  1. Coldsore, a pain/ice defender.
  2. Always good to see other national themed heroes.
  3. I have a martial arts surgeon (who heals & buffs thanks to the Medicine and Experimentation pools). Her name is Health Kick.
  4. Here's another of my classic villains from Live: Professor Brainfreeze Mind Control / Ice Assault Dominator
  5. And with that, I think I am done on this topic. "A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking." -Steven Wright
  6. I don't think military service should be a consideration, not because I want to shut them out, but rather because I think there are other valid reasons for extended time away, and everyone should have some breathing room without having to worry that their beloved level 50 incarnate maxed out with T4s in everything will suddenly be generic... or even their beloved level 24 side character for lower level teaming or whatever. For some people it's military service, for others it might be health considerations, and others still might need a break because of relationship issues, family problems, chronic depression, onlline fatigue, or whatever. Also, as pointed out, I think collecting proof of military service could be tricky and probably not worth the hassle. The policy as was laid out by Jimmy gives people time... more for higher level characters, obviously. A draconian policy of "use it or lose it" only serves those who are active right now and will discourage people who need a break for whatever reason from coming back because their favorite characters might no longer be who they were. Personally, I think that time and effort should be dedicated to working around the unique name system, making names tied to global chat handles so anyone can use whatever character names they want and reputation earned by players from players should be on the name behind the name. Building a reputation on a bunch of characters named similarly, such as a bunch of Reapers, can be confusing if someone else comes along with a Reaper of their own. Is it the same player? Check the global chat handle. Maybe that person has multiple accounts. Ask. But, since that's probably a pipe dream... the naming thing has to be fair to everyone, whether they play daily, occasionally from month to month, or once in a while with an almost annual check in for events or whatever.
  7. Honestly, out of the couple dozen I want, I doubt any will be freed up.
  8. Another of my classic characters, this guy was created as an opposing force for Emerald Inferno. The backstory is that she, an Irish archaeologist student stumbled upon an amulet that gave her the power of the avatar of an Aztec god (Tlaloc). The presence of this divine energy woke something in the underworld, an Aztec demon-god that was cast out. He escaped and possessed a mortal, slowly transforming him into his own avatar of death and destruction... Itzcoliuhqui Ice Control / Dark Assault Dominator (also has not yet been recreated on Homecoming)
  9. As I understand it, though, it's not the policy that needs to be revised. It's the script they intend to run to enact the policy. They don't need people's ideas about what constitutes an active account or what level individual characters should be affected or whether or not 50s should be affected, or a specific formulae for how to make it "fair." They established the policy last year. It feels like you're confusing the term "policy" with the actual method for enforcing it.
  10. All the more reason it should be left in the HC team's hands alone. People will always push for the idea that benefits themselves the most (or the one they think will), and we don't need an excuse for conflict. Also, when did they claim it needs to be revised? The message from @GM Impervium makes it seem more like they are concerned with how it is implemented so that it doesn't have any unintended consequences, not that they feel that the policy needs to be revised.
  11. Here's an oldie that I haven't recreated... hero? More like a gardener with an exceptional green thumb. Botanical Betty Plant Control / Thermal Radiation Controller
  12. Feel free to borrow heavily from me anytime. ...except from my wallet. It's pretty light on influence.
  13. Agreed. A policy was set, an explanation given for why it hasn't been acted on yet. And now people are arguing over what they think would be the fair way to handle choose who/what the policy affects should be.
  14. After we got weapon customization and Ouroboros, I combined the two to create a different kind of time traveler... one who uses temporal tech to trade places with her ancestors (and a few descendants) to not only justify various different swords but entirely new individuals with each costume change. Although she has a sword of her own, they fight the battles she can't... or maybe battles they might be better suited for. The Legacy Warrior Broad Sword / Willpower Scrapper
  15. Did you discover a Tardis on top of Pocket D, or did you discover that outside normal space you can see that the underside of a Tardis looks like an extra-dimensional night club?
  16. @CrudeVileTerror It's more like 455. To be fair, that 277 number had to have been someone else, because I did not have that many when that number was given to us. Also, I would trade away half of that 455 for the couple dozen I want where I want them (TB).
  17. Regarding the idea that "good" names are being squatted on, I was inspired earlier to create a new energy / radiation sentinel and I snagged the name Unlawful on Torchbearer. I don't know what constitutes "good" for everyone, but it's a single word that doesn't use numbers to letters, symbols, or intentional misspelling to achieve the intent... a walking villainous power plant with intent to break some laws.
  18. Inspired by Nuclear Fusion Girl from a few posts back... I made a radioactive girl of my own. Color may have been more influenced by my own last post. Unlawful Energy Blast / Radiation Armor Sentinel
  19. Since Emerald Inferno has come up again, let's take a look at her alternate costumes. And while we're at it, I also created an animated logo title for her Virtueverse wiki page. I updated this to a non-animated version recently for addition to my matching coffee mug & T-shirt that I had printed with commissioned artwork. Both of the above were created at Cool Text Graphics Generator. Now, back to the costumes: Emerald's original costume way back in Issue 1 was very lackluster. I wanted her to be sporting a leather jacket over tights look, but the even-then robust costume creator lacked real jackets, and instead I had to use tights with pattern to achieve the look I wanted. What I got was alright, but when jackets were introduced, I was quite pleased with that. And then came trench coats, which is the semi-civilian look (at right) that I've settled on to this day. For a powered up look, I went with shiny tights and the flames pattern on gloves and boots, along with flaming aura and green hair & skin to match the tights. However, the Spectrum tights pieces do this look far more justice by letting more than just the aura appear to be glowing in the darkness and even, to an extend, full daylight (at the cost of having visible facial features like eyes and mouth). A hero with an Aztec-themed origin (sorta), I wanted to have an armored "warrior" look that she could shift into at times to look more intimidating / impressive. I created the costume below when the Justice / Sinister costume pieces were added. Wings were also unique to this costume because I rarely used it and never really liked the way they looked (because they weren't also on fire due to aura limitations). I have not recreated this costume on Homecoming, although I did create a toga costume for my adventures in Cimerora. When first created, Emerald was an Irish archaeology student who'd come to America looking for her father (following his trail to the Circle of Thorns). Since then, I've had her graduated to archaeology professor (following in her Da's footsteps, also thank you Day Jobs badges). As such, she needed some civilian attire. First is suitable for teaching at the university. Next is good for traditional digs and spelunking, and the third serves equally well as fun-in-the-sun beachwear or her own all-purpose "sexy tomb raider" style costume. Finally, for lite roleplay and informal selfies, I created the costume below for the holiday season. It's definitely not as Christmasy as some of my others, but she's not the festive type.
  20. Correct. There is definitely a difference between something being a concern and being a problem.
  21. I'm definitely for it, not fighting it. I would rather they proceed with caution. But I do disagree with some of the more draconian suggestions some people are making to determine what constitutes active accounts. I would be perfectly happy with it being set as by whole account and give up to a year before anything gets flagged. I am also okay with the policy that Jimmy has already laid out in the original post (which has not been acted on yet for reasons discussed by GM Impervium). I definitely would like to see names freed up as there are a couple dozen characters I have on Excelsior that I'd like to move over to Torchbearer but don't want to lose the names I have... but I'm not counting on anything. My very first reply to this topic on page one was that people should not get their hopes up when the name release policy is acted upon because there's no guarantee that the names they want will be among the ones freed up.
  22. When it's ready. As has been stated on page 2 of this thread, there's a reason they haven't rushed into it yet, and that's to ensure that it's done right and does not affect the wrong people. Quoting again below in case anyone jumped on board late and ignored the earlier pages of this thread.
  23. Absolutely, and I agree. However, we've seen a number of posts with people sharing their own ideas of what should constitute active and some even providing formulae to determine it. My least favorite suggestion so far has been the one where level 50 characters would need to log in at least one a month to show they're active.
