  1. Just a quick note if you need Inf for enhancements there are two things you can buy with merits that are generally good sellers: Enhancement Converters and Enhancement Boosters. Converters are 3 per merits and generally sell for 90K-110K each at the moment. Boosters are 5 merits each and are selling for around 1.5million at the moment. So if you need some inf for enhancements trading merits for those and selling them on the market is a good way to get it. Other than that I'll echo what others have said, level 25 IOs are a screaming good deal when you fact in that they're about the same strength as SOs but you don't have to replace them every 5 levels.
  2. Yes Attuned enhancements are great as you're leveling. I tend to buy several useful IOs for leveling. Knockback protection is one of them, the others I like to buy while leveling are the Miracle and Numina procs to go in health and some Luck of the Gambler global recharge IOs to improve my attack chain. Given the changes int he market here compared to live I've actually been buying more general purpose IOs while leveling but those are the critical ones.
  3. Ah, yeah that was the I24 Sustain changes. Basically all Blaster secondaries got updated to have one power which has a ton of recovery and either a regen buff, a heal over time or a refreshing absorb shield (this power also had it's endurance cost reduced to zero). The other majot Blaster change was to snipes. Now if you have a To Hit bonus of 22% or higher your snipe skips the interruptable portion of it's animation and has a much shorter cast time. They're going to change that in the Beta though, so it'll probably end up that snipes can always be fast-cast in combat and having extra To Hit gives them bonus damage. There are also some more Devices specific changes on the Beta server.
  4. There are three different IOs that give four points of knockback protection. The sets they are in are Karma, Blessing of the Zephyr and Steadfast Protection. In generla the easiest one for most Blasters to use is Blessing of the Zephyr since it is aUniversal Travel enhancement and can slot into any travel power. The second most popular is Karma since it's a defense set and can slot into Combat Jumping or Hover (although both of those powers can take Blessing as well Karma tends to be a little bit cheaper). As a side note, in theory you could slot up to five copies of each of those IOs although in practice that would obviously be overkill. A single IO will protect you from a large number of knockback effects (and all knockdown effects) and is generally sufficient for most of the game. Adding a second or third protection IO has some value but perosnally I only do it if I want the set bonuses, I don't do it for the kb protection itself.
  5. I wish I had known this before I attuned 2 purple sets! I just tried boosting them, and that doesn't work. If I want them boosted, I'll have to recreate them. What a pain. But thanks for the helpful guide. You can sell them and re-buy the regular type for about the same price. You'll lose the market fee but that's about it.
  6. All three builds can use the same incarnate powers.
  7. If any of the original devs are playing on these servers I'm pretty sure they'd want to remain anonymous, just in case.
  8. It's probably because it's a a relatively click-heavy market niche. On average you're got to convert each enhancement 5 times. I prefer niches with a smaller profit margin but where I only have to convert one or two times on average.
  9. Yes, but not much. It only gives about 1.43% To Hit on it's own so the main advantage is that you don't need to over-slot Tactics anywhere near as much. To hit 22% without the Alpha slot you need a total of about 87% pre-ED enhancement in Tactics (mean you're over-slotting quite a bit). With the Alpha slot buffing it you only need about 42% pre-ED slotting in Tactics. So it potentially saves you a slot or two in Tactics but that's about it, you'll still need Tactics and a Kismet.
  10. I am not a lawyer but I can't see anyway that other publishers would have legal standing to bring that sort of case. It would be like Valve suing Blizzard on the grounds that Overwatch makes TF2 less valuable (or vice versa).
  11. Have you tried the /get_global_name slash command?
  12. OP mentioned dead bids. So huge bids on level 53 Hami-os would be my guess. That's what I do. I favor putting a bid for 10 HOs at 100million each, it stores 1billion in a single slot and is easy to manage.
  13. Anything is possible, however I would think that having lots of privately run servers and a code-base that is readily available on the internet would decrease the value of the IP, not increase it. Most developers aren't going to want to buy an old video game where they have to keep sending out C&Ds to private servers that keep cropping up everywhere.
  14. You can sell them on the market or email them to a different character. You could also use enhancement converters to change them into an ATO for a different AT. It's probably worth selling them on the market, I don't know what the price differences are between the blaster and sentinel sets but you should be able to get some inf to put towards buying one of the sentinel sets.
  15. Your character isn't a Blaster, they are a Sentinel. Blasters don't get Focused Power Bolt, only Sentinels do.
  16. It should be in the CoH folder. If you can't find it then could you just type in the powers that you have? It could be an issue where a particular power isn't set to accept Blaster enhancements which is why I'm asking. EDIT: So in my experience when someone can't slot an ATE there are a few likely causes: 1. They are trying to slot it into an incompatible powers, for the most part ATEs can only go into damaging powers with the exception of Masterminds who can only put them into pet powers. 2. They have a Superior version and aren't level 50. 3. They have an ATE for the wrong AT. So to that end please check the following: 1. Check that the enhancement is actually called Blaster's Wrath and not Superior Blaster's Wrath 2. Make sure you are trying to put it into an attack. 3. Make sure your character is actually a Blaster and not a Sentinel, Defender or Corruptor
  17. It should be in the screenshots folder, you'll need to upload it to photobucket or similar. In the meantime can you tell us what powers and powersets you have?
  18. You can tell by looking at the name, if they are superior then it will say that in the name. However if you bought them for merits then they should be the regular one. So given that can you either give us a screenshot to tell us your powersets and which powers you have? You should be able to slot them so I'm not sure what's going on.
  19. Do you have the regular version of the enhancements or the superiors? You have to be level 50 for the superiors. That's the most likely cause I can think of. If that isn't the problem then: What power sets do you have? What powers are you trying to slot them in?
  20. Virtue tended to avoid using Pocket D for forming iTrials for obvious reasons and since Everlasting has a lot of Virtueites on it I expect that trend to continue.
  21. The thing is that has absolutely nothing to do with enhancement converters. It's always been possible to make tones of inf from the market. Now in terms of time:inf yes it is one of the most profitable things you can do in game but that's because relatively few people are interested in doing it. If you removed converters it would still be the most profitable way to make inf (it was on live after all, even long before converters were available). So removing converters won't stop people making billion of inf at low levels by playing the market, it will just increase costs for everyone else and personally that smacks of telling people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
  22. Why not, what downside do you see int he long term?
  23. I agree with the overall assessment, although I disagree with your interpretation of some powers. Body Armor: I agree that this power basically brings the entire set down on it's own. The basic logic that Auto resist powers need to be weaker than toggles is valid but the problem here is that Blasters only get a single defense power and an auto power is so weak it's basically worthless. This is then compounded by the I24 changes, since Blasters now get a ton of extra recovery they don't even particularly care about the end cost of running their armor toggle anyway. Personally I would prefer to just change it to a toggle and make it a clone of Temporary Invulnerability but I can understand that some people may not like that. So keeping it as an auto power I would do one of two things. Either keep it as S/L but buff the resistance to 12%-15% or keep the resistance the same but make it cover everything except psionics. Now the second option would be OP on a melee character but for a blaster I think it's not unreasonable. Cryo Freeze Ray: I agree with you , this one is fine. If I were making changes I'd give is a slow debuff as well but I don't think that's a critical change. Sleep Grenade: This one is interesting. Prior to I25 I would have disagreed and said that the AoE nature of it justified Sleep being a bit meh. The problem is that since then we've gotten several new Blaster secondaries that have proper AoE mez powers in them already. So I'm softening on the idea of giving Blasters some mez abilities. That being said, I'm not keen on making this a Mag 3 AoE Stun but I would propose making it a Mag 2 stun with a debuff of some sort (maybe -ToHit or -Damage) to put it on a par with Repulsion Bomb. Basically it's a power that stuns minions and debuffs Lts and Bosses to reduce their damage. Surveillance: Ok, this one I'm going to have to disagree with you on. Yes, Melt Armor is AoE, but Surveillance has a much shorter recharge time and a larger resistance debuff. Overall I think it's fine. Blasters don't really need an AoE resistance debuff anyway, they are much more likely to want a single target debuff for taking down bosses. So overall I think Surveillance is fine as it. LRM Rocket: So first off, I think the comparison to Bonfire is unfair. The KB to KD proc basically broke Bonfire as a power, so you're comparing a mediocore power to one that's incredibly OP at this point. That being said I agree that LRM is underwhelming. Part of the problem is the I24 changes to nukes. Previously the core difference between weapon sets and non-weapon sets was that weapon sets got a crashless nuke that had a shorter recharge and less damage compared to the nukes in other blast sets. LRM was originally balanced around that and in that context it was ok but now that all sets have a crashless nuke it's weakness is more obvious. So overall it needs some combination of more damage and less recharge. I'm ok with the interrupt, it makes it interesting to use (got to time it right with the tank) but the damage and recharge aren't really worth it.
  24. Why do they need to be removed from the vendor? Because it's over diluting the market. So what? If people can get the builds that they want relatively easily then that's a win in my book. There's still enough slop in the market that those of us who enjoy it can make a profit and everyone else can just trade merits for Converters or Boosters and use that inf to fund their builds. It's win/win.
  25. Yeah, it's definitely great to be back. Regarding changes to Field Operative, what changes are you talking about? As far as I can tell the stealth aspect is the same as it was on live, you don't quite have full stealth with it alone but stacking it with a Stealth IO makes you invisible to any NPCs except for those with perception buffs.
