  1. I would suggest you look at Ice Armor. Chilling Embrace can let you "cheat" the aggro cap a bit, because the mobs in a 10' range a constantly being debuffed. Also, Icicles is constantly hitting mobs within 8' range. Both auras taunt on Brutes and Tanks. Even if you hit the aggro cap. Mobs are constantly being pulled back onto the list by the auras. If your primary has an aura that of course helps. The last part is effected use of taunt. Use it to pull mobs off teammates or pull additional groups. Even if the mobs exceed the aggro cap. I think the -range still applies forcing the mobs into melee range. My current preferred "tank" is my Staff/Ice Brute. Staff has a good AE combined with the Ice auras. Mobs stick to me like glue. Staff also has some nice secondary effects that provide nice benefits.
  2. Alas, what I have learned is that players were not using their Incarnates aggressively before page 7. Due to it being so easy. Now, due to the increased difficultly they are and it's making new CoT and Council not trivial, but easier than you expect. Note about soloing new Council and CoT. I have posted this in other threads. Tidge has already figured these things out. If you want to avoid the Galaxy rezes, break line of sight. Brutes and Tanks now get a mag 3.5 sleep in the Epic Psionic pool, which is good for knocking off those annoying resist shields. Yes, they will turn them back on, but if you include the sleep in your rotation it will keep the shield off a lot. Plus, they have no resists to psi damage. CoT bosses are nasty you need to move. I tend to trigger them at range to get them to drop tar patch and earthquake, then dart around a corner. All CoT are weak to end drain, they cannot nuke or keep those -tohit auras up without end.
  3. Here is why I prefer TK or Mental Blast over Poison Dart. First, the -regen from Dart is particularly useless against AV has most of them have resistance to -regen. You really need a massive amount of -regen to have a noticeable effect. Second, psi is rarely resisted by AVs or mobs using Unstoppable. I prefer TK over MB, because with Fate Sealed you get 100% KB and a chance for recharge if you slot Force Feedback. Good for stopping runners.
  4. Much like CoT in Dark Astoria. They are a separate spawndef and did not get page 7 updates.
  5. I agree a lot of defeat X badges should be points based. Except Kill Skull, everyone should have do that KR arc once or grind Perez Park. 🙂
  6. You mean an MMO that avoids tedious gear grinding and an actual fun combat system. It's not a training wheels MMO, it's a superior MMO! CoH cured me of "real" MMOs.
  7. And this is where I differ from a lot of players. I throughly enjoy the combat, the rewards as just a side bonus. Being able to use my powers in a team setting or solo is what I enjoy, with the possibility of failing. Watch spawns getting nuked and Judgement'ed (sic) before I can even reach them is not my idea of fun. This whole thread sounds just the feedback thread when they altered they attack types for some powers to not primarily target smash/lethal. People screamed the game was ruined. It would be too hard. Now, nobody thinks about it all. One year from barely anyone will remember that Council use to be puff cakes. The player base is skilled and adjusts quickly. I have already seen it in PI radios.
  8. We are just going to have to disagree on the meaning of my comment.
  9. The game current is probably the most solo friendly is very been. It's so easy to max out Incarnates. The action house is full of enhancement. SG buffs are easily available. As someone who likes running PUG. I know I am weird. I find it enjoyable to gather up 7 stranger and see what happens. At sub 50 levels, around +2/3 sometimes +4 even. It's fun, but at 50 it's just boring. A lot of players have gotten use to easy mode at 50 and don't want to stick around for a "slower" experience. I have noted more satisfaction in team chat when there is actually a bit of a struggle. Extreme versions of that would be AE 801s, but those are extreme missions most people won't join.
  10. Pedantic complaint. I probably still do not have 5 billion influence among all my toons. My point is that you don't have tons of influence to build strong toons. Once, you have boot strapped one toon to 50, which is the hardest part if you do it solo. Then it's easy enough to collect recipes and shop the auction house from that point forward. Given the a amount of super friendly people playing. Seed money to start is not that hard to get. Or just join an SG. Saying that only "rich" players can make builds that trivialize the high end is not true.
  11. I think you are looking for this task force to help with that. Mender Silos Task Force between this and Maria Jenkins you should be pretty close.
  12. I have never had 5 billion in influence. Never will. I have farmed some, crafted a lot, and just played. You make a lot of influence just playing. My problem with high end. Practically no risk for reward. Mob are still getting wiped out incredible quick. So, quick that I can barely have to time to click more than 1-2 attacks sometimes. Doesn't feel fun. Doesn't feel powerful. It's feels boring. Add a "little" bit of difficultly and people might actually have to use a "tiny" bit of teamwork. Also, I have suggested nerfs. I think the problem is on both ends.
  13. Politely disagree. The updated Circle of Thorns and Arachnos are still much nastier than Council. Council are just not the punching bags they used to be. The game is too easy at the high end. Old Council were a joke. Now, at least they are a bit more dangerous. PI radio teams are still ripping through them, just have to use more powers now. Controls are now a bit more useful. They at least speed up the clear time due to holding mobs that can transform or stopping them from using some of their nasty powers like those AOE galaxy powers.
  14. I don't believe the issue the OP was talking about was the lack of 50 DE. The only outdoor level 50 spawns in PI are in the Portal Corp parking lots, which is a heavily trafficked area. I believe they are asking for more level 50 spawns in general in PI. The DE are more obvious candidates. I agree. There are only a few places in the game where level 50 or higher spawn at "street". RWZ as you mentioned, PI, Grandville, and the back side of Dark Astoria. PI is by far the most accessible. I have often logged and just for fun street sweeped the parking lot. And I often stopped because there can be several people doing the same thing. In general I want more street accessible level 50 or higher mobs. And suggested basically the same thing as the OP for RWZ and DA.
  15. You mean the same end of the map where there are level 50 boss spawns all over the parking lots. That are directly in line of the SG portal, to the Portal Corp, or the police station which which often have level 47+ nearby. Strangely, the parking lot is not littered with lowbies. It's like players are able to understand the risk.
  16. What is your Night Widow attack chain? For me it's, stealth->Build Up->Spin->Placate->Slash->Psychic Scream if things are spread out. Then it's hitting the nearest targets while waiting to placate->slash or spin. The build is high recharge so placate and/or Build Up are up pretty quick. Takes nice meaty chunks out of the mobs. Does you Fort build have a lot of procs? Just wondering why it's running so hot.
  17. IMO. The animations are a bit clunky. The melee attacks are pretty meh. It's not the damage of the attack, it's just one is a slow PBAOE, the other is a narrow melee cone. Only Skewer is good in actual play. It is really good at immobilizing mobs. Slot for that, not for hold in Vines. Vines->Blizzard, it's nasty.
  18. First you're dealing the page 7 CoT, which are noticeably nastier than before. Keep an eye out for the Earthquake and Tar Patch indicators. If you see one, move immediately out of range. Do you have your Rad debuffs slotted? That will help. Holds can break mob toggles. I know it's close quarters, but hit and run works, or at least hit and break line of sight. Force the mobs to come into your debuff aura range. Find ways to get them clumped up for your Fire aoes. Figure out which mobs are causing you the most issues. Also, some combos solo better than others. My elec/ice blaster can solo just about anything. End drain and slows are very useful.
  19. Final badger 83 capsules.
  20. Second badger completed 114 capsules.
  21. Wow I really had crap luck.
  22. Quick and dirty average is 81 capsules.
  23. Solo
  24. Sigh. Took 118 capsules to get all the badges. Worse than the Winter event. I wish there was a way to increase the spawn rate of CoT and Rikti.
