That explains why my floppy disks from 1997 no longer work. 😒

You have to choose between Stealth or Invisibility to run with Sprint. I usually run with Stealth + Sprint on my characters with the Concealment pool.

You have to repeat the same one to get credit. Running multiple TFs once doesn't count. Basically, you're getting the badge for doing the same TF twice in the same week.

When Will There Be Any Actual Content Coming To This Server?
Rathulfr replied to Sylar's topic in General Discussion
I think it all depends on your definition of "content". A lot of the new stuff I've seen added to the other servers, appears to be (a) cosmetic changes and (b) re-shuffling/re-skinning of existing power sets. I've yet to see anyone add any new story lines, except for HC, which added a couple in their last big patch. Not that there's anything wrong with cosmetic changes and powers-shuffling, but I (personally) don't see that as "new content". For example, I was excited about the new Telekinetic Assault set offered by Thunderspy/COXG, but when I tried it, it was disappointing. I really just wanted a set with whip attacks, but what I got was a control set with a few whip attacks, but mostly just other powers re-skinned. And what's with the flaming swords? How/why do flaming swords have anything to do with whip attacks? I also tried the new Guardian AT on Rebirth, but had to solo it because nobody was available to team with on their test server the few times I logged on to try it. It was grueling boring to solo, and quite underwhelming. At least the whip attacks weren't linked to flaming swords, so it had that going for it. To me, "content" is primarily story driven. What is there to do with my established characters, or worth creating a new character for? What new stories, settings, or enemy groups? What am I going to accomplish/achieve by doing so? Running DFB for the umpteenth time with whip-swords is just as boring as running DFB with gusts of wind or balls of divine light, to me. And changing my costume to include Freakshow hands or two auras isn't going to change that, either. Sure, I appreciate having whip-swords and Freakshow hands for the novelty. But to me, there's more to "content" than just cosmetics and shuffled powers. -

If you review the patch notes and official posts from the HC folks, you'll see that while they haven't exactly published a "road map" per se, there are changes and conversations about things that are happening, such as the recent changes to snipe powers or the upcoming changes to Tankers. They even posted a "what do you want to see us work on" post that was replied to by hundreds of players. So yes, there are people working on this server. (edit) Here's a related post that might answer some of your questions. -
When Will There Be Any Actual Content Coming To This Server?
Rathulfr replied to Sylar's topic in General Discussion
Why not? They're new to me, since I hadn't played since November 2012, so they definitely "count", as far as I'm concerned. I was not one of the fortunate few who got to play on the super-secret SCoRE server after retail got shut down. So it was all fresh and new to me, and to most other CoH fans. I think that saying it doesn't "count" is unfair moving of the goalposts. -

I recently re-installed Rift for the first time in years. What can I say? I have a thing for "dead" games. 😁 -

That has not been my experience on COXG or Rebirth, which have been ghost towns every time I've logged on. I did have a positive experience on We Have Cake, where the GMs greet you as soon as you materialize in AP. I found the community both in game and on Discord to be fun and lively. When I'm not playing with my established friends on HC, I will slip over to WHC, even though I don't really know them well. -
Blaster Energize is broken stupid good. It provides +100% regen and endurance reduction for 1 minute on a clicky that recharges in 2 minutes, which means it can be perma'ed with 3 SOs, bringing it down to 45 seconds. That just makes no freaking sense. Not that I'm complaining: my Energy² Blaster enjoys it quite a bit, thanks.

The Good, The Bad, and the City of Heroes...

So basically every OG TF. 😜 -
That poll would include me, one of the biggest pro-Sentinel evangelists just a few months ago (you can check my post history, if you like). But I suddenly went silent once I got back to playing Blasters with the new/improved secondaries. I pretty much gave up on the Sentinels, at that point. I did dust off a level 41 Energy² Sentinel last night, to compare it the Energy² Blaster that I just finished. I equipped him with all (except the Superiors) the attuned IOs from my 50+3 T4 Energy/WP Sentinel that I haven't played for a few months. I had to spackle in the gaps with common IOs for the moment. He's still fun, just nowhere near as effective as the Blaster at the same level (who was equipped with only common IOs at level 41). Arguably, the Sentinel is definitely more durable at 41 than the Blaster. But man it takes a long time to kill things, compared to any other DPS class. [RANT: And why the hell is Energize on Sentinels only 60% as effective as it is on Blasters, when Sentinels have toggles to run in addition to their attacks?!? But I digress...]

Yes, this is my current approach to the head canon. CoH has already established parallel universes as a routine phenomena, so all of my Rathstars are variations from different parallel worlds. I was just more interested in finding out if anyone else was wrestling with the same kinds of mental gymnastics -- apparently so.

Hmmm... that's a legitimately interesting suggestion... *ponders*

I just solo'ed Numina yesterday with my level 48-49 Blaster. It was long and tedious, especially the Kill X in all the zones bits, but pretty easy. The only AV that I faced was Jurassik at the end, and I was able to take him by hovering above out of melee range.

Mandela Effect: there is no such billboard. You might be conflating Chris Jenkins and Major Flanders Chicken. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Ingame_References#Businesses_and_Billboards

TL;DR: Who is the real Rathstar? My OG incarnation re-created from Retail, or the better HC meta-build versions? Anyone else experiencing a similar conundrum? I started playing City of Heroes in 2004, when Issue 2 went live. My first and main character was an Energy² Blaster named Rathstar, which I played to 50+3 and until the servers went dark in November 2012. Yes, I had plenty of alts, too. But Rathstar was (still is) nearest and dearest to my heart: he's the "real" me, if you know what I mean (and I know that many of you feel the same way about your characters). When Homecoming came online, Rathstar was the first character I re-created: an Energy² Blaster. He was on Bree, then again on Torchbearer, then moved to Indomitable, and now he resides on Everlasting. But he only made it to level 11 when I abandoned him. I was distracted by the new Blaster secondaries, and then by Sentinels, so he languished on the character select screen for months. Rathstar was re-imagined several times during those months, mostly as various forms of Sentinel, because the Sentinel felt like what I originally wanted for the character, even back in retail. Iron Man was my favorite comic book as a kid, and he's the inspiration for Rathstar. On retail, an Energy² Blaster was the closest I could get to Iron Man. On HC, an Energy Sentinel was even closer. After playing several different builds, Rathstar the Energy/Willpower Sentinel became my main. I got him to 50+3 T4 (not via AE, thank you), then accrued accolades and veteran levels. But even so, something was still missing: he just doesn't deal enough damage (I thought that was the missing piece). So I ran the numbers, leaned into the meta, and re-imagined Rathstar again, this time as an Energy/Temporal Blaster. The build is amazing, the character does great damage, and is almost as durable as my Sentinels. I quickly got him to 50+3 T4 (again, not with AE), accumulated accolades, etc. I started running Ouroboros flashback missions, with the goal of doing all of them. He was going to be my final incarnation of Rathstar. Or so I thought. Somebody somewhere mentioned how amazing Energize was in the Blaster secondary. I remember it being essential to my Energy/Energy Sentinel trial, back when I was rolling up Sentinels left and right. It also reminded me of my level 11 OG Rathstar which hadn't been played since April/May. On a whim, I dusted him off and started playing him again, just to get high enough to train Energize. And then I kept playing him. And I kept having fun. I've been playing him for the last week or so, and he's level 48 now. I just spent over 150 million Inf on buying IO sets for him. I haven't yet bought the ATOs or Event IOs for his build, but I plan to do so. I'm going to fully-equip him, just as I did my other Blaster and Sentinel (the only characters I've done that with, so far). The OG Energy² Blaster named Rathstar feels more "real" to me, even though he's inferior to the new and improved Energy/Temporal Blaster named Rathstar. I really like playing the E/T Rathstar. But I also really like playing the E² Rathstar. On paper, the E/T is superior, because of the -Regen debuffs. I also like being able to contribute an occasional immob, hold, or disorient when I'm on a team. The E² doesn't offer anything besides damage and knockback (and we all know how well that's received). So who is the real Rathstar? The one that feels more like retail, or the one that feels more like HC? Is anyone else experiencing a similar conundrum, or is it just me?

My teams do this, when we're in the mood for booze and laughs.

New Players - Enhancements (DOs & SOs - use em)
Rathulfr replied to Troo's topic in General Discussion
Why not? I do. Not every build needs Hasten. Many do, admittedly. But not all. -
The client side rendering of Propel objects makes for a fun drinking game with your team mates. Whenever Propel is cast, everyone shouts out what they see: Lamp! Gargoyle! Dumpster! Auto body! Gargoyle! File cabinet! Those who shout out the same thing have to take a shot. In the example above, players 2 and 5 would have to drink, because they both saw the Gargoyle.
-
This would indeed be a noble quest! Good luck to whomever attempts it.
-
Squishies take it wherever they can get it. 😉
-
On my squishies, every little bit helps, so I slot it for Defense, just like I do with CJ, Hover, or Maneuvers.
-
It's the equivalent of Combat Jumping or Hover. I always slot Stealth with 3 End Reds or 3 LotG (Defense/Global Recharge, Defense, and Defense/Endurance), the same as I do with CJ or Hover.
