I feel like there are a certain group of players who want this. Shield defense without shields. Stone armor without the stone. Stealth without the “fade”. Ice Armor without the ice. Fire armor without the fire. Now, HEATS that don’t shapeshift. Bland is what they want. Every toon running around with no identifiable powers and no weaknesses.

I agree He may have had an overall idea - but it’s very obvious just from watching 4-5-6 that he was coming up with ideas as each new one was made. Luke/Leia going from love interests to siblings is an easy standout.

Putting too much thought into this. If you don’t like leachers - don’t keep them on the team. If you’re not the leader, let the leader know that you won’t be sticking around. Give them a chance to address the leacher. No need for a “fix” when it’s something you can control.

More times than not, they can’t find their roots anymore/have no idea what made them successful in the first place. We shall see, but I’m not expecting it to be very good.

If it is, he probably needs to run the same numbers with defenders, also using blasters as the base. If defenders stay a consistent (again, made up number) 30% below blasters across all powers - there is an issue with Sent cold. However, if Defenders have roughly the same drop on cold - it’s not an issue. It was purposely designed that way.

For what it’s worth (and admittedly not very much) I think I understand what OP was trying to say. He wasn’t using blasters as a comparison, but more of a baseline. If using blasters as the base, he is saying comparable sent power do (we’ll just say) 10% less damage per same attack. But cold is doing (again just throwing out a number) 30% less per same attack. He just wanted it evened out. Dont know if I agree or not, and heck I could be wrong about what he is saying.

I think that can be said of most fans. Whether it be Star Wars, Star Trek, LoTR, MCU, etc. They invest so much into following, watching and reading that it almost becomes an obsession. They no longer just sit back and enjoy the journey like they once did. Instead they’ve become so fully invested that they begin setting expectations. They convince themselves that what they envision as the next step in the story, is so obvious, and will be the greatest thing ever seen, that it’s just plain impossible to go any other route. Then when those unattainable expectations are not met, the only possible explanation is that the person who created it knows nothing and has ruined the one thing in this world they love more than anything else. I don’t disparage or make fun of them. A lot of people go through life without that type of passion about anything….and I was the same way about the MCU

That just doesn’t make sense to me. Capping res and soft capping def is not that difficult on most, if not all toons. I don’t want to play that way. My squishies are squishy. My defenders will die in a heartbeat if I do something stupid. My blasters wait for tanks to grab aggro. Why? Because that how I want to play. So if players want to play without temps or incarnates, they can. They just have to make the decision to do it and follow through. At least that’s my opinion.

Would you really need another server to play a certain way? If there’s enough like minded individuals, they could meet up and run the content however they want - no P2W temps. No incarnates. However they choose. They could even start their own SG with the express purpose of only running certain ways. Seems much easier than a new server, IMO

You should always watch what you enjoy, regardless of the opinion of others. As for the man-children. I think you may be missing the point of what actually made them mad.

1. Throw hammer 2. Run/fly/jump/TP to where hammer landed 3. Pick up hammer 4. run/fly/jump/TP back into position 5. Return to step 1

Supposedly the first 2 episodes look Oscar worthy compared to how episode 3 will look. I guess 180mill doesn’t buy you much anymore.

If I’m familiar with the powers I’ve chosen, I’ll plan it out entirely in mids before creating the toon and working my way to 50. If it’s a new power to me, or even a power I’m gonna play differently, Ill just play and level it up naturally. That way I can figure out which powers are important to me, and which I can do without. Either way, I use SO’s all the way to level 50 - then I respec to fix anything that needs fixing, and buy IO’s

Quit telling him/her how to play!!! Everyone should be able to play however they want, even if they have no idea about all the options they have! 🙂

I see people complaining about mids, but I genuinely don’t know what the problem is. I’ve not had issues with it and am generally very happy with it. What issues have you guys so upset with it?

I don’t believe OP is advocating instructing a player how to play. Nor are they saying to tell newbies “this is best” They are simply saying that maybe we should just let them make their own informed decision - and we do that by giving them all the info they need. How can players “play how they want” if they don’t even know there is more than one way to play?
