Woke up early and decided to work on my Merc/Electric Master Mind. Atlas Park is stuck at: Task Manager: That's an awful lot of ram for COH. Some sort of memory leak on zone load?

The Graphics reset seems to have solved another long standing annoyance I have had. All of my characters were at a slightly different scale for the UI, despite the numbers being set the same. And everytime I switched characters I would have to fix the location/size of the ui windows. Specifically the buttons I have set up for powers.

On another thought given the age of the client, except perhaps/maybe for the physics, I expect the code is a single thread and everything is running on a single core, Or perhaps it has multiple threads, I've seen it cross 6% cpu and 1/32 = 3.1%

I have two monitors. Pushing ready in the launcher almost instantly gets me to the login screen. Also doesnt seem to get COH over 0.1% cpu usage either. After entering my pw and clicking login. On character selection I go as high as 1.8% cpu but mostly .3% to .6%. Character load got me up to 6.1%.

So far so good. Seeing other posts about random crashing so we will see. For my system no igpu to worry about on the desktop, I do have one in the laptop, but dont typically game on it unless away from home. With all the recent Windows updates and Amd Adrenaline it is hard to know where to look. Hopefully enough people will post for the common factor to be identified. Win 11 22h2 build 22621.675, GPU Driver 22.10.2, at the time of this post. I did have a near miss yesterday, perhaps related, I loaded the game and selected Indomitable and the game hung, completely non-responsive, after about a minute I got a couldn't load db server type message and everything was working again. This make me wonder if the other hangs are also db server issues except the client didnt stop waiting for a response.

I've reset the graphics options. We will see how it goes.

GPU Driver 22.10.1 No crash handler. Either COx Locks up completely or my system locks up completely.

Oh, and I have checked out the cell shader a time or two but do not, as a rule, use it.

I have had a few freezes, game stops entirely and I need to end task. This is new behavior starting today. What info do you need? 5950, rx6900, 128gb should cover the basics.

It is unbelievably amazing that someone is taking their time to maintain this for the community. **Thank you** I use 2 4k large screen tv's as monitors and Mids is not readable. Is there any way to enlarge the view? Dragging the corner of the mids window makes a bigger window but the text, icons, etc, stay the same size. Thank you

It would not bother me. At the same time we are still in a place where anyone who doesn't declare is assumed to be a cis gender, white, hetero person. Statistically not a good guess that everyone meets all those criteria but ppl sure do like to assume. Invisible, un-named, groups are easier to exclude and discriminate against, which is why so many ppl declare. IMO: In a world where orientation and gender identity are not thought of as any more special than eye and hair color, at that point no one should need to declare.

Virtue was the unofficial secretly official RP server. No telling what you might see or hear while moving about the City, specially in Atlas Park. The ERP could get annoying sometimes - do that stuff in private people - but not too often.

I'd like to see the API updated to something current. This would allow for newer technologies that would support better performance. As I recall the engine is dx9. I get this would entail a lot of work. Once the api is modernized lots more features would be available to update textures, models, etc.

This is a recent development so I dont know if it is Windows Update, or GPU Driver related. I forget if COH is DX 9 or OGL. I have read a recent windows update has problems with some dx 9 games. I work in Payroll and Accounting - So long as I am not working for Crey I'll be happily employed somewhere. Put up some Dream Catchers and hopefully catch me a Kheldon to combine with - happy with either type.

I'm on a Ryzen 3900x with 64gb now -- based on my prior Ryzen 1800x, could probably get 30-50 copies of the program running -- can you handle that level of bandwidth?

I was lucky enough to find Homecoming fairly early. Not at the beginning but within a few months of the public date. I was all nervous, made a character - I mean I had been able to use the character generator before with the City of Chat thing, but then I was in Outbreak...... and nothing worked. Quick reload and OMG I am really playing the game and the MUSIC hit me like a smell keying up memories. Then it was a matter of remembering how to do binds and macros. 🙂

Yes, unless you have the kb->kd io slotted in bonfire at which point it doesnt matter. Typically when I would use that combo I would be spamming fire cages (mass immob) not ring of fire.

My Controllers are Fire/Storm, fire/kin and a low level Grav/Storm, My dominators are many but the main is elec/elec. I usually take the single target immob on my controllers. It is the best single target damage at low/mid level. Even at high level if I need to burn a specific target I stack hold/immob as fast as they recharge. Also at end game/TF's a lot of big bad boys/girls have less immob resistance then hold. Nailing an AV's feet to the floor can be helpful. Stacking Ring of Fire and the Crey Cold Gun right at the start of the fight helps build immob up fast. On my main Dominator I dont know I will take Electric Fence - I have other better powers for doing damage. When I do want to immob Chain Fences gets the job done. As others have said the single target immob is as much a damage power as a control power.

Fire/Storm Corrupter - Freezing Raid + Rain of Fire + Snow Storm and everything just stands there and dies.
