  1. My concern is that acid mortar may be treated as a pet and only proc in the AoE on casting the pet
  2. Aghast I am that you guys dislike Howling Twilight that you throw only a single enhancement in it. This is an UBER strong power. A delight to throw to OPEN an attack on groups esp when Fearsome Stare may be on cool down. As an aside, remember nemesis won't be feared but you can stun the automatons.
  3. I went Pyro/Storm. I had two defenders as my main on live Storm/Rad blast and Forcefield Psy blast (my global handle). I am playing through leveling up now, no AE or MSR for this character. I plan to try to maximize recharge for maximum storms, tornadoes, etc It's been a blast. I mostly group. and play on task forces and giant monster hunts when I can.
  4. What are you looking to get out of your corruptor? As Monte Carla stated, it's best to use this powerset combo in teams. If you are looking mostly for teaming, why corruptor instead of defender?
  5. I agree stormies have to be very mobile. You can practice this by defending the reactor core in Terror Volta respecification trials 🙂
  6. My opinion differs a bit from sir Uun in that I DO like both gale and O2. I do agree with Uun that six slotting O2 is overkill. What I have developed in my storm builds is taking gale, slotting for accuracy, slot for KB > KD and also throw in a force feedback proc in gale to boost your recharge. I throw one of the force feedback procs in tornado, lightning storm, and electron haze is a good place as well. The force feedback won't fire on each lightning strike but with enough recharge you will be cranking out tornado and lightning storm quite frequently. My storm energy may not be maximized in its single target damage abilities but with max recharge comes more storms and more tornadoes. With much lightning storms and tornadoes comes great stormy responsibility. O2 is great for a spot heal on teammates that need a quick blast of healing and it works wonders on teammates that have used a wakie. I also toss it on folks that are experiencing rapid endurance drains frequently. I am looking at you Mr. Super Stunner.
  7. Oh I acknowledge the existence of a team grouping: warrior healer dps. I just question the holiness of such an arrangement.
  8. I understand your point better now. In the case of rad emission why I like choking cloud so much is that it gives you timie to set up Lingering radiation, enervating field, and radiation infection without getting waxed by melee attacks. EM Pulse is my second activation after teleporting to the middle of the spawn, when its available. the safest place in combat is next to the EF/RI toggle anchors. I should note, I do know how to let the tank take aggro. I play a lot on all-defender or defender/corruptor heavy teams.
  9. I guess I should define what I mean by powerset defining powers. In my opinion, it is the power that sitting with other great powers are unique in application and or features. Obviously I am going to value certain features more than other players. Ice shields are like forcefield shields are like sonic shields are like... etc. I agree 100% with Adrenaline Boost. The tier 9 in Pain which is similar to Empathy is the p;owerset defining buff for Pain as well. Mea culpa, but Fortitude for sure for lowbie empaths I agree dispersion is much more than defense, it's MEZZ PROTECTION aoe style for the group inside the dispersion. Choking cloud: you are including usage of the Lockdown +Hold Mag proc? The Choking cloud gets most of the lieutenants, too. Faraday cage is more than resist damage, It has mezz protection, KD protection, end drain protection. I will die on this hill for Faraday Cage Sonic's disruption field does need an ally; in this it is unique in its application. The sonic does not want his anchor to ever expire. Indeed I did mean Melt Armor, Targeted AoE -def -res. This power can be up close to every other group with a high recharge build. TA EMP Arrow has one of if not highest -regen bursts in the game AOE on the spawn, delivered by a ranged attack. I also have a sick affection for glue arrow although it operates much like tar patch and caltrops. Venomous Gas is uber; that is all. Heat loss is like no other AoE buff where is boosts allies' recovery and endurance while debilitating targetted foe spawns' resistance , I hope this clear's up my position and opinion.
  10. My first dom that I played with any success was Elec control/electric blast? It was fast but it was fun sapping things like Eochai.
  11. Defender powerset defining abilities inmho are listed below. I reposted this here from another post because of my post that got the thread locked. There are powerset defining powers in defenders that I value more than others: Empathy > Fortitude Forcefield > dispersion bubble Rad emission > choking cloud Electric affinity > Faraday cage Sonic > disruption field (the cosmic tutu) Thermal > name slips my mind the big AoE debuff not melt armor <<< HEAT EXHAUSTION Traps > forcefield generator Dark > Howling Twilight/Dark Servant tied TA > EMP Arrow edit: Poison PbAoe Debuff aura. Cold > Heat Loss ... remind me the rest. I hope I dont get flagged for cross posting!

  13. Just chiming in to support this post "find the cash and get 4 END MOD/RECH pieces" remember these are invention origin enhancements available on the auction house for the prices the quoted poster shows.
  14. Not sure if you opted to take "fluffy"? but that's TWO big sources of heals! I am a big advocate of using Howling Twlight every other group, with fearsome stare in between because of the stun, slows, and regen debuff. If an ally happens to be unlucky enough to fall in battle, it rezzes them when activated as a side effect 😛
  15. Illusion / empath? Not my cup of tea, how did that heal other work out on the decoys?
  16. I try to work Choking Cloud into my Radiation characters. I always slot the lockdown hold proc into it to hit most targets. I teleport into a group, no wading in, that grabs too much aggro before the cloud kicks in. Be careful of tanks/melee types that try to combine way too many spawn points over their aggro cap. A rad emission character can peel off a whole lot of hate with choking cloud or the debuff anchors. Don't fool yourself by not seeing numbers directly generated by enervating field, this ability makes a big difference in combat. I use the force feedback proc in my Storm summoning/water blast defender and have been pleased with the results. Good luck and see you in the city.
  17. I am a big radiation emission fan that love to use Choking Cloud. First I put the Lockdown hold proc in CC. Then, I use the attack chain: Teleport (regular teleport) in to melee range with CC running, Lingering Radiation, Enervating Field, Radiation Infection, and usually the heal aura as a chaser. It's not foolproof, but teleporting into a spawn gives the teleporter a few moments of invulnerability. Choking cloud interrupts the foes' first attacks, leaving you free to pile up the LR, EF, RI trifecta on the boss/hard target. Recall Target is useful for characters with resurrection abilities. Fold Space is useful to keep the spawns inside the choking cloud aoe.
  18. Minutiae related to the Kinetics/Radiation blast defender: 1. Siphon Speeds debuff is irresistible if it passes the accuracy check. 2. No power uses centrioles quite as well as cosmic burst. 3. The damage debuff in fulcrum shift and siphon power is no joke. Reduce incoming damage before it is absorbed, defense roll, and resistances are applied, 4. The damage cap is easily attained. The recharge cap can also be achieved. However, what most kineticists know is that eventually the animation time of preceding powers impedes firing off the next attack, buff, or heal more than waiting for activations having recharged. This is another reason rad blast is good with kinetics. It has multiple quick animating quick hitters. 5. Remember Transfusion has a regeneration debuff, so it should be in short rotation for attacks on bosses, AVs, GMs, hard targets, fueled by frequent irresistible siphon speeds. Enjoy your kinetic.
  19. I was this many years old and this many year a vet before I heard of this feature in mystic flight. I should read more/ play more non-traditional power pools. Serious rethinking of some of my defenders is due on my part.
  20. I like your perspective on this. I would add that especially in boss fights, siphon speed is an uber power in that effects on target are 'non-resistible' (unless they changed that when I wasn't looking). This is a subtle feature, but i would also point out that kinetics is a doubled edged attack. The -damage in FS and SP are more than trivial, especially in the AoE of FS. Another feature of kinetics besides the damage cap, defense cap, et al is the ANIMATION cap. This is so easy to hit on Kin/electric, not so much /rad or /sonic.. Your recharge on yourself will get so high, you won't be waiting for powers to recharge as much as you wait for powers to animate before you can hit the next one 😮 .
  21. I very much enjoy this discussion. Force bomb is knock down. Forcefield sonic gives you two AoEs with knockdown capabilities with a KB>KD proc in sonic cone. A bit off topic but KD is like a mini AoE hold, they can't attack if they are on their butt or getting up. Another use for the proc-meisters. edit: realized you could implement this with electron haze too, I dont usually pick that power up, but hmmm.
  22. wellllll POO, but at least the big slow in HT is boosted.
  23. My question is what effect on -regen in twilight grasp and howling twilight does power boost have?
