Latest Trick Arrow creation - Trick Arrow/Beam Rifle
Scarlet Shocker replied to KaizenSoze's topic in Defender
TA is a great set. I made a few very interesting TA chars on live. The base concept of this kind of jars in a way - a bow and a rifle and interchangeable attacks seems weird but it could be a lot of fun to play. I don't know much about BR but your stats are impressive -
The ATs I want to team with and why
Scarlet Shocker replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
Honestly I don't care who I play with or what ATs they are unless it's a particular challenge. This game has a fundamental strength in that it can be the game you want, and quite a different game for somebody else. That's an amazing and highly underrated quality and we forget it too frequently. -
My new character "routine" on entering the game

I play the game -
Never mind the quality, feel the width

Mary MacComber cursed one of the original settlers of Paragon to return and wreak havoc every century - when you get to the Millennial Man you get a badge you can keep

Alternative models for MM pets. Controllers get a few options (well some do) and the pets are similar to weapons in an MM's arsenal, so it's only fair. Vehicles - Cars, Trucks & Motorcycles; cosmetic travel powers that can be piloted through Paragon (and the RI) to get from A2B (and of course we could have road races) ATT that resembles a rocket ship to get me to the next mission. Why would I have a Longbow Flyer or an Arachnos troop ship to take me to a mission when I'm just about to beat down on them? The award of the Tourist badge would give you a costume power that... makes you look like a tourist, The only way you can travel around is by walking and pausing to take photos occasionally. While wearing this disguise you can be almost immune to residents of the zone you are in, but if you change back to your normal outfit there's a chance you get ganked by the local mobs because you're obviously a spy.

Has anyone rolled up a Bicentennial Man yet? What kind of AT would that be? Probably a Tech/Clockworky type thing

I also tried getting a red team going on Runion, but it proved to be quite difficult. I hope you have some better luck

I found a build in game even stranger than my own
Scarlet Shocker replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
I quite like off the wall builds. I love that people can play this game in kooky strange ways and still come up winning. That's one of the beauties of the game for me - you can play this game so differently every time. -
Did a mission on Tina Mc's arc last night against Carnies - I think the mission title was "Speak to the Person in Charge" - the mission entry text was "you here a tiny version of "As Time Goes By" playing" Small music. Who'd have thought?

It is entirely possible that: a) Paragon City was effectively extant way before this date but was renamed Paragon for some as yet unexplained reason (There are no Lore plaques to confirm or deny this.) b) Paragon was formed on the site of a nexus where Magic, Science, and strange phenomenon appeared - where monsters and people flocked to discover new forms of power - and where there are people there are more people in the form of traders, service providers, farmers and transports. c) We should perhaps not stress too much about the exact date that a fictional city that doesn't actually exist wasn't actually founded

Using power pools changed the game for me
Scarlet Shocker replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
I think it's quite easy to fall into the trap of going with what you know - which can be self-limiting. It's very good to sometimes explore different options and discover what (dis)advantages they bring to our game. I remember in my early days on live (around 2006 - I6 if memory serves) I had a character that wasn't performing well, in the mid-20s (back in the days when we were still mostly running around Steel Canyon) and I respecced it into Maneuvers and Tactics - without understanding how end hungry they were. It rendered the character unplayable and so it was swiftly deleted but that was a lesson in remaining conservative. I'm trying to improve my diversity but sometimes it's hard to make a compelling case for it. -
There are, but you can only ever visit them at midnight Thinking about it, you'll be right at home then Snarky! 😄

I got it. As useful as a rubber duck in the Sahara Thanks

How do they actually function?

You've been looking in your spam folder again haven't you Snarky? Those "enlargement" emails aren't relevant here. 🤣

I've spoken with Zed and the Mid's guys on their discord.

I just learned this - if it's common knowledge, then I apologise but this tune is more than a little familiar. From 1941, I give you... King's Row

Huntsman spiders - just go straight down the middle and turn all numbers orange 🙂

so I had an issue just this weekend, trying to post a build and getting an error in the doing thereof. The errors were inconsistent and I did not necessarily screenshot them but suffice to say that I had a fail. I submitted reports to all and had some convos - but I was disappointed to find that the general consensus is "they say it's them" I want to be clear here that I am not in any way apportioning blame nor calling anyone out - I totally get we're working in an environment where we have volunteers who are both passionate and dedicated. This isn't about them or us or anyone. But it does seem that there may be a blockage in comms. Mid's is a vital resource to this game and has been since it was released on live back in 2000+dot. Indeed if it was a commercial game, I would expect Mid's and the Costume creator to have been hived off into a connected mobile app - build and design your toon while you're not on your PC. I get that all the teams here volunteer their time, their abilities, and their passion to make the game better - but I would love there to be more open channels because when I come here to seek advice, builds are almost essential these days. It would be very difficult to envisage a world without Mids in its midst, so to speak. It's so valuable, it's essentially a core element. One is diminished without the other (and the flip doesn't bear thinking about.) So would it be possible to get the teams from both to put collective genius heads together and sort a fix? I would seriously love that and I am sure I would not be alone. And if you are in management of either side, please take this in the spirit of intent - I'm not having a pop, but I am a bit frustrated when I craft a thing of (potential) beauty for the world's perusal to be told "nope"
