Teaming as a blaster is easy and boring
Scarlet Shocker replied to Nihil's topic in General Discussion
as many have said, melee is a big part of a Blaster's armoury, so you're missing out by not using it, and it is a skill to do it well. That said, it could be that your play style just isn't suited to Blasters that well and you might find you enjoy other ATs a lot more. Given the amount we have and the powers they can wield, I'd strongly advise you to experiment, see what works and what doesn't. Personally my fave ATs are Blasters and Controllers, both of which play quite differently, so give it a go and see what you think. One thing you'll learn soon enough is there are many many different ways to play this game and that's one reason it's so good. -
putting this here because there doesn't seem to be a board for "Events and Teaming" or similar, but I'm wondering if anyone fancies starting a mission team in Praetoria and running from 1 to 50 via the Imperial or Resistance arcs. I'd probably do this on Reunion, and in UK/EU evening times so from say 7pm BST (6pm UTC) or 8pm ECT. I guess day(s) of the week would be dependent on the response but if you're into the idea, please sign up below and it'd be very helpful to include your @Global so I can find you in game. Also feel free to discuss which side you have most interest in running, Grey or Gold. (I'm partial to gold side, I thought that was an unexplored aspect of the story and formed an SG based on loyalists, the Praetorian Imperial Secret Service. "In Praetoria the Piss Takes You!") I've added a poll to reflect available paths. Feel free to flesh out your thinking once you've voted.

Can you elaborate please Healix? I've looked in the folder can't see anything.

You have speculated poorly and drawn incorrect and wrong conclusions.
-
One word of warning though, if you do create the Macro window, it seems impossible to remove if you decide for whatever reason you don't like it. It's a bit of a PITA!

I've never played Earth/TA combined but plenty of experience of Earth and TA as troller sets. I would agree with the general consensus; You'll lock stuff down and make it immobile, but it'll be slow to kill. If you're planning on playing solo, that'll probably be quite painful. If you're on a team, they will love you. If you want to solo, then I'd suggest a more damaging primary, something like Fire/TA or maybe even Plant/TA Either way, enjoy it :D

THIS I soooo shoulda done this... There's also a 'Surgeon' in the Tiki room at Pocket D. and in the Vanguard base. I believe she can change your body dimensions.

Excellent guide. Note to Mods, can this post be stickied please?

Who else did it? Who else remade their main?
Scarlet Shocker replied to StoneColdJoker's topic in General Discussion
Scarlet Shocker lives... It's interesting, rebuilding her, starting from scratch. I'm enjoying the journey greatly. I've remade a couple of others but a few are originals here. -

Many pets are on a timer, have a finite lifespan, so need to be resummoned periodically. Phantom Army is one such example. To make it "perma" means to ensure you can summon it immediately the pets vanish and thus maintain continuity. As to your original question, Earth/Rad might be a really good option - as might Earth/Poison. Earth has some of the best holds and a couple of useful debuffs too, but does little damage, but Rad and Poison are both great at debuffing mobs further, thus making your lack of damage less significant, especially if you use temp pets. Once you have Rocky of course, things get easier, and you can get a nice damaging Patron power too.
-
I agree. Gale's a very useful mitigation power in my experience.

fair enough thanks for the input PK -
doesn't seem to be working. Error message: Ticket system seems to be entirely for in game issues so posting here. Please relocate as appropriate. Thx

both powers in their own right are good but you will find that particular combination very difficult to play solo, and probably tricky as a novice. Mind control is good because many opponents are weak to psionic powers, but it is (mostly) single target enemies and doesn't do a huge amount of damage. Similarly, FF is good defensively on a team, but doesn't have too much damage for it and won't help keep you alive easily. If you're in a regular team, like a supergroup or similar, your team mates will benefit greatly but I'd suggest you go for something more solo friendly initially while you figure out what you like.

both are good options but I have a great disco character, Earth Wind and Fire who rocks! Try them and decide for yourself, it's not like you don't have enough slots!

Please limit DFB/DiB runs.
Scarlet Shocker replied to kelly Rocket's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I get the OP's point and I have a great deal of sympathy with it, but I also have a lot of sympathy with the idea that preventing people playing the game they want is just wrong so I'm kind of torn. But, I strongly suspect that very soon, there will be a real tail-off in numbers, and things will level out significantly. The novelty of having our city back again will wear off, especially for those for whom this is "just another game" and don't have the emotional investment in it that many of us do. This in turn will mean that those who stick around will want to explore the content and play the game as intended, using DFB and DIB for quick level boosts on occasion. Thus the perceived problem will resolve itself in short order. But look on the bright side, those who want to run the content can, and there are plenty who are very happy to do so! When you're off in Kings Row, chasing down villains and righting wrongs, it doesn't matter what the others are doing.
