Bumping as a reminder - 5pm Central TODAY. Help spread the word! Look for LFG announcements when recruiting starts. I'll first be looking for 50+1's to be team leaders, probably about 10-15 mins ahead of the kickoff time.
-
In addition to the MSR kill shot mentioned earlier, on Everlasting I use to announce a "lucky caller #7 with the phrase that pays" radio sort of thing for MSR recruiting. I've tried it a couple of times on Ex, but it hasn't happened yet because either there wasn't enough interest in an MSR at that particular time, or it was obvious people were just dropping in to try to get the cash and then drop out of the league. But it's a fun thing to do when everyone is being cool about it. Occasionally, I like to take my 50s down to Atlas and join or run some DFBs, and I give a reward for the kill shot on Tinder. Shout out to Yatman who was playing 20 questions for a cash prize on two of my MSRs yesterday!

Beyond the graphics card requirements of the game itself, I can't speak to that. Generally speaking, though, you may want to lower your graphics settings for this particular raid. I try to encourage everyone to keep their pets dismissed during the pylons phase as the pylons literally disappear with too many objects floating around. Expect... choppiness. Second, masterminds only, please. 🙂

2 answers: 1. Point du Hoc in RWZ. 2. No, though you need to be at least 35 with the Member of Vanguard badge to earn vMerits.
-
Set your graphics card to "Zork" and join us for the most fun you've ever had looking at a powerpoint! Realize in advance these kind of runs do not usually result in a large amount of vMerits. We do it because it's fun. See you there!

Cool beans!

Thanks to everyone who came out today to join the FULL LEAGUE we ended up with! Respecting Homecoming's instructions, I will not be posting a video for this particular raid. There will be another, but right now I don't know when exactly that will be. When I do schedule it, I will post it here with plenty of time for people to comment on the day/time. 🙂 Have fun out there!

One final bump - event is about 3 hours away.

Bumping to remind. I haven't heard of any conflicts with doing it at 2pm Central, so that is still the plan. Speak up if you know of a conflict. Also, still looking for team leaders.

Has there been a recent update that perhaps broke demorecord playback? Today, I thought I might try making an animated Zoom background from in front of Atlas. I recorded several files, but all of them crash when I go to play them back. I tried several other of the demorecord files I have and noticed everything created on or before 3/30/20 works fine.

I've received a few requests to run another MM only MSR, with one request specifically asking about Saturday, May 9. I'm tentatively scheduling this for 2pm Central, but I also want to be mindful of other regularly scheduled events going on at that same time. If you know of any such event we might step on, please reply and I will update the time accordingly. If you have a MM that is 50+1 or greater, and you are interested in leading a team, send me a private message me here with your character name and details.

For those who may not know how to use demorecord in this manner: In addition to copying the relevant chat logs, it could be helpful to do a demorecord for the GMs if you are petitioning a player.
-
Definitely a YMMV situation, given it's the AH, but in my admittedly limited experience doing this (maybe a couple weeks?) I haven't had one sell for less than 2 mill yet. Still, some may prefer 250k to 30 threads they don't want or need.
-
Maybe this is common knowledge, but I couldn't find a thread on it already. Apologies if my search-fu was not strong enough. Have a ton of threads, but really need (or would prefer) influence? Visit Luna in Ouroboros and use threads to buy Ultimate inspirations. You can sell these on the auction house for 2-3 million each. Well, until everyone reads this message and the market drops out from under us.

Discussion: Disabling XP No Longer Increases Influence
Oklahoman replied to Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
Forgive me for not digging through all the comments before making my own. I have no problem with the inf part of this, but I would like to see something that happens once you reach vet level 100. I'm guessing an inf buff is out of the question, so I would like to see the P2W vendor have a selection of pbAoE powers with a long recharge - matching the super team inspirations, perhaps. Every 100 vet levels maybe the radius increases. Yes, we could comically have a toon with a vet level high enough to rez an entire zone - so what? I stopped gaining XP on one of my toons (Boy Band) once he hit vet level 100 because there really wasn't a benefit beyond that. -
Why? How many times per minute do we need to know "DFB 5/8", "DFB 6/8", "DFB 7/8"? Though, I do concede it will impact those leaders who post "DFB full". They potentially may need to wait a complete cycle to announce that. I'll concede it's not that big of an issue most of the time, but when it is an issue - it's an issue. I try to wait 2 full minutes between each LFG post so as not to spam it, and I usually fill leagues pretty quickly. But it is frustrating when your LFG post quickly cycles off the screen because of unneeded recruiting updates or discussions taking place in the wrong channel. Then people discourage it by, guess what, posting in LFG, which just exacerbates the problem. And you can send the offender(s) a tell, sure, maybe that works. Or maybe they break out the whole "this is America and I can do what I want" thing. Code exists already that prevents a user from posting to any channel again for a few seconds if they use a keybind that posts more than, what, 5 lines at the same time? Found that out in the middle of an MSR when I used my fancy new keybind for grate assignments then couldn't speak again for a minute or whatever. That was fun. All I'm saying is that same code could be used to reduce unhelpful posts to LFG. And I'm grouchy from working from home too much. That too.
-
I hope so too, but I'm pessimistic.
-
Or, 30 seconds. Whatever. Bottom line is that there could be a timer on sending a message to "Looking for Group" which would make it more difficult (hopefully) to have back and forth conversations there.

My OCD is firing off big time. How did we manage to get hold of the source code and not immediately make added trays exactly the same size as the others? Why wasn't this bug fix #1? I can't... I can't even...

I, for one, don't give the other servers much thought. I started on HC, I'm happy on HC, and I think I'll just run with that. I'm happy to let the other servers do what they want. The cost of admission for HC is the code of conduct, which currently doesn't allow streaming, etc. I love making videos - sucks I can't make any right now. If that ever makes me unhappy with HC, I'll go elsewhere because I would no longer be willing to pay the cost of admission. I don't see it as HC telling me what I can and cannot do. I can still make those videos and keep them on my personal hard drive, and perhaps do a mass upload later. But I don't see where HC is asking too much of me to hold off on videos and streaming for awhile, considering what they can provide for me.

I bet it could. I believe anything that a player does that would cause some sort of animation from them would need to be captured by DEMORECORD so it can accurately play it back later. In your case, or in the case @Apparitionlisted, you would likely search the demorecord file for "phase". I used this very recently to catch someone who used a grenade in the final fight with Marauder during a LAM. Because I knew where to look, I was able to jump over and get the info from the files while we were still fighting Marauder, and then ask the player (via tell, because I try to give the benefit of the doubt) what happened. They said it was a mis-click (which can happen), but didn't respond after that and went offline as soon as the trial finished. I gignored them just to be safe. I'd love to find a log monitoring tool that could look for keywords to appear in the demorecord text file ("grenade" or "acid" for instance) and then sound some kind of alert. I am told Notepad++ is used for monitoring log files a lot, but I have yet to figure out how to make it do what I described. Maybe someone else has an idea.
