  1. While I remain cautiously optimistic about whatever negotiations are going on - because if they just wanted to step on us they could have done that from the beginning - I am concerned about the 'community' angle. I like HC. I've been comfortable playing here. But if NcSoft decides that there will be only one legit server group, and it is run by Titan Network, then I doubt I can stick around. Though I admit it has been a long time since I lurked around their forums, and some attitudes may have changed.
  2. Back on the live game, you had to make sure you got this badge while you were Hollows-level, because if you defeated a Coralax when it was grey enough to give no xp, it wouldn't count towards the badge. Has anyone tested this to see if it is still true? I am going over my old 'must do this at this level' spreadsheet, and making corrections for Homecoming.
  3. were you using a previous version that wasn't slow? No. This is a new computer, only a few months old. I downloaded from the link, ran the setup, and like I said, it seems to work. I also checked to make sure I have .Net Framework installed. It runs really slow, and locks up so often it is unusable. I suspect a NF problem, because when I close the designer it gives me an NF dialogue box. But the box doesn't have any text, and disappears before giving me any. ETA- I realized I had forgotten to include one bit of information. I run a two monitor setup. I would have HD on one monitor, and my notes on slotting, etc. on the other. HD would run fairly normally, if a bit slow, until I accessed the second monitor. Then it would turn to stone. After originally posting this, I saw that you put an update up. I downloaded it, and decided to install it on a thumb drive as a test. It is running fine, and I am not having the two monitor issue, at least so far. I will let you know if it comes back after I install it on my hard drive. ETA 2- I installed it on my hard drive, and it is running great. I have no idea what changed from what I was using before, but whatever it was worked. I am getting the first time popups sometimes, but that's minor compared to before. Thanks!
  4. The designer seems to be working fine, except that it is slow as molasses and constantly locks up. Any suggestions?
  5. Okay, I've heard lots of cow character jokes, but I think putting Moo Mastery into the hero designer might be taking it a touch too far.
  6. For the ATOs, do you still need to buy one type of pack to get certain AT types, or are they all in both types? And if it is specific, are Sentinel sets in either of them?
  7. Personally my expectation is that some people will complain because they always find something to complain about, and others will be grateful for the extra time we got beyond all hope.
  8. I don't get the complaining because I'm just too darned happy to be back. The other night my duo partner said, "Isn't it great to be hating this map again?" "Yeah. Sure is."
  9. I'm with you (I once told a teammate, "what giant robots? I didn't have a chance to see anything but the team health bars") but I understand the competitive feeling. Also, I used to be part of Pinnacle's Katie runners, where we all knew the TF by heart, and loved it. They were speed TFs purely because we all knew exactly what to do when.
  10. These are the same sort of people who flip out if someone doesn't instantly reply to their RL texts. Our current world of instant communication has made some people forget that not everyone can reply right back.
  11. No more team size minimums for TFs? *weeps with joy*
  12. Personally, I am getting 'seriously tired' of players who willfully ignore that Homecoming is not being run by NCSoft or any other company. It is a group of hobby volunteers generously giving of their time and energy so that other people can play the game. Play it for free, I might add. No one has the right to demand anything of them. They are letting you play in their sandbox. Kicking sand in their faces and claiming they owe you a bigger, better sandbox is a serious jerk move.
  13. A fire/electric blaster named Red Savina... after one of the hottest peppers in the world.
  14. I remember back in the day we used a particular mission for our heal badge farming. It had these crystals in it that did low enough damage that a self heal covered it. We would have the toon stand near the crystal so it took damage and leave it auto-healing all night. Since it was inside a mission we didn't get logged out. I don't remember the exact mission, I'm afraid, but actually any one that has damaging elements like fire could be used, just as long as the heal could keep up.

    Dark/ ?

I'm having a lot of fun with a Dark/Willpower, but I'm only L13, so it's too early to be able to point out specific problems. I will point out that Willpower gives you ample places to put global and especially useful IOs, if you are into that.
  16. I'd forgotten about that! That just may be the answer. Thanks!
  17. It isn't far enough from the entrance to justify teleport points. For one person, it is the next room over from the entrance. I think they've just gotten really tired of running back and forth, even though the distance isn't far. Though this might be the fall-back position if the complaining gets too loud.
  18. Has anyone tried this? Has it worked where whatever 'glowy pillar' you exit from, you come back in the same one? My base has multiple hardcore crafters. Each has their own private room with storage bins, a vault, and a worktable. The only time they have to move away from their custom built workstation is to run to the entrance room, because the /ah command to access the auction house doesn't work inside the base. I'm the base builder for the group, and have been asked if it is possible for each to have their own glowy pillar. I don't want to mess something up, so I wanted to ask if anyone has given something like this a try.
  19. In the old days, my friends and I would have coalition SGs where each person had their own storage base. This solved the quantity problem, for the most part, but was very inconvenient, involving lots of swapping stuff between toons. So I suggest this - adding a permission to the coalition section to allow access to storage bins. We already have entry permissions. It would be very handy if I could have Toon A who is a member of SG X stop off in SB Y's base to drop off some salvage that I know Toon B needs. This permission would not be on by default, because obviously this would only work for people who trust each other. An SG would need to turn it on.
  20. As a lifelong packrat, I would like to put in my own request for more than 18 storage items per base. My SG is a small group of friends, and each are given their own room with a salvage bin and enhancement bin. Those who do a lot of crafting get more than one. Then throw in the vault, and at least one community inspiration bin, and, well, 18 comes fast.
  21. I like this option I do, too. As was discussed in the previous thread, the majority of PW is just as useful today as it was when the live game ended. A Homecoming Wiki could be created that linked back to all the still-good pages on PW, while linking to its own pages for things that were updated.
  22. Would you mind linking where they have said that it is okay to mirror/scrape the wiki for derivatives? Thanks! PK beat me to it, and saved me from having to dig up the link. But yes, they have given permission for the new servers to build on their years of wonderful work to make their own wikis, which I think is very generous of them.
  23. Paragon Wiki has already put out a statement that it will stay with the game as it was when it went down. PW can't possibly stay current with all the different groups. They have, however, said they are open for anyone to copy PW and edit it to fit their particular server.
  24. I use the keymapping in the game to run all my powers with my right hand on the numpad. For my dual blades scrapper, I set up the power order to make running the combos easier. 1 - Nimble Slash 2 - Ablating Strike 3 - Typhoon's Edge 4 - Power Slice 5 - Vengeful Slice 6 - Blinding Feint 7 - Free 8 - Sweeping Strike 9 - Free 0 - One Thousand Cuts This makes the combinations 1-2-3, 1-2-6, 2-5-8, and 0-4-3. The last one is a bit awkward, but isn't used very often.
