Various thoughts on the subject based on having a lvl 50 PB on live and Homecoming. What is your plan to deal with status effects? The typical Squid Answer is to go Dwarf when held. With my Tri-Form PB I spend a fair amount of the time in squid form, not having the self heals in Human/Dwarf and all the other powers would be a huge detractor. For low to mid level squid is very powerful especially if you put all your slots there and max out the Nova form and attacks. End game and squid doesnt keep up with blasters and other high damage classes but does ok. Hasten doesnt trigger in Squid form, only human. Perma Light form does help a lot.

Sometimes this game just gives NPCs the most unbelievable dialogue
Zep replied to Major_Decoy's topic in General Discussion
I met the lady who did most of the NPC dialog back at a Meet and Greet in San Francisco when Live was still a thing. She was very in to her job and getting a lot of easter eggs into the dialog. -
Depends on your cpu, gpu, ram, and the resolution of your monitor. There is no one answer.

How difficult would be to make AH account wide?
Zep replied to MsSmart's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think a better solution would be to create a new, additional, account level vault with room for about 100 items of all tradeable types that all of your characters can access. -
If you were to add a zone to Paragon City...
Zep replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
I see many wonderful and likeable ideas. I'd like to see something a bit different. We have many characters with backgrounds stating they are from off world, eg alien, or cross dimensional. Like Fire Base Zulu (boy its been a while since I have gone there) I'd like to see a Fey Realm, one that has the magic Croatoa hints at, perhaps a wooded realm with giant trees and tree based buildings that is in a war with The Shivans and/or the Rularuu or some other group, asking for help in return for helping Paragon City by using their magic against the Rikti. -
Did the mobs get to move at all? I bet you even held the AV's though the triangles.

Just an FYI - still getting the occasional freeze. Got one last night.

I have been experiencing this too. I am on a gigabit, low latency, internet connection. I am on ethernet. I live alone so I can be sure no one else is using my internet. I have a reasonably spaced computer. I have found (since I have multiple monitors) that if I click into another program on another window, type something, then click back into COH the keyboard input will start working again.

I have a few /Storm guys. Fire/Storm Controller/Corrupter Storm/Electric Defender And more. For me Steam mist is a 6 slot power. You can get a decent amount of resistance for you and your team. Slotting Freezing Rain for Damage is not good. All those little 1's you see are a lie 🙂 The game rounds up and they are really doing more like .01 damage. Slot to debuff defiance, I'll also sometimes put in an Achilles proc, and/or some slow depending how you want to go, and a strong amount of recharge. This is your core power - making you and your team hit more often and hitting harder. Myself for the ones that have Hurricane, Corrupter/Defender/MM but not the Controller. I skip the KB to KD, I dont like it - using Hurricane is situational and takes practice. Some good things to do are: Stay back and do ranged damage/defuffs creating a safe zone for you and team mates. Run around the perimeter of a group tightening them up for nukes while making them unable to hit the barn wall from inside. Push groups into corners or keep them all flattened against the wall in smaller spaces while they cant do anything. Also slot for some serious end redux till you have a Cardiac Alpha. Overwhelming Force is a good one for Tornado, I like putting in an Immob Proc, and/or Achilles. Remember Tornado is also a Debuff and control power. It does stun and defiance debuff as well as damage. The KB to KD and/or Immob proc from Razzle Dazzle helps keep it on a target rather then moving all over the place, Lightning storm is a good one to use a high recharge, high damage, with decent end rudux set. Back on Live Lightning storm was the single most expensive ability in the game, with all the new sets and changes I dont know if it still it, it still costs a lot and you want to cast it as soon as its up. With a little speed boost help you can have 3 of them up full time.

I have a fire/storm Controller and Corrupter. Snow Storm is low priority for me, but useful at times. The longer the fight the more useful and the more end draining. Having a cardiac alpha helps. I'd say a Fire/Storm corrupter has more Burst and AOE - I do like and use Fire breath, the uber is Freezing rain, Rain of Fire, Aim, Inferno. Electric is better with the single targets, not that fire is poor, and has better power costs if I remember right. The difference between the two on a well functioning team is negligible because what your bringing to the team that is most significant are the debuffs in storm - go with what is more fun for you.

Looking at builds I have: In terms of theme, Elec/Elec Stalker or Dominator. Anything Electric with Storm aka Storm Electric Defender. Robotics/FF Master Mind DP/Dev Blaster - tech all the way

Had another freeze today. Occasionally I freeze on character load as well, with a Radeon Driver Stall popup. I'm thinking the latest version of COH does play will with the latest amd 6900xt driver.

In Path of Exile you can save your base layout to a file and share it with other people. I'd love to see something like that here.

We have not forgotten. We simply choose to not be a bitter, empty, husk, ever seeking vengeance. Kinda sounds like Banished Pantheon doent it?

Unless someone 'in the know' from NC Soft speaks we really wont have a clue what all the reasoning is/was for shuttering the game. COH was always my fallback game. Play WOW a bit, get board go back to COH, play StarCraft a bit, go back to COH, etc. GW2 was the last cash I spent on NCSoft, I had already pre-ordered when I found out. I played it a bit but wouldn't buy anything for cash. Now that I have had my game back I am willing to spend money on NCSoft again, so long as they allow COH to exist.

What would you change or add in a City of Heroes sequel?
Zep replied to Disruptor's topic in General Discussion
We hates the War Walls - they are fugly. I once was at a Meet and Greet with the original Devs in SF and unloaded about that I thought of the way walls - it was explained the way the system was originally build they couldn't (or perhaps wouldn't) do anything about them. I'd be happy to have one of those blue forcefields at the edge of the zone with some scenery behind it. Computers/GPU's now a days should be able to handle it. -
Charged Brawl - Electricity Assault not accepting call of the sandman
Zep replied to Zep's topic in Bug Reports
Ok so thats it. I had been going by https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Enhancement_Sets which does not list it as unique. Well then If I can only have 1 then I guess Static Field is the best spot. -

Thank you for checking -- the Dominator in question is 35ish and I tried other sandman pieces as well. I'll go double check I dont have another somewhere though just to be careful. -

Havoc Punch also says it should accept sleep sets. -
Would a dxdiag help?

On my Fire/Storm controller I use Hotfeet for either area denial or good damage as needed. Flashfire/fire cage/thunder clap stuns the group and holds them in place while tornado and lightning storm help with the cooking. Keep in mind hotfeet accepts slow enhancements -- it wont stop a mob from running up and hitting you but it will take them a min to get to you then they turn around and run away because their feet hurt. Any kind of slow from /cold should get mobs to their min speed. Many groups are 1/2 to 3/4 cooked before the stuns from flashfire/thunderclap run out though. Containment is only 75% instead of 100% unless that got fixed at some point. On live I had a fire/fire blaster (a true debt magnet) with hotfeet and it helped a lot with keeping mobs away from melee range.

Good mornings, I am curious how other persons have slotted Jolting Chain and Gremlins. Assuming 6 slots each. For context, currently lvl 35 Elec/Elec Dominator in my case. Thank you! -Z
