Not sure I can. I hurt my back last week. Let me clear something up. My criticism isn't on the power choices. Let me give some additional context and how logic plays into this. The toon is a fresh 50, vet level 1, created a few days ago. I PL a lot, I PL other people from time to time as mentioned above as well as my own toons. I get it. It's perfectly reasonable that someone picks flight, stealth, invisibility and phase shift on any toon. However because it was a fresh toon and there were no set bonusses, I see no problem asking if they have anything at all slotted. Why else would someone choose flight and invis on a toon? To fly to safety on any one of several farm maps. No criticism if that is the case. But that's the gist of my point. So don't focus on me mentioning powers but certainly criticize the fact that I have an issue with folks joining high level content knowingly (in my opinion) with absolutely no enhancements slotted. Regards, Dave

The IO, Luck of the Gambler, typically 1 slotted with the 7.5% recharge.
-
Yep, in my post above I mentioned that they could be mules. I'm not criticizing the power picks. He confirmed he had nothing slotted. Anyway just a gripe throwaway post.
-
You can't. If they have no set bonuses, I send 'em a tell and ask if they have SOs or generic IOs slotted. If I'm recruiting, I'll typically say "please be reasonably slotted'. Subjective but all I'm after is at least SOs for the higher level content. I'll PL people but that's different.

A year or so ago, I bought a 2XL off of Ebay. Works beautifully. Got tapes as well. Plays 8 track music too, which is something I didn't know. I remembered some of the questions, jokes and quips. Please press A, B or C now! Showed it to my niece who was 12 at the time (14 now). Kept her interest for a few minutes before she went back to her phone to watch other people play games.

I've found from time to time that some people join higher level teams, task forces, strike forces, what-have-you without having anything slotted. Was on an MLTF yesterday and there was an elec/shield brute who was vet level 1, toon created within the last few days and had powers like fly, stealth, invisibility and phase shift. OK, maybe they're mule powers? I asked and he confirmed he had nothing slotted. The worst part is that he didn't even run to the tree room for us and ATT and that was something he was perfectly equipped for. By the time I noticed and had asked him, we had already started the first mission. So he stayed on the team, contributing what he could. I've seen the same thing on ITFs but I'm sure it happens all over the place. So just a bit of a tip, take a look to see who's on the team and have a look at their builds if you're not interested in carrying extra weight. Regards, Dave

Yep because there are near zero defenses so the toon gets beat up a bit in large groups but that's the fun of it. Footstomp keeps 'em on their butt and the sheer amount of damage takes 'em out pretty quickly.

I'm not sure if it's in this thread but I made the SS/RAD mad king brute, it's super fun. Rage, meltdown, assault. Near zero defenses, decent enough resists and the heal / regen from rad armor. It's chaotic and fun.

Yeah man... I was surprised when looking at the graphic and the defense numbers and saw you were defense capped to everything. Had no idea what genesis was but it don't exist in game. Remove that and it's more what I expected. You should really uncheck all incarnates except for the alpha since it's on all of the time to get an accurate picture of what it'll be. Your fire/defense is too high if you can instead bring Melee and s/l up a bit. Then you'll be softcapped to s/l/f/c/M. Annnnnd the points Plyx made above. Thanks for sharing.

That’s a neat idea.

I went ahead and built this bad boy. It's fun. I ended up taking all of the storm powers because... it's fun. I don't use Hurricane often and snowstorm I'll use to pull enemies around the corner while the pets lay in wait. I also took bonfire for extra mitigation. Softcapped for ranged defense which is nice with so much going on in front of me. It's all I need to survive most encounters. I will *not* fall for this trap! See you next Tuesday.

Bopper helped me with my stone tank build a while ago. He runs 39.x mph in granite with the base empowerment buff. I don’t normally need or use rooted but I have it. It’s just plain fun to run enemies down. With a single SB it’s 60ish IIRC. He’s softcapped to defenses and hard capped to resists. PSI being the biggest hole. I have a lot of alts but I play the granite every now and again. Unless you’ve filled up all 1000 slots, why not make a granite? Cross punch is a must have btw. The old granite pimp slap. I’ll post Bopper’s build that I’m using shortly. Thread: Regards, Dave

I've been having fun on my ninja/storm MM. Can be tough to manage at times but he does pretty OK. Thugs would also work conceptually. Thugs/dark has great synergy and you can also get burnout so you can use gangwar and howling twilight back to back. Fearsome stare is also pretty neat. Just a couple of ideas but you can make anything fit the narrative.

Male face 2, white drawers, red cape and yellow rubber boots and gloves. You’re welcome.
-
Yes. There are other conditions around dual boxing. A single machine isn’t one of them.
-
Thanks buddy. I got the message.
-
Elec affinity is supposed to have good synergy. I had a trick arrow on live and that was a lot of fun. I used to command the big guy to light the oil slick. With the modified pet AI, bots are supposed to prefer range over melee so that may also benefit trick arrow. The downside of TA is it lacks buffs. All the best with whatever you choose.

I know alpha does. Do interface and hybrid as well? Thanks, Dave
-
I think it works because I know it does in the kinetics repel power. Pretty sure this is used in cane as well. Will confirm. Edit: OK, I sit corrected. I guess the kinetic repel only does knockback but hurricane does repel and knockback. I'm still going to take it. I'll just be responsible. *ahem*
-
Nah, they won’t kick me. They might quit. I just have to make sure that I recruit. I can also kb to kd in everything although the chaos aspect of kb does make me giggle a little. Or maybe just a kd in hurricane and tornado. They’d still flop around like fish. Decisions decisions.
-
I haven’t played ninjas since live and I don’t recall what I paired it with but I’m thinking about a chaotic build. This seems like it could be fun. I was considering kin but aside from repel, not much mitigation to keep the ninjas up. I imagine trying to heal them indirectly could be a challenge. Any ninja stormies have good, bad or indifferent things to say? Thanks, Dave

Fire. I'd be replacing aim with burnout if I do it. I could get rid of Fire Breath but it offers a nice set bonus. I could drop ice shield (I don't have glacial shield) but I want to be at least a little helpful. Tight on powers/slots for the bonusses (he's softcapped to melee and ranged) as well as some other nice chunky set bonuses. I'll probably leave it for now but yes even for the back to back infernos would be fun.
-
Thanks for confirming. I have a 20 second recharge on sleet and I double up all the time. 97 second recharge on heatloss (only a 7 second downtime). Burnout would replace Aim in my build (at the moment) and the recharge on that would be 500 seconds so just north of 8 minutes. Decisions decisions ...
