TL;DR!!! @Sovera Thanks for providing both builds. I decided to go with the Triple fire tank. I'll start him tomorrow. I'm also going to start my new Sentinel. A triple fire. Would you mind offering any guidance on building a Triple Fire Sentinel?

Fire/MA: the Brunker, and compilation of Fire Armor builds.

RISE, OH FIRE ARMOR POST!!!! Ok, now that it has been properly necroed, I have a question. When is the last time you ran a pure fire build? -
I'd like to thank everyone for their assistance. I have some homework to do.

Ok, I'm finally ready to learn more about procs. Is there a guide somewhere on how they work and how to build for them? Like, is there a certain accuracy and recharge speed you want in your build, or the powers themselves? How to choose which powers to proc? Should you proc along the way, or wait until you get to 50?

I must have missed it in the previous posts but, what time does this take place?

New-ish Player / Conventional Wisdom question

I'm not going to summon anyone, but thank you both, Zect and Plvrizr. I now have a template for earning the inf for my Rad/SS. He's been setting at 48 with just generic IO's for close to a year. I first rolled him because that was the new king of farming back then. I do have a question, though, as I come for playing mostly Brutes and Scrappers. How is the ST damage? When I solo AV's, I normally do them set at +2. I'm fine with with doing them at +0 or +1.
-
I had a FM/BIO and got him up to about 24 before I scrapped him. (Ha Ha, I scrapped a Scrapper.) He was tons of fun. I had just watched a Ben 10 marathon with my kids, and I realized I could make Swampfire in CoX... Ok, I'm rerolling.
-
It's the shield itself. I once had a 50 Elm/Shield Scrapper. I know it's a little thing, the way the body moves when the toon is carrying a shield, but it kills it for me. Kind of like Stone Armor. I'd love to play one, but I hate the aesthetics. Yes, even the crystal one turned to look as transparent as it can.
-
This is perfect! It looks like the only actual expensive things are the ATO's.
-
I huess I could roll up a toon on Victory. I'm currently having a case of Altitis, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I wanna do this one day...

Hi all, I started an Elec/Shield Stalker, then I remembered why I don't make shield toon. With that said, however, I am wanting to keep going with Elec Melee. I'm thinking of going Invuln because it was one of my favorite Brutes. I'm just not sure how the resistance works with Stalkers. And yes, I'm aware that Invuln is a Res/Def hybrid set. Which other armor sets would you recommend, and why? Are there any that just synergizes with with Elec? P.s. No Stone Armor either. I just can't stand the aesthetics.

Ranged focused Brute: Is it possible, effective, or just crazy?
Gobbledygook replied to taigakirdape's topic in Brute
Thanks for reminding me that I never watched this. And now I have to make a Kin melee toon. -
So, I finally got a blaster past 22, and I am having an absolute, wait for it, BLAST! I have been toying around with hover blasting, but I want to mix it up in melee range a little as well. Primary will absolutely be Ice, as it is what the character concept is based off of. I am thinking of either Ice or Energy as a secondary. I would like this to be an all around type build. I don't need to farm, but good AoE damage is nice. I do enjoy soloing AV's on my Scrappers and Br00ts, but not necessarily. I plan on running contact/radio mishes after I get out of Outbreak, until I can run TF's. At 22 I will get some lvl 25 IO's, and just equip these until 32 or so, when I will start slotting IO sets. Of course, I want to be exemp friendly, as well. Would it be a better idea to start slotting IO sets earlier? With the desire to blap, what secondary would you choose, and why? Would you just slot attuned enhancements? Which defense types do I need to focus on? Are there any skippable powers? Is frost breath any good? Edited to add: AS I mentioned previously, this is a toon where concept is king, so I would like TP, Combat TP, hasten and Superspeed as mandatory for concept. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hey all! After coming back from a break, I finally decided to try some non melee toons, and I'm honestly having a blast. I've already gotten a Blaster, Controller, and a Dominator all to the low 30's in just a few days. Now, however, I want to try out a different AT. Altitis can be a pain, sometimes. I'm stuck. I know I want to do decent damage, but I also want to buff, de-buff, and heal. All from range. I want to hover, help my teammates, and feel like I'm helping to kill, as well. Which AT and powersets would you choose, and why? I am interested in Elec, Energy, and Ice as far as attack set goes.
-
I agree with everything said here. I still wish they'd add some splash damage to incandescent Strike.
-
I'm liking some of these ideas. Thunderstrike is the attack you're thinking of. Maybe, lol. Honestly, I wish they had done this during the revamp of EM, instead of turning Stun into Power Crash.
-
I think I am going to go either Elec or Inv as a brute, and save Fire Armor for a tank. Do you still have to take the stealth type power in EA to softcap defenses? I hate having characters I can't see, lol.
-
Thank you, I will have a look at this after after I recover from this evenings social engagement.
-
If I did go Elec, is it alright to just build for Res only, or do you need to chase the Softcap? The only res set I have ever done both on is Inv, for I think fairly obvious reasons.
-
Tldr: Which would you choose, to pair with Em out of Dark, Elec and Energy, and why? Mid-level budget. Hi, I'm thinking of rolling up an Energy Melee Brute, but I have a few questions first. Is Power Crash a skippable power on Brutes like it is on Scrappers? I do have an EM Scrapper, but when I was reading up on EM when the changes were first made, someone on that thread said that Power Crash was only good on Tankers. I would like to have a decent AoE chain that consists of more than Whirling Hands and the Incarnate AoE. If I could avoid taking up power choices with Epic Pools, I'd like to. Now, I know that the typical response to shoring up that lack of killing multiple mobs at once is to pair it with Rad Armor. Remember that EM Scrapper I mentioned earlier? Yeah, you guessed it folks, Em/Rad. I typically try to avoid redoing combinations though. I have a few other toons that had armor sets that I enjoyed, but haven't played in a long time. Fire Armor, Invulnerability, Shield, Super Reflexes. Yes, even Regen were all taken and enjoyed. Yes, even Regen. I have a concept for a Inv and a Wp that would work. I normally don't tank on teams, at least not as the main tank. I like to think of Brutes more like a heavy Scrapper. (side note: my new headcanon is now that the melee toons are split up into weight classes. Stalkers are Lightweights, Scrappers are Middleweights, Brutes are Light Heavyweights, and Tankers are the Superheavyweights.) My goals on characters is to deal enough damage to solo a +1 AV, and stand up to one long enough to do it solo. My secondary goal is to be able to tank for a team, with support. There are other armor sets that I am interested in trying though. Elec, Dark, and Energy being at the top of my list. I want to save Bio for an Bio/Ice tank concept I have, and Ice for either a Stalker or Scrapper. So what it really boils down to is, would you choose, to pair with Em out of Dark, Elec and Energy, and why?

I'll be there with Scarlet Prime, Rad/SS
-
Thank you! I will be able to be there. I just can't decide between Fire/Em or Elec/Em.
