  1. Take Tactics? Kismet? Slot some accuracy? Controllers get self buffs with +tohitt. There's no reason to skip your standard AoE hold, you're doing your team a disservice not taking them. You can also proc the hell out of the aoe hold for some real nice damage for those of you wanting that. I have the purple and pvp proc in mine and it feeds well into my aoe damage without adding all the other procs you can into this one. AoE holds are just too good and adaptable to find excuses not to take it. TK was broken good long ago the way it was, same would have been true for Mass Confusion had they not changed that before IO's came on the scene. TK is easily skippable now. A happy medium for TK sure, add some kind of -tohitt to the aoe sleep and reshuffle the first 4 powers in Mind and call it a day for those clamoring for a change to the set.
  2. There's Mass Confusion and Total Domination which you can alternate for perma control. On top of that you have a sleep which is actually the most effective control (which I don't take for those pointing out the aoe carnage) and also terrify, both as soft control which accentuate your already hard control you can do throughout the map. Sure it's no broken bonfire or training wheels easy plant control with SoC and creeper vines that each hold their own aggro. Mind control can already control the map with ease permanently which most sets can not do unless you're the abusively bad habit forming powersets mentioned above. Lets make every powerset have 1 I win button so we don't need to leverage the rest of the trash in these powersets eh.
  3. I see, the old "troll" defense. Well you have a good day then.
  4. If I can do it so can you is the gist of what I'm saying. How easy do you want this game to become? Don't assume the people here against the super buff being proposed are "never changers", that's "cringey".
  5. If someone isn't able to grasp how well they can do on a Mind character wouldn't being unable to adapt qualify them as a "never changer"? I'm all for changes where it makes sense, reverting EM back to what it was with a cute new mechanic was fine, you want to change my dom into a god, sure. But maybe some of the problem lies within those that are unable to adapt their play style.
  6. I treasure my anonymity and recreation well above showing off. I hear you though, seeing is believing.
  7. I don't stream nor do I feel a need to show off my recreational activity, I'm from the day when you played your Nintendo and were content in that. If you have a twitch/whatever account and want to come along and video tape me while I play then sure. I would need a good camera man but I'd have no qualms in showing what my dom can do. No pylon's or farms though, just good old fashioned +4/8 Carnies, Arachnos, DA missions and what have you.
  8. I have, you're saying it's bad with little to back up your claim beyond your opinion. I show you a list where people think otherwise. Then drawing on my years of wizardly knowledge about the subject. What's there for me not to like? Mind has been like this for ages, so the onus it seems would be for YOU to prove why it's not that good wouldn't it? Maybe some back story you may have? A lousy experience perhaps? But I still indulged you and detailed reasons and links on why you shouldn't turn already my best character into a god. I have to agree with @SwitchFade that these topics keep popping up don't move the needle any further for those of you asking for a major buff to a powerset that at best could use a slight tuning.
  9. People that play the obvious assault sets i.e. Scrappers, Stalkers, Blasters, Doms, Brutes and Tanks tend to want to make the most efficient machine they can make. People that play support may be a bit more casual and are stuck thinking they need to bring some sort of heal0r. Cold is very powerful, I know I have one. But my mindset is not stuck in fanciful thinking, I'm more prone to play something I find to be the most efficient, especially with IO's and how teammates will already be decked out with them. Which a great deal of that list DOES show the trend. Why else would there have been such a high amount of Titan Weapon's scrappers if it weren't good? That's really the only major thing that has changed since this list was made. Yes you can't infer everything from the list, but it does give you a good idea of what works well. Being that doms are all about assault where someone with a mindset of support would be rooted out and someone geared more towards making an efficient character would be more prevalent and Mind control being so high kind of tells me it's good. Then having played it and seeing what I can do compared to my blasters, tanks, stalkers and debuffers.... Yeah Mind is A-okay.
  10. That's support set specific. People from MMO's gravitate to thinking in a box and choose empathy. Not HC's fault they do so. Its a list to show a trend and Fire blast is highly chosen across all sets for a reason. It's safe to assume some support sets get chosen based on what their reputation should be and the personality of the person picking it. If we're talking damage and strength of a character to excel on their own merit people tend to go for the more efficient power choices. So yes Empathy is highly picked for nostalgia, Fire is highly picked because it's the best. I'd reckon such the divergence in selection of Mind control between Doms and Controllers that there may be some efficiency evaluation going on.
  11. I did give my counterargument to the data you were inferring was true from your perspective of play to an actual set of data provided by the very Homecoming statistics. I'm sorry if showing actual facts and relating my experience to these linked facts wasn't good enough for you. In summary yes "rookies" would throw their hands up and say Mind control is trash when from my perspective it is anything but. I have plenty of experience on a Mind character to give my opinion thanks.
  12. And yes that's fine, controllers have a whole support set they can concentrate on leveraging their team or debuffs against the targets with and what have you. You can do very well to boost your abilities with things like fulcrum shift and all the other great things in support sets. Yes control has very little offensive punch in their primary powersets to throw out there but if that's all you want to focus on then why not hop onto a blaster or defender? Don't the epic pools get you some nice toys? Again though, instant mass confusion (with the contagious confusion proc) will seriously up the damage being done to the enemy. Confuse powers up your damage on a much better scale than most pets you could have playing alongside you. Instant Mass Confusion with the proc or not is a strength for either AT, you can look at it however you want but I'll take confuse powers over a semi useful pet any day on any AT. They really should tone down Seeds of Confusion so people get the idea of just how good confuse powers can be. It's not like Plant doesn't have many other things in its kit that everyone seems to want. You can not reduce the recharge on Mass Confusion. It'd be like making nukes into what they are today. If you want to add like say a self buff that adds dmg/tohitt per enemy hit that stacks onto you kind of like Soul Drain or something else that'll identify Mass Confusion as a true t9 power and a power you should be taking I'm fine with adding something on that wouldn't make it any more OP than it is now.
  13. Well calling Mind dom's underpowered is a rookie statement. Controller's sure they could use a buff but is that really solely Mass Confusion's fault? Or some not thinking outside of the box?
  14. You can see that on dom's Mind is the 2nd most popular pick right after the uber Plant control. On Controllers it is bottom. This is a tad old data but the trend seems about right. Just because a bunch of rookies don't understand the secret sauce in Mind dom's, doesn't make them weak. If you'd like to see how a Mind character plays in the hands of someone that has been playing Mind doms since day 1 of villains being live I can give you the grand tour.
  15. True, being in domination really helps make Mind Control shine. All of the control in Mind is so fluid and being instantaneous is fabulous on doms. That's why you see Mind being so popular on doms as opposed to controllers. But on a controller you could take Mass Confusion and slot the Contagious Confusion proc so the confuse becomes instant and on Total Domination you can slot the +2 mag hold proc for instant holding, the recharge on these powers makes it so these procs will fire on just about everything, so there is ways to have the control in Mind on a controller that a dom can get. One of my suggestions to help out controllers a bit is to allow the aoe hold on controllers to proc a +2 mag hold as its base. Not just on Mind but all controllers.
  16. I'm open to tweaks to Mind control for the rest of you that clamor for it. But if you'd like to come play with my dom and see how good she is then want to have it buffed into a living god, well... okay, you mortals bow before the almighty Mezmera!
  17. True. That's where tanks and defenders with their naturally higher mitigation/utility values have their advantages come into play and are able to slot procs better than a scrapper who would be able to take advantage of more procs because surviving to do the damage is important as well, a scrappers advantageous value is in slotting their damage abilities well enhanced. Pylon times are measuring the potency of your attack chains. Not that you can survive well in all situations to deal that damage. I don't find judging something solely by pylon times to be a good measuring stick because it is wise to build in survival to pair with the best damage you can bring.
  18. One 53 Acc/Dmg HO is 38%. Musculature is another 45% which also 2/3 of that factors past ED values. You're sitting at 83% or less damage in these powers when another 53 HO will get you to 100-105%. Dropping one minor dmg proc with an uncertain proc rate for another 20-25% will make up for that proc damage for certain ATs, especially scrappers, but this additional slotted dmg value in essence will always proc. There's a sweet spot for proc's and some regular slotting of your abilities.
  19. I'd say the self-awareness kicked in when they changed Mass Confusion before those new shinies came out. This nerf was before IO's and likely an anticipation of how strong control was about to be. Although I do like my sci-fi movies where the Psychic comes to realize their full potential I just don't think that walking through missions perma-confusing the map would seem very challenging. Those new shinies were intentionally left a bit too good likely to promote how good of a job they did at creating something new that people wanted to play with. They were and still are due for some toning down in some areas.
  20. We've had quite a few mid level arcs added recently. Plus there's also the limitless archive of content to do pre-45. Going Rogue was going to be throwing a bone to the people that found their forever character and wanted more challenging stuff to do at the end with them. The regular folk have had plenty of cake by now.
  21. Now although I do agree if they are looking into power creep that them looking into procs is a bit justified. But really all I wanted since when they put up a pole long ago of people's wants for the future direction that more content to do would be my most appealing avenue of time spent tinkering with the game. You can only run the same old late content so much before it's just all so stale, so yes new intriguing fights and more end game content is the main want. They can overlook all the OP things and not waste time tinkering with Titan Weapons and everything else if we all get more to do.
  22. Excelsior; Letifera is the name, we can schedule a play date this weekend if you like.
  23. Tell you what. Let's duo some content. I'll bring my best character I've got which is Mind/Energy dom and you can bring whatever character you think will be best for you, we can fight some +4/8 carnies, arachnos and incarnate missions or whatever you like. I'll even refrain from using my aoe control until you go down. Then you can tell me how my dom would be a worse asset to a team than someone that needs to be looked after? What @Monos King had to say is right on point, even though he seems to be more on your side at the moment, I don't think he realizes though we have cookies over here. Building the best character you can be is the goal so you have much more adaptability.
  24. I think there's a misunderstanding on the one side of "no don't touch my procs!". There seems to be an inclination to find fault in anything said by @Naraka and any of those on that side of the fence that can see how out of whack some builds can get not because we haven't played them at least some, but that we do play them and it seems a bit over the top. The dev team stated their future intent a while back about looking into power creep with procs being one of them. I know I've stated that I do hope they come to a happy medium for everyone involved because 2-3 procs in a power I can see as okay skewing towards exploitive but done right is fine. I do hope they do this with a scalpel hybrid approach where they review the various procs but also some of these powers themselves seeing how night and day an underpowered long recharging aoe power can be when slotted as a proc bomb. But yes typically you're slamming one or two powers with procs and then building bonuses around them to maximize their effect.
