  1. underpowered gpu, internal to cpu.  looking at asus site x515 has been series model for many generations. looks like you have one of x515ea (11th gen i5)

you may have a gpu NVIDIA® GeForce® MX330 (2GB), if is i5/i7, this would be in addition to your on cpu graphics.  depends in model of laptop.

time based slowdown, thermal may cause issues, is system heating up?

    get good laptop cooling pad.

kill any and all background processes, browsers, music apps, anything bon necessary at all times when gaming in system like this.

    good luck.

  2. a good resource is here: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/powerset.html?pset=controller_control.symphony_control&at=controller

symphony is a damagey set.  youll find a few build threads in the dominator forums (one on symphony/fire id agree with, but prefer symphony/dark)

on controller, lets get secondary put of the way.

symphony is cone heavy, meaning youll want to be 30-40feet ft your targets most of the time.

    cold dom would work well.

    as would storm summoning.

electric affinity / dark affinity are always good choices.

symphony has a good disorient cone, which tocks for a great deal of damage.

it has a cone fear that damages, a sleep cone that (importantly) also does damage down debuff.

its single target confuse deals damage, and can be swapped in as an attack power in a single target chain.

its aoe hold is mothing special, and can be skipped. it, like the others has an obscene  base cooldown.

standout also in symphony os its pet.  it echoes symphony skills you do, on a delay of a few seconds.  it will elect its own targets for this.  so it ends up overlapping your fear, sleep, hold, disorient and confuse effects.

it, like other pets, can get stuck on walls or not keep up at times, but its tolerable.

personally, i like symphony on dominator - as the damage there is quite high when matched with very solid control.

    Mind Control.  Pffft.

Symphonic Control is the S Class control 🙂

it does eclipse mind, and imma mind fanboy.

symphony/dark dom with combat tp (for dark pbaoe in and out) is a joy.

    symphony/fire, or symphony/thorny too.

the echo pet is undervalued, it contributes a lot of magnitude, which on dom, is like putting mag 9s with a slight delay on the +3.

  4. benefits of mind:

no projectiles, hit on cast execute.

mesmerize - its awesome st at lvl 1, has boosted range.

mass hypnosis - while cast time 2s, it takes effect in 0.9s, making it feel, and practically be, very quick. 45s base recharge.  its problem is thats all mind really has on tap besides terrify.  and it breaks when a mob is hit.

telekenisis - good (toggle) but nerfed into the ground to only affect 5 monsters. contract this with teen abilities like static field, earthquake, ice slick, cold snap, fearsome stare (at lvl 8!)... it should hit more than 5.  benefit most for dom mag stacking.

terrify - good cone. but not as good as illusions repeating spooky immune pet and its built in tohit debuff, nor symphonys cone (because of reverberant echo), but is better than darks fear cone.

total domination - too long CD. its one of the 4 min ones. less hasslesome when higher recharge in build, but people spamming nukes on other at that do as much as 65% to hit debuff, floor defense, or just kill them... theyre doing this at half the base recharge of the aoe holds.

mass confuse - decent, but inferior to seeds of confusion, arguably the elec chain confuse. why? too long base CD.

to not be horrifically underpowered on control classes, id suggest:

    if you wanna cc lots:

    earth

    dark

    ice (since the buffs)

    symphony

    elec

    plant

if you wanna fold space and /kin:

    gravity/kin

    fire/kin

if you want a spot on hard content and a bit of tohit debuff AND a immune tanker:

    illu/dark

if you wana mind-like, with less trash and better overall oomph:

    fortunata.

  5. @Rinwen, kupo, you have to try elec control if you like sleep.  it is unsurpassed (its called static field) as a sleep skill - because it pulses.

this means when you or others hit the monster, it can go back to sleep, and will.  it also recharges quicker than its expiration with even moderate global recharge.

oh, and it also does end drain.

MIND - its best is telekinesis, on a dominator.  because a floor of mag6 hold you can toggle onto a hard target.

however, tbh, mind is eclipsed by symphony on dom for me.

on controller - it is hard to beat dark/dark - they cant hit.  its sorta boring tho.

elec/elec is a splendid support on controller.

if I had to take mind, on controller... mind / time, mind / kin... something to get that awful recharge on mass confuse down....

oh, elec has a chain confuse on a shorter-than-4m cooldown also.

  6. in ff11, you could level down, and dying cost about 8-12h grouped xp farming. 1x death.

its been lowered from what it was on HC. i like it, in that its barely noticeable, especially with double xp buffs and patrol xp across a set of alts.

youd have to be dying a lot for it to seriously impact you?

that very boutique has been known to be where I, Figs, design and produce my amazing costumes!

And its compact, sized JUST FOR YOU!

there's a full surround of deep sea waters, with only a minimum of sharks, and that motivates the swimmer towards success!

so, I humbly submit to you the BEST BASE to make YOUR TP ZONE OF CHOICE -->>  ISLAND-8714

but Figs, I know you're famous, but how do I get to  ISLAND-8714?

Not sure what won't condone is implying as TA allow is rather solid. Also, the pairings don't make a lot of sense. Kin/rad not being a pairing is quite the omission.

kin/rad (many pbaoe) is a solid one, and works fulcrum.

i just dont like ta on defender.

Because the game needs money sinks. Think about it. Once you are level 50 completely slotted out with all the purples, there is little if any cost you have to keep paying. You can play that character however long you want and you will only ever spend inf if you want to on things like costumes and things. Other games like WoW have repair costs. Or you lose money when you die like Diablo. But CoH has virtually no "maintenance" or "upkeep" costs. Pretty much the only thing you have to do to make money is get a level 50, get them kitted out, and simply play it. Anything you get is a net gain, no matter what you do. And you can make over a billion even with casual play on a 50 that you don't spend money on. When it comes down to it, if you make fewer alts, you have more money. But making alts is a big part of the attraction in CoH.

I mean, the alternative thing is that they offered actual power/special enhancements for money, but that's more or less pay to win, trading money for actual "power" which I hope everyone involved agrees is a bad idea. To get a full purple 6 piece set at 20m apiece that's already 120,000,000 or more, assuming you are just buying them from the auction house.

Finally, the dev's don't actually set prices on things, barring situations where they seed winter sets in the AH. (I have no idea if they actually do that or not, but that's the rumor.) As far as I am aware, the player market has set the prices on Aethers. The devs just put how many are needed for X teir costume, but its the community who decides how much each Aether costs to buy. "That's" why they cost just over a billion.

And they are a cosmetic luxury item. There is no difference in gameplay between someone with or without them. And as silly as it sounds, cosmetics can be BIG in some games. Wings, pets, auras, special armors etc can all be big money, both ingame money and real life money. People will pay to look pretty.

No one is twisting your arm to have the special auras. Not having an aura has zero impact on your characters power or abilities. Its just something you can work for and enjoy having. And honestly I wish we had more of them. Personally the only one I want is the mini-me one. But I am not willing to fork over the inf and just buy the Aethers for them, I am just taking my time doing weekly hardmodes with my supergroup until I get enough Aethers for them. So technically, these auras are free, if you are patient and do the content that rewards them.

too much farm, mentality towards suffering of a goal, called aspiration, and consume/wasting of time.

theres no perma 50 for me, and i may be oddity.  theres reroll once 50, and the level / build cycle.  each kitted with fancy ios from lvl 7.  you can carry teams.  despite the inf cost, i have some dozen with cot guide robes.

too much inf for that. just means i have to farm.

skins shouldnt cost 100 / 200 USD, and ive bought a few in other games.

in gatcha, well after ~120k usd over mobius ff, genshin, and tokyo ghoul I'm forbidden.

with firsthand exp i can tell you - its being eaten, looking pretty or no.

i like that coh is different in this regard.

but 1.125bn is too much, in my opinion. i dont want ti run big mob tunnels 80 (more) times.

    i suppose ive grown tired.

games like wow had capture cycle of good challenge content, and evolution in need of gear for baselining entry to next tier.

there isnt that in coh, just repeating less than a handful of activites for reasonable accrual, and literally 1 every 2 or so regular tf.

300 citadel tf sounds like much bumping into walls while running.

    yin doesnt really drop them.

    quite frequently posi 1.

never, for me, not once, from end of mission.

I mean... yes and no? But mostly no.

For one thing, there are only like eight of them. Ten or twelve if you want to be generous and count low-FX options for things like ice and stone as separate "auras" from the full-FX versions, I suppose. For another, they're all full-body options. Plus, PAPs in general are yet another hyper-specialized currency we didn't need in a game that already has multiple redundant currencies that either don't do much, don't do anything except convert to some other, useful currency, or only do something to a point and then just keep accumulating forever to no benefit (why can't I spend Incarnate threads or Vanguard merits or Astral merits on this stuff?).

When I can have Electric eyes and Starburst hair at the same time, or Fiery fists in combat and Smoky fists out of combat, or -- like Anti-Matter has -- both Alpha and Atomic body auras (and does he also have an eye aura on top of that? It's hard to tell), I'll be satisfied. Until then it's all half-measures.

i dont know why they have to cost 1.125 billion inf.

  12. dont be sad @Snarky i even made you an amv

(vampire in the garden/scottish widows REMEMBER REMEMBER)

nothing saying they cant cause light emission, maybe theyre blinding a person?

though you might think that neural disablement versus burnout...

    https://www.caverns-and-creatures.com/5e-spells/complete-guide-to-blinding-spells

theres some ways to blind a thing, though i prefer warhammer. where the reagents required for 'blinding flash' are a 'magnesium strip'.

the whole thing about light aversion was to make people who murdered and did cannabalism more spooky by associating them with night time, or light sensitivity the next day if theyd become nocturnal. your more likely to get tips from the populace: 'i saws me the vumpur, i dids'.

most monsters are stories made to create a terror from very real human activities, kupo.

It's the difference between Weave and Hover/Combat Jumping.

but one just needs to swap kick and punch for tough and weave, or allow tough and weave to be selected at their minimum level with 0 prereqs, or weave requiring 1 (i.e. tough)

you dont need to half this or that.

just go for the quality of life for the player, I say.

combat jumping costs almost NOTHING end wise to run  and improves movement.

hover provides knockback protection in the flip animation, shortening it, modifies movement, is affected like combat jumping by swift/hurdle, and so on.

stealth makes you unseen, costs more end, suppresses and on.

    very differing powers.

tough/weave cost significant end, are narrow in what they resist/defend against, and are boring but necessary for survival padding in many builds.

  14. rly repends loads on primary.

kin >> fire/elec/sonic/dp/seismic/rad (take combat teleport for fulcrum placement)

dark >> dark (they cannot hit)

    ea >> elec/sonic/dp

    nature >> sonic / seismic

    sonic >> fire?

    ff >> f it, energy / seismic

    empath >> sonic/fire/storm/psi

    pain >> psi/sonic/fire/psi

    traps >> no, wont condone

trick arrow >> no, wont condone

    poison >> rad

    time >> fire/sonic/elec

    cold dom >> sonic/ice/fire

    rad em >> sonic/fire

    thermal >> fire

    storm >> energy/storm/elec

thats just what springs to my mind, you cant go wring with:

    - sonic

    - fire

    - elec (if you can double end drain)

    - seismic (mitigation and good dmg)

    - dark (if dark, they rly rly cant hit)

  15. rad can get pretty silly with procs, and is surprisingly sturdy on stalker (so should be similar w scrapper).

almost instant pbaoe damage proc bombs, team heals, meltdowns decent.

bio is there, like fire blast.

if you want a def set, ice probably will mitigate lots.

but, ya, for spines, if not bio, then rad. youll have a lot of (pb++)aoe between your primary and rad.
