. If we had maybe 5-6 IO sets it would be easy. We sure hell don't. If I throw out a Sentinel setup, I would probably get 15 different responses on how to IO that toon out. At different setup ranges -- frankenslotting, mid-teir slotting, high level slotting, purple level slotting, ATO slotting. And that is only for ONE primary/secondary setup. (Notice I haven't even mentioned Pool Powers/Ancillary Powers/Patron Powers yet. LOL) Good luck to a purely unpaid team balancing all that out in any timely fashion as they make changes. 😬 Also who determines what is the optimal build type they are shooting for? (We have +recharge builds, builds that focus on defense, builds that focus on resistance, combos of them, etc etc.) EDIT: I'm not sure people realize how much work this would be if they did try to actually FULLY balance by IO, or even revamp IOs.
  20. Agreed. As much as I've fought against it for years I've come to realize this has been needed as I've spent the past few months getting back into COH. However, I don't see this happening EVER. The level of effort for a volunteer team (including having to take in the 100s of pages of feedback and literally months of testing data they'd have to review + squashing the EPIC amount of bugs that would probably surface due to this game's ancient spaghetti code) would simply be unrealistic. Time would be better spent doing what they are doing now with targeted buffs and nerfs to powers. I don't see an IO revamp happening here on HC (or any of the other servers) EVER.
  21. And I'm not sure what the solution is. I could see a slight buff in that department for both ATs. But then what happens to the high end or even mid-tier where IOs are concerned. Yes balance should be around SOs, but I'm not sure I'd be interested in what they take away for that buff, if they are trying to not make the high end too overpowered.
  22. I'm of the mind that NEITHER need them. With IOs they do just fine.
