What are you going on about? The first link you've provided, sure it's regen related-ish, but it's a topic suggesting a new powerset. You are simply doubling down on your strawman while adding little but clutter to this discussion. Let's break down your accusation below: Backing up the assertion that the set is popular with actual data.. that is empirical evidence. Maybe you don't understand the terminology? (fyi - most popular pairing looked to be Katana/Regen) Do you have some newer data points that refute the set being popular? I'd love to see new numbers but you don't have them, do you? Accurate.. the rankings were inaccurate? That's what they were on two separate occasions. Don Quixote you are.

so.. is it accurate to say: 45% defense and 90% resistance both decrease damage by 90% in typical content 58.75% defense and 90% resistance both decrease damage by 90% in Incarnate content 88.75% defense and 90% resistance both decrease damage by 90% in Four Star content

..there I fixed your statement to correctly reflect the number of people who post on the forum as compared to the number of characters created using regen. Your statement is subjective and anecdotal at best. My correction is as well. Making shit up is not a discussion. You've made a strawman to attack rather than provide any empirical evidence. Lots of folks have asked to have Hami Origin enhancements be convertible. A small minority has said it is not likely due to system limitations. (regardless folks still would really like to convert them) How popular is Regeneration? Per the Flavor of the Month thread 8th most popular on Brutes 1st among Scrappers 1st on Sentinels 6th favorite among Stalkers Per the Homecoming Statistics thread 8th most popular on Brutes 2nd among Scrappers (throw out even 15% of TW/Bio and regen is 1st) 1st on Sentinels 6th favorite among Stalkers

If so, and 59% is the new 45%.. thoughts?
-
..and that's a problem because? Lots of people happily play Regeneration in it's current state. Some have asked for a couple QoL tweaks. I like it because it is different. I wouldn't want to see it become same same with other sets.
-
Common or general agreement from other discussions. Regeneration could use some debuff resistance Recharge. This is one of the sets's achilles heal. Regen. Really this seems like a no brainer since it is Regeneration. Should be SR DDR level. DDR? nah, leave the chasing defense trap. MoG has an animation which is practically 20% of the power duration.. That's a bit punitive. Shorten the animation/cast time Extend the duration (just pick one or the other) **MoG has a nice +Recovery which may be under appreciated. Front-loading heals would be nice. Or at least shorten the animation-time-before-effect. Take a couple of the these minor tweaks and see where we are. If that's the nudge it needs we haven't 'reworked' anything and have stayed troo to what is a popular set. Regeneration is never going to be Invulnerability. That said, Regeneration should consistently have better regen than Bio or others. If it did, this wouldn't be a topic. There are always interesting out of the box ideas that pop up in Regeneration threads. Unfortunately, many would require a rework to implement. With a rework then comes tradeoffs from the existing set... It's rarely just plus plus plus, there are usually some minuses. If folks want an Absorb damage power set, it could be easier and less disruptive to just create a new power set. I'd support that.

I think the first post here is good stuff.. Then as I read some responses I start to wonder. Do some folks really play it, or did they just give it a whirl and then go back to their preferred power set. I have taken /regens through much of the game including bench mark and higher difficulty content. It can totally get the job done, it just does so a little differently. There is some anticipation and timing that comes into play which, to me, makes it more interesting and fun. It is nice to have a power set or two without chasing defense.

Update: monitoring Hit Chance has been a big help. While it doesn't alleviate the frustration with repeated high accuracy misses, it does take some of the mystery out of it. I think I do have a bit too much accuracy nearly across the board but it's not enough to really make any big change or even save a slot.

Purchase Experienced Buff with Empyrean Merits
Troo replied to Mythical Creature's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
CD5, yeah I'm just putting it out there. Not at you. I realized I shouldn't have gone Muscular on one character and it sure felt expensive to switch to a different ability. I was glad to have some emps left over. -

T4 an alt? I mean shit that's pretty awesome right there. Maybe try a different Incarnate ability rather than just the one suggested when coping a forum build. We can have alternate abilities. That'll gobble up the monster caches of emps. These are, of course, merely suggestions. Folks should play how they want.. unless they copied a build, then they're really playing someone else's way.. but I digress.. -
Lets talk - The negative part of the Double XP Buff.
Troo replied to Zewks's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
A lot of the game is choices and consequences. Wanna run a bunch of toggles you do 'need' 24/7, there's a cost. Want to maximize damage and ignore accuracy, go for it. Choose to ignore knowing what a sapper is.. well, there's no ignoring them for very long and still making progress. Hey look how fast I leveled up but now I can't afford that expensive build I found on the forum.. sucker I'd support a better disclaimer on the 2xp option. -

MAJOUR Sound overall from a Film/FX producer...but...

You may have already seen the above. Some folks that can point someone in the right direction or may have answers @Solarverse @AboveTheChemist @Oubliette_Red also -
A serious self assessment by Homecoming isn't likely. There's good and bad. The good outweighs the bad quite significantly resulting in a playable community server that we get to participate in just by showing up. Are there some changes I disagree with or dislike? Sure. Could things be better? Always. BUT players are not having to fend off all the malicious internet system administration requirements simply to keep this hobby chugging along while dealing with vocal community criticisms that run the gamut of social justice to measuring server ticks and the impacts there in on balanced game play. (see my sig) When I've spoken up, I feel I've been heard. That's all I think I can reasonably ask. So, @dtj714 good luck with that replacement project. I never had much luck finding a troo replacement and feel lucky to have any version of CoX to spend a little time with.

Do you want high sustained damage or chunky big hits? Either way it is likely going to involve Fiery Aura (for Fiery Embrace) or maybe Bio Armour (for Offensive Adaptation). Fiery Embrace + Build Up on a damage build can add a good bit of juice to a lot of options for chunky damage for something like Energy Melee. However other options could outpace over time with smooth consistent damage.

Thanks @ForeverLaxx. How much Acc do you shoot for in individual? This is more an exercise in "Do I shoot for too much Acc" with some explanation and discussion.
-
@WumpusRat That seems to indicate I am over shooting accuracy even when taking into account some debuffs. Working example that seems better than what I've been doing. Lvl 50 Acc/Dam HO providing 33% Acc 20% Global +Acc bonuses (purple set 15% Acc, 6% Kismet) 20% Global +ToHit 55% base for +4 (ignoring any level shifts) 55 * (1 + .33 + .20) = 84.15% 84.15 + 20 Global ToHit > 95% (correct?)

Whirling Hands has a 14s recharge. On a Tank it's a poster child for procs taking it from 120-ish damage to potentially 300+/- across 16 targets albeit with an 8 foot radius.
-
Folks might think it could be a Gravity/Energy/Psi Dominator with Propel, Psi Tornado, Lifting and Crushing but then that would be copyright infringement and subject to genericide per code of conduct and the user agreement. Cosplay away.

Update Still side by siding Betty's build and weighing compelling tradeoffs. Currently I've bumped up the Recharge Debuff Resistance to 100 and am debating if I have too much accuracy. If I can shed some accuracy I may chase some regen (which is currently woeful), if not I may add a healing proc to Gloom... Anyone happy with Entropic Chaos Heal Self?
-
Thanks @Spaghetti Betty The exporter makes it look like just one HO in a couple places. BUT this is a good thing as it has lead to asking how much ACC is enough and noticing I could chase more ResEffect 2 slotting Brawl with some Winters.
