  1. PA is definitely nice for single target, but without the taunt and no AoE immobilize the set has a problem with scattering. Despite gleam being a great control, without a way to stop enemies from wandering around while they're stunned I think it's probably the weakest control set for AoE. Which is a fine tradeoff IMO.
  2. What exactly is obscenely strong about this set? Also, it plays nothing like Mind Control.
  3. I preferred the previous burn. The bigger area and faster cast are well worth the extra CD to me.
  4. I definitely prefer the clicky, and I think I would also like it more than just a passive addon to all attacks. I like managing what targets I want to focus down. If you don't want to manage the power, the absolute worst you can do is just put it on auto and let it run.
  5. Also, the big burn AoE feels amazing ❤️
  6. The radiating FX from phoenix rising is persisting indefinitely both when used alive and dead.
  7. Added a scale 10 Fear cone that hits the near-half range of the power (30 ft base range). It's a lot easier to guess 45 degrees than it is to guess half the range. Before this skill could be used to at least partially break the alpha before you run in, and now you need to be almost in arctic air range before you can get the control out of it. I would not consider using this power anymore.
  8. If the AT is supposed to be balanced around hover, then just make that their inherit. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I've never cared about my target cap being lower ever. Everything in the AT points to being good at damaging one/few targets. The lower target cap, the inherit, the buff to the ST utility blast. I would really rather sentinels lean more into that instead of moving towards another farming AT.
  9. It looks like the confuse is still using the full recharge. I had 100% recharge reduction and was consistently casting 2 confuses for reverberant's 1.

    Speedster?

If anyone else is thinking of a speedster, I highly recommend dual pistols. It's an unconventional weapon for a speedster, but you can't beat the complex animations with those after images.
  11. That's also the case for Seismic Smash. I think it might intended for holds in the secondary?
  12. Ok this build has actually soft capped S/L, and a bit more recharge too. mids_build - 2022-07-25T183851.551.mxd
  13. Ok here's a build. It should be perma-dom with hasten, has soft capped S/L defense, and pretty high R/E/N defense. I tried to keep the budget pretty low so there are no purples but if you want to go further, the decimation and malaise's confusion are pretty direct upgrades to purple for a bit more defense and recharge. I also got rid of Chilling Embrace just because it's pretty endurance heavy and not worth it imo if you're trying to stay out of the battle. I also kept Acrobatics (which you don't need as a perma-dom) and overshot how much accuracy you need at level 50 just so the lower level experience can be more enjoyable. But if you're not worried about that, you can change it and the kismet out. If you want to mess with the build further, things I suggest/what I was looking for is keeping your global recharge (without Hasten) above 80%. That with a 2 slotted Hasten is enough to be comfortably perma-dom. You can also again take a slot out of Acrobatics and Combat Jump if you don't plan to spend much time going back to low-levels, and Super Jump if you don't care about moving fast. Edit: I had powerboost active, I need to change some things for the defenses 🥴 mids_build - 2022-07-25T183851.551.mxd
  14. You said want to play it ranged, but you took both arctic air and chilling embrace. For the playstyle you want how do you see yourself using them? Are they actually important for the build you want?
  15. I know, but as it stands now on the live servers you can get a good amount by doing pretty much any content because it just depends on leveling up. This implementation doesn’t preserve that flexibility at all is my problem.
  16. Hard disagree with that, but I do respect that there could be this economic time bomb ready to go off. What I don’t like about this change the way it is is that I’m forced to ‘farm’ this content to make up the lost converted merits, and I really don’t want to farm any content in particular. Something I would be fine with is if conversion were gated behind completing an iTrial as one of the rewards. Maybe directly as a reward or maybe it can grant tokens you need for a conversion, is something like that possible?
  17. I actually remember having a pretty good time in PVP zones on live with just SO/basic IO builds. I don’t expect anyone to come in and start stomping the zone, but I imagine fun can still be had for pretty cheap.
  18. Emp->reward is a large part of what helps me not need to farm to fund new alts. I can get a good number of emps by just playing whatever character I enjoy, much more than I need for their incarnates. This change makes it a useless resource for most of my 50s, and I think it’ll increase the amount of time I’ll be farming rather than playing.
  19. Just to add on a couple. 1. People always wanted more dominator sets. Now there’s a new control and assault. 2. Symphony is imo conceptually similar to mind control. People have been asking for a pet for mind control since the beginning of time, and MC will never have a pet or my name’s bob the builder (and it’s not). Now there’s symphonic control, which is a type of mind control. And it has an interesting pet. I also have my suggestions I wish were implemented too (illusion domination). But to say these changes don’t address what players have asked for is unfair to say the least.
  20. I don't really like the terrorize in shivers being a different arc. Firstly I'm not sure it's possible to show in game that there are 2 different areas of effect, so it's a little bit esoteric what the mechanics of the skill actually are. Second, it's already a relatively short range so why not make the every-spawn control more reliable to hit?
  21. Impassioned Serenade's reverberant version is using a recharge of the base 8 seconds instead of half that like all the other controls.
  22. I see, I said that because it looked like the proc chance was based on the recharge of the player power. But I haven't test that too too thoroughly.
  23. Wolves and EB/AVs are exactly who I was thinking of 🙂. And it is the case that all control sets (besides illusion) are very weak against EBs & AVs, but maybe it doesn't need to be.
  24. But what blast offers comparable support on live? I don't think there's a blast who's support competes with this beta sonic either. You have to agree that a secondary that offers unparalleled support on a support class is a little over-centralizing at least. And to be clear I do think secondary effects like -def, -tohit, and even -rech can be very valuable effects situationally. But -res is unsituationally strong.
