The magnitude of status attacks should be somewhat randomized
Bionic_Flea replied to temnix's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There is already a degree of variability for player activated controls. Controllers have [Overpower] which adds a chance for additional magnitude for most controls (https://cod.uberguy.net/html/tags.html?tag=overpower&q=bears). Dominators have [Domination] to boost mag and duration to help with stacking. And, of course, there is always a chance to miss and most controls have to hit first. You could also invest in Hybrid Control incarnate powers to add magnitude to controls while active. To be fair, this is only players against critters. I do think that higher level critters (50+) should have some of the controls and debuffs that players get, inherents included! Some of the newer content has done that to a certain extent. -

1 - Hell no on modifiers, unsure on flat percent chance but I don't think that will be beneficial. We'll just go back to slotting 4 or 5 in the quickest activating powers. 2 - HELL NO. I use /ah. A lot. 3 - No thank you. I'm not sure how many I'm currently using, but I remember 20 being too few. 4 - Hell no. While I understand that crashless nukes seem like power creep, that ship has left port and circumnavigated the globe several times now. 5- Hell no. But I do think it should be limited to 50 and over. We should not be able to use incarnate powers at level 45. 6 - Hell no, see above. 7 - Not sure it's needed, but not strictly opposed. 8 - I'm not sure if that would make MMs too strong or not. I'd have to see, but generally not opposed.

Way back when, I was one of the beta testers for the BAF trial. No one had ever done it or seen anything like it in the game and it seemed impossible. We also didn't have any incarnate powers or the kind of tricked out builds you can make now. The first part where we have to clear X number of robots was relatively easy. The we ran after Nightstar and the Towers were annihilating us. I was on a tank and discovered that the building right in front of the tennis courts was just outside the range and sight of all the towers, so I pulled her up there. She followed easily with super jump, but none of her robot pals had that so we could just deal with her alone. They gave all the robots super jump on the next patch. Anyway, all that to say that during these tests one of the devs (I forget who) mentioned that the role they envisioned for controllers and dominators was to hold the waves of robots while everyone else spanked the AV. So while they limited control for the escape phase (too easy with controls and critters that don't fight back), they felt that they gave them another important role in another phase

There are two ways to go. You can embrace the ugly and make a monster, like I did with my Spines/Bio Brute Or go with minimal FX, like my Iron Fist homage Energy melee/Bio Stalker.

What if I tell Serge that I vouch for that guy? Isn't that sharing my influence? "Yo! Vinny! Hook my buddy up and put it on my tab, capische?"

Badges for Signature Story Arcs!
Bionic_Flea replied to Heavensrun's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'm on board! May I suggest "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered" -- You've completed all of the Signature Story Arcs and now know who died and what was in Pandora's Box. [For completing all the SSAs (either red or blue, not both and not mix and match)] -
Yeah, if you click on your name and avatar on top right and choose "My attachments" you can link to old images you've previously posted. On the top of that attachments page you can see how much of your space allotment you've used up. I'm at 85% and should probably remove some, but that's not why I was prevented from posting. There's a new problem affecting everyone as biostem linked to.

Check the Victorian Steampunk and Classic Steampunk costume sets. You can mix and match those to make something close to what I think you want. I was trying to attach screenshots from the character builder UI but the forums have been acting up lately and not letting me attach any graphics. Edit: and now it's fixed!

I'm not seeing it. I see a sparkly wheel in the top center with ice shield type stuff in the center of the wheel and the new "honeycomb" style force field graphics around. 3 players and some undead pets are scattered around the Wheel. But I'm not seeing legs on that wheel. Can someone help a poor, old bug see these legs?

What's this? Did I miss some drama? What happened? You can respond privately if you prefer.

Vampire powersets, what powers would you choose ??
Bionic_Flea replied to smnolimits41's topic in Archetypes
I went with Kinetics/Dark Blast Defender. Could just as easily been a corrupter. I figured that kinetics has the most powers that drain the target while buffing the Vampire. Was lots of fun to play solo and in teams. Everyone loves to have a kin on their team! -
Is It Time to Resurrect Statesman?
Bionic_Flea replied to The Witchfire's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would think that the Power of Zeus would have to go somewhere. Hey . . . why is that frog by that well glowing . . . And thus, StatesFrog was born. -
But Jimmy, why do you have to destroy card pyramids and our servers?

/jranger. Moreover, /Rudra! -
YES! Lots of people have been requesting some kind of shuriken blast for years. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/search/?q="shuriken blast"&quick=1&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy For the T9 I would combine the animations for whirlwind and quills but make the quills customizable and longer distance. Kind of like X-men villain Riptide.

Since I understand that you are an actual lawyer, not just play one on TV, would you say that HC's moderation policies are illegal? How about unethical? -

You saying it emphatically doesn't make it so. Fairness to who? Accountability for whom? Again, it seems to me you just want a way to throw shade at HC, or perhaps at certain players. And THAT is precisely why moderation actions are not made public. This game isn't real life. HC isn't the police. No one gets physically hurt and no one goes to prison. This debate that you and I are having is EXACTLY what would happen if the GMs' actions were public. You or someone else would go on debating the ethics or lack thereof of their decisions. -

Bionic_Flea replied to Laucianna's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The rule is: They don't discuss moderation actions. If you are unhappy with that, it's OK for you to be unhappy. Whether HC reveals their moderation actions or not has nothing to do with ethics. It is neither malum in sa (inherently evil) or malum prohibitum (evil only because it is prohibited). It is merely a preference. It seems to me that some may just want ammunition to criticize HC. Except you don't need ammunition. People criticize HC here all the time. -

Just playing devil's advocate here, so don't kill me. Let's assume HC did tell you the result. Published the result on a log even. How would that go? 1. They investigated your complaint and disagreed for whatever reason. It didn't look enough like Superman to generic, they looked at chat logs and found that the complainer was the aggressor, or they looked at chat logs and felt that the incident could have been role play as no clear out-of-character statement to leave the complainer alone was made. The complainer will not be satisfied and perhaps start a series of appeals. The accused now knows the complainer (or someone) made a complaint against him. 2. They agree with the complaint but only issue a warning or a 24 hour ban, not the permanent ban complainer was hoping for. The complainer will not be satisfied and perhaps start a series of appeals. The accused now knows the complainer (or someone) made a complaint against him. The accused is also not satisfied and appeals. 3. They agree with the complaint and issue a permanent ban. Complainer is satisfied but accused is not. Accused starts a series of appeals and tells his friends that complainer got him booted . . . and then creates a new account. I don't see any of those outcomes as helpful or beneficial. It creates the potential for a new series of appeals that have to be addressed on top of addressing current problems. It creates additional animosity between players and between players and HC. Everyone knows the outcome but what benefit is gained? -
You can give yourself wings temporarily to see them in action. That's how I got my screenshot above.
