  1. Back in the day, I had a character called The Traveling Man. He had every power in every travel power category. It was a pure "for fun" character, but he played like ass. Unless it was the Terra Volta trial. He was an illusion controller and I actually took Superior Invisibility since it sorta fit.
  2. Absolutely! Did the name check, it came up available and I knew the costume by heart.
  3. Depending on which machine I'm on, I play on a Mac as well. I've yet to have this issue, but definitely get other ones. Graphical and sound issues abound for me. What kind of hardware are you using and what version of mac os x are you running? Also, try resetting the NVRam. I've had other programs give me headaches on my mac and that usually fixes things. To reset NVRam: 1.Shut down your Mac. 2.Press the power button, and as soon as you power up the laptop, hold down Command-Option-P-R. 3.Keep holding down those keys for about 20 seconds. Then let go and allow your Mac to continue starting normally. If you have an older Mac that chimes at boot, hold down the keys until you hear a second startup chime.
  4. You can make a short, squat, green man with leaves all over him, give him plant/nature powers and call him Poke Salad. Name one other game you can do that with. That, is why this game rules.
  5. I would just like to say that this thread finally made me look up what FUD actually was. For the first few pages, I was laughing to myself imagining this:
  6. +1 and then some. Well said, PK, and so say we all.
  7. I didn’t see it listed, but I’ve noticed enhancements drop more frequently now. Before, I could play for hours and maybe see one drop. I’m getting several per mission now. Definitely a nice change.
  8. I got a couple villains to 50 back in the old days. Honestly? It was catharsis. The real world can be a bitch at times and sometimes, after say...a long and stressful ride from work, being a villain was a great way to release steam. Being a hero scratches the main itch, but sometimes...sometimes, a walk on the dark side is what's needed. My bad guys never were "world domination" types. They were always either wronged and out for revenge or just plain tired of the status quo and snapped. We all have bad days. Channel that anger into something destructive. ;D
  9. I look forward to the (hopeful) upswing in TFs and whatnot being run as DFB requests dwindle down. Lots of good stuff in this patch, thanks and keep up the good great work!
  10. My characters usually have realistic (as much as superheroes can be realistic) names, but my uncle has an Empathy Defender called Dr. Howe Yadoin.
  11. This feels to me like someone going into a restaurant, ordering an appetizer and then leaving. Weeks later, they come back, have a seat and begin to grill the staff and restaurant patrons about rumors they’ve heard about this restaurant talking smack about the one down the street. The person doesn’t order, just asks questions while people are trying to enjoy their night out and claims to not be there to cause trouble. My question is why can’t TC let everyone else enjoy their meal? If you dislike the restaurant so much, eat somewhere else. Right?
  12. Ok, so up until a couple weeks ago, I had no idea this even existed. I still don't know what SCORE is, honsetly. So, my question (like yours an honest question, not meant to engender drama) is: why does it matter? I'm genuinely curious why someone can't enjoy something at face value. Am I missing something?
  13. Know something I don't miss from when the game was live? Influence sales spammers. I remember being in Atlas and having to put a half dozen on /ignore just to not have a quickly scrolling chat window full of "Influence for sale. Great prices. Go to www.ihateillegalsalesspammers.com". That, was toxic in my opinion.
  14. 1. That's awesome. 2. If I were to quantify the negative people I've encountered, I'd put it at about .3% at the worst. I've only put one person on /ignore and that was someone spamming for a farming team. So far, my return to COH has been nothing but pleasant. Sure, you get the know it alls from time to time, but I've never had one be aggressive about it. I've seen people have all sorts of issues and the team would wait, be patient and offer help if possible. Knock on wood, but the good seems to waaaaaay outnumber the bad.
  15. I had this happen yesterday. Mac user as well. It froze and nothing responded, I couldn't even get to the desktop. I did a hard restart it booted to a white screen. I had to reset the NVRAM and everything worked fine afterwards. Reboot the Mac, the moment you hear the boot chime, hold down the Command+Option+P+R keys, when you hear a second boot chime you can release the keys, the NVRAM has been reset After NVRAM has been successfully reset, go ahead and let the Mac boot as usual. At this point it should (hopefully) no longer get stuck on a white screen. Hope this helps.
  16. Thank you for this write up! I was just thinking today about how to afford to keep up since (like all of us) starting from ground zero with not a lot of influence to work with. Slot 25 IOs and let it ride sounds good to me.
  17. So, I'm playing on a Mac and these may be mac only issues, but on some missions I get see through walls. It's almost as if the wall's opacity is down to 60%. You can still tell it's a wall so, it's not totally throwing me off, but it's definitely jarring. Wentworths doesn't have transparency issues, but it's floor seems to be trying to render multiple times and the texture moves as I move. Again, trifling and not a game breaker by any standard, but still weird. Anyone else have these issues? I'm running graphics at max, btw.
  18. Best idea here so far. Thanks! As for me, I'm just happy to be in the City again, taking it as I want and not rushing anything. There's a metric butload of content in COH, COV and GR to keep me busy for quite a time to come...and that's just with a couple "mains". Don't get me started on alts...
  19. I'm also a Beta person that played all through the years and a little after COV came out, I introduced my uncle to it and he took to it even harder than I did. Having this back not only made me happy, it allowed me to share some amazing news with him and really make his day. So, THANK YOU to everyone involved with bringing the city back!
  20. First memorable moment was joining up with other players and running missions during the beta. My friends hadn’t gotten invites yet, so I ran with a random group that ended up being a ton of fun. Even the Vahz missions. ;)
  21. So, first off, I'm playing on a Macbook Pro with El Capitan as the OS. On Friday, I bought and adapter to go to hdmi and pkugged it into my 4k tv. It was working amazingly until yesterday. At first, it was just when I was in a zone with cars and the cars sounds would loop until I flew up high. Then, certain powers started to loop. I tried a different character and ran a DFB team. It got so bad, I had to turn sound off completely. My question, is should I just relegate myself to just the laptop display or am I missing something?
  22. I'll chime in and say that I rarely seen enhancement drops either. This is from running normal missions, mostly. I'm on Indomitable and I may get an enhancement or two per mission, sometimes not any. It's hard to build up the influence needed for keeping my character fairly enhanced when nothing is dropping to use or sell. I'm at level 17 right now, btw.
