  1. Speeding's always been a thing - it was common on Defiant before GR and Freedom launched. Mostly it started for the tedious hunts on things like Numina, where zoning and "Defeat X of Y" was a real bugbear but it got much worse towards sunset simply because people realised they could do 3 TFs in the time it usually takes to do 2 and that meant extra merits for their effort. Personally I hate that. I enjoy the experience for its own sake and people who decide to grandstand annoy me. But of course the team lead does have the option of kicking the worst offenders, and players can decide to call it a day before the TF ends if it's just too horrid to persevere.
  2. I stand corrected, thanks for the info.
  3. I was dabbling on a Mind/Poison last night. Only low level but very potent. Psi powers are very poorly resisted by mobs, same as Poison so there's a kind of double whammy and there's a few single target powers there for better effect.
  4. I used to enjoy running PVP events. I feel like we should organize a few more!
  5. I rarely play melee toons and as a consequence of that I loathe taking the Fighting Pool powers. They are so wasteful on a good build if you're not getting into the thick of things, but sometimes feel necessary. I especially dislike having to take a melee power I will never use (you get 2 good Prestige melee powers from P2W vendors) just to get the others and there are often superior solutions out there. On the rare occasions that I have taken melee toons (tanks and brutes only) I've never found the Fighting Pool to be an absolute requirement... so in many ways it seems so niche as to be almost redundant for my play style. You also have a hard on for attuning stuff. I would never attune a proc unless I got one at significantly higher level than I usually play... so if I exemp down it still works. If you're exemping down a great deal, I'd suggest you're paying way too much for a build. I would prefer to make a 2nd build and use cheaper IOs and cheap invention sets at an appropriate level. You have a choice of 3 builds per character at level 50 after all.
  6. I've mostly moved permanently to a new shard and I'm having a great time. Population is good but no queuing, friendly folks (more so than on the main two) and I feel like I'm making good progress and got some new globals. For me this has worked well and I've considered moving more characters to Indom, but that would mean relinquishing my SGs and bases and I'm crap at base building so I don't want to have to redo all of that... It's also no real hardship to let my 50s languish on other shards... that gives me some characters to play should I feel the urge in future.
  7. Make Grandville grate, again!
  8. Stuff is easy to find, if you know where to look and that's not always apparent here
  9. #fixtitforya
  10. Was there not a mod tool that allowed players to change the sounds locally? I thought it was reasonably popular on live but I may be misremembering.
  11. Do they ever?
  12. Finally! We'll get Cowpower from the Pocket D Winter Chalet! MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  13. I do and thanks for noticing. Damage is good for a controller, I'd say it's up there especially on single targets where Poison comes into its own but that's from my "seat of pants" expertise, I've got no empirical data. It is one of the most fun sets to play IMO. Recharge isn't an issue. Because the primary pet is a summon and forget there's no need to aim for perma- anything, so when constructing a build I make no special provision for it. As an aside, back on Live EU servers, a Thugs/Poison MM was considered to be one of the best AV killers in game given that Poison does so much debuff to single target foes and the pets (especially Gang War) allowed the Player to remain relatively unhurt
  14. I notice there's quite a lot in the upcoming Page 7 updates including new power sets. I can't help but feel that those sets will need counter balancing, so I fully expect Page 8 to contain Chelsea Masterminds, which effectively elevates the MM Thug to the level of a Player Character and perhaps even Tottenham Hotspur Blast for those who always feel like they're coming up short!
  15. Dark/Poison is a very strong combination - works well in both PVE and PVP and can take out some very tough opponents Earth/Poison is also potent, with an ability to lock down large mobs while you pick off the worst offenders relatively quickly. As @TygerDarkstorm says it does lend itself to schoolboy humour as my toon from live "Stool" will attest to. I would also imagine that Ice/Poison would work exceptionally well - but balanced by extreme end issues, but the caveat there is I've never tried it.
  16. Could you type louder? I couldn't read that!!
  17. Careful you don't get into another fine mess!
  18. One of the great things about this game is the ability to convert inventions, both within and without their set. But I've never worked out which ones to convert. Some just seem to give endless dross, others seem to come up with exactly what I was looking for. How do I tell which is which? Seems so very difficult to tell.
  19. Well she was glow-ering at me!
  20. Put it in the Bulletin Terminals dotted across the city, that are more or less redundant currently
  21. Last time I went to see her and level up she gave me a real mouthful. I mean, she's not just angry, she's positively Incandescent!
  22. Pretty certain Time is not her secondary power!
