I made a test TW/bio for a laugh, and I'm pretty sure I never killed an AV that fast before, and I play crab spiders and masterminds. Critical on TW are what make it more silly than anything else, to me. At least claws has to keep rapidly tearing away in single target. I was chunking about 1/8th of it's health bar per rotation on the TW, meanwhile. I'm very anti-nerf for this game in particular, and even I have to agree that TW, especially on scrappers, was out of line.

Peacebringers: Bring Back Solar Flare's Stomp Animation!
ScarySai replied to ScarySai's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Should still be available. I'm pretty sure the VFX is the same and they only changed the model's animation. -
People seem to have forgotten just how bad blasters were before I24. Mental was basically the only playable secondary for awhile.
-
I wouldn't hold your breath. Personally would rather see AR, elec, rad, psi and DP get a few buffs. I doubt they will touch fire.
-
Blasters finally get their time in the spotlight after eons of eating floor, yet people are already calling for their head. /eyeroll. The people who care about HC will continue to voice their concerns with design in HC. If you want an apathetic playerbase, CO is just for you.
-
Empathy's so strong, it actually makes me - the player - feel sorry for the guy who picked it.
-
It'll be teammate-only, they signed the contract, they get shot!
-
...I didn't see a 'no' in there.
-
You'd at least fall on your face throwing that much power and whiffing it, carrying all that momentum.

Who do I have to lobby to get a special animation for missing ET? Where your character punches themself in the face.

I still think Trick arrow needs a new ability. Here's my proposal: Arrow of Vengeance! What does it do? I'm glad you asked! Arrow of Vengeance: Shoots your targeted ally in the head and kills them instantly, but it casts vengeance on your entire party when you do this.

I agree, though I think a set like Gravity should definitely hit harder and not really need procs to do it's thing, considering how it was clearly designed to be more aggressive than most sets. Singy often does more damage than you, he's awesome, but come on.
-
In essence, it was published against NCsoft's will, but there's basically nothing they can do to stop private servers from popping up, now. The cat is out of the bag. So in theory, they could hit servers, but more would just pop up and it would cost them more money than they probably care to spend to squash a few. Their best option is to legitimize HC, at least they will profit.

Sentinel needs a grand overhaul of some sort, Kheldians need some small tuning adjustments on certain powers and some QoL (front loaded mire, faster cast times on say, incan strike and others, beefier pets, more damage in essence drain) and controllers I think just need to hit harder and/or have a more reliable inherent while being careful that it doesn't overshadow domination. Masterminds are kinda -fine- in how the mechanics work, at least now they are - but the problem lies in how the original sets function. They're all in need of rework, especially mercs. It'd be cool if the attacks became useful, as well. I'd love to see necromancy get more minions from raising defeated opponents, It'd make it my favorite set.

I find the double standard from the OP to be mildly amusing, given past discussions about game balance.

While I agree with you in this instance, because there's nothing I would fear more than the general playerbase having a say in how Kheldians are balanced in a hypothetical future update, it's important to consider the playerbase at least in some degree when it comes to future design direction. See: the downfall of WoW since MoP ended.

Perhaps not, though I think it could be a good way to keep the community involved, especially for something like HC, which really is a community thing at the end of the day. Like it or not, it's the community that makes this server successful, despite some...notable outliers. I think if at least one thing in a patch in terms of priority came down to a vote, it could be interesting. Not exactly how things get changed, oh no no no - don't do that, but if it comes down to what gets changed, that could be fun. Of course, that means my kheldians will never get their overdue QoL, but it could be fun for you blasters and brutes out there.

Blizzard's moderation is such a joke that I find it unfair to even call it anything close to moderation.
-
You have to be nuanced, some easy changes are the best, but taking the easy approach solely because it's the easy approach would be a bad way to go about things.
-
You have to dive into the code either way, you can be lazy and just adjust values downward on the offending ability, or take the time to make a nuanced change that compensates for the loss. An easy change doesn't equal a good change. And I am very happy with the Homecoming team overall and they have my gratitude for bringing the game back. This does not however, mean that everything they do to alter the game we loved is worthy of praise. When people raise their concerns, upset or otherwise critical, they are absolutely within their right to go "Hey, this is bad, you shouldn't do this." They can of course, ignore them and push forward, sure - but I dislike your framing of the issue - as if to say anyone critical of the power balancing decisions of HC is somehow just out there to piss on the people who brought the most successful private server to life. If you think this is bad, you should see the WoW forums. Despite a few factors that of course, lead to increased aggression, like I mention above - this community is by and large much more helpful than most other MMO ones you'll encounter without getting into pocketed segments. For all intents and purposes, it comes from passion for the game, I don't like the term 'toxic', it's too much of a blanket term.

It's not just fireball, rain of fire makes ice storm look like an absolute joke. If ice storm hit as hard as rain of fire did, it'd be a lot closer of a race. The lack of decent filler AoE is what really hurts Ice, when Blizzard is up, there's no question about how strong it is.

It's worth noting that while Galaxy's tests are a decent benchmark for the standardized performance of all sets, that's what it's primarily for - the standardized performance of the sets. He doesn't build each set to it's maximum potential, using notable procs, purples or any of that fun stuff, so it's safe to assume that something like ice or beam aren't going to be using their unique slotting advantages to the fullest. Despite all this, ice still made it to S tier, and Beam made it to the top of A tier. So even while handicapped like crazy, ice performed very well. It performs even better with proc slotting and purples. Is it on fire's level? I wouldn't say so, but with procs and purples, it can be a beast, especially on corruptors. TL:DR - You're wrong. Pretty much this, exactly.

This is a few patches old by now, but I'd like to see if we could atleast get an alt animation or something added. Awhile ago, Solar Flare used to use the foot stomp animation, but this was changed to a much less visually satisfying hand clap animation. I believe PH's original reasoning was to paraphrase (And correct me if I'm wrong): that the animation was coded to not work in the air so they changed it for QoL's sake. Which I believed until I tried out Ice melee for the first time on a stalker. Frozen Aura uses the foot stomp animation and it can work while midair or flying. Surely, there's a way we can bring back the stomp as an alternate animation with minimal work? The clap looks so goofy to me, I miss the stomp.

So long as we don't go down the slope of nerfing anything perceived to be slightly stronger than average, this sounds good on paper.
