  1. Make it Bulk Rogaine and now we're clearly in parody-land!
  2. I've got 17 level 50 controllers, but only 8 level 50 doms. That's not counting stuff I made on test servers. I guess I need to try Doms more, but I really do like buff/debuff sets.
  3. I just saw your video of Arse/traps +4/x8 against Carnies. It seemed to me like you were kicking butt at a good clip. Yes, I'm sure that you could have done faster on something else. But I think unless you homogenize everything you are going to have some sets that are better than others, at least for any given metric. So you are going to end up with a most damaging and least damaging set. And then, in my mind, the goal should be to keep the difference between the best and worse to a minimum. For example, Ston and GalaxyBrain have run tests to compare all sets within an AT by running the same content with different primaries but the same secondary (or vice versa) and that gets you a fairly objective ranking list. Do you know if something like that exists for controllers? I'd be interested in seeing where Arse control fit into that hierarchy.
  4. Shin, I saw you on beta test trying out an Arse/Storm. I think it was level 8 when I saw you. How high did you take it and what did you think of the combo? I've been playing with an Arse/Dark and I find that the sets are pretty complimentary. I'll play a mission or two at a given level and then bump myself a few levels, choose the new powers and slots, and then try out another mission. Previously I tried Arse/Traps, Arse/TA, and ArseX3 Dom. I found the TA and Dark were much better than the other two. I've been running the Arse/Dark at +0/x8 since late 20s and have bumped it up to +4/x8 now that I am 50+. I've soloed some RWZ missions and some of Maria's arc. As with many of my controllers, the killing isn't as fast as it would be on a blaster, scrapper, brute, or tank. And there's certainly other powerset combos in Controllers and other ATs that are faster. But I find it's fast enough, especially for minions and Lts, with bosses and EBs taking longer but doable. I might be able to solo AVs with this build, but it would be a slog and I'd rather not even try. So while I agree you can always make any set stronger and Arsenal control is nowhere near the strongest, where is the line where you can honestly say it's good enough? I understand that your line maybe different from my line and different from everybody else's line. But it seems to me we should be able to have some benchmark. Not everything will kill as fast as a fire blaster or fire farm as well as a fire/rad brute, but I don't think that everything has to.
  5. It occurs to me that the NPETM should probably teach the game like you would teach chess to someone that's completely new to the game. This is the board, these are the pieces, this is how they move, this is how they attack. And then let them play with that a bit before you teach them castling, en passant, and gambits.
  6. That's what she said! And by "she" I mean Martha Stewart.
  7. NEWSFLASH!! Captain Powerhouse has changed his signature photo again. Instead of Arsenal gooners we have this: And this is a picture of a bunch of Seattle Mariners, a baseball team. Bat melee and baseball blast confirmed?
  8. Ohhhh . . . so the signature photo of Arsenal was a hint for . . . drum roll . . . Arsenal! Sure that seems obvious to some of you, but I had no idea about Arsenal FC and their uniform, colors, etc. We still have the mystery of Minerva. What is she trying to tell us?
  9. Captain Powerhouse recently started showing this as his forum avatar: The image is named Minerva. And while we are on the subject of CPH visual mysteries, what the heck is this supposed to mean?
  10. But Jimmy, if I am fighting in the street and happen to come across my first new explore badge, wouldn't I get a center screen pop up window?
  11. Confirmed that it does NOT award for getting the Atlas Tour Guide Accolade, but DOES award after getting two more explore badges. I got mine in KR. I have to agree with the folks that say it should be 8 explore badges. That way us "old folks" can get it the way we are used to and the new folks can find the badges organically or by design once they learn. That would be my preference, but getting 2 more badges in KR, when I was going there at level 6ish anyway, did not add significant time. Oh! and I got a popup directing me to head on over to the University in Steel for some inventions training! Nice.
  12. Hey look! A ball! *rolls ball at Ridiculous Girl*
  13. But Jimmy, I don't care what anyone else says, you're OK in my book. These few little things alone will save so much time for each new character created.
  14. Yeah, that's fair. It doesn't have the satisfaction of something like Assassin Strike or Blaster nukes taking stuff out in one shot. But you drop Storm Cell, then Cat5, and then your other storm attacks and large groups are dying from a thousand cuts, getting knocked down, trying to run out, and otherwise not firing back.
  15. Doesn't really matter if they want to be named that, because you can't use asterisks or ampersands in character names. Right. Sorry. How about F6(GHvH or Bqk8!zzzz Man? I don't have a problem with HC's proposed resolution and, to be frank, it wouldn't bother me if they never instituted it. But if I had to be away for a time and came back to find someone else had taken Bionic Flea (who's been level 50 since Issue 2 or 3 live and a few weeks after HC opened), I would pop a gasket, cry, flip over my computer table, and any other over the top thing you can imagine. Even if I was in a coma for five years. Hell, ESPECIALLY if I had been in a coma for five years.
  16. Storm Blast changes: I've been playing a Storm/Regen on Beta. While it's been a while since I played Storm Blast, it does seem to feel stronger. My live build was a Storm/Storm corrupter that I need to transfer over for some head to head comparison. But from memory, I think this Storm sentinel was putting out as much or more damage as the corrupter, and I would never have thought that was possible. Again, this is just perception and not hard numbers. I'll get back to you with a head to head comparison.
