This is why I only leave the first page of characters for a rotation. Heck I hardly ever get to the bottom of the first page. I'll typically play a handful of AT's and not their certain counterparts., usually the villain AT's because they're cooler. How many tanks, stalkers, doms, blasters and corruptors do you really need to play anyways? Then why play the gimp version alternatives? I mean who needs a brute when you can playy a tank or blaster? Or a scrapper when you can murder things just as well on a stalker or blaster? I'll give you defenders though they're quite good I'm just a villain homer with my corruptor.

Yeah what Werner said, I'd look to slot for psi resist all over too. I do that on my shield tank but on my stalker I just leave it with that psi hole.

Okay fine I'll come show you how it's done. But you have no awareness if you don't think I'm going to use my best power to get a mob to kill itself while I fight another one. If you're going to be in there to observe that I'm not using temp powers, inspirations or Lore's that's fine. But beyond that observation means being quiet, which I had warned you twice to be quiet if you'll want me to stay and indulge you. After the 2nd time of you telling me what I was allowed to do while I was using my regular abilities I had to see myself off. I even said that I'd be fine with doing it separate of having you inside with your partner that was videoing me. Let this die. It's unreal the levels you're going to to prove how dense you are about Mind Control. Your Reddit community can think you a god or whatever, but we know better here.

I haven't played an Invuln tank since live but on my stalker all of the resists I 4 slot each one with Unbreakable Guards for that melee defense bonus. Dull Pain can go a couple ways but I have a full set of Numina. I low slot the defense powers with a LotG but you will probably want to be a bit creative with Invincibility since it's such a good power.

Plus there's a couple of other things to consider which is advantageous to the tank. With the much better mitigation tanks can short themselves a bit still on a build and dump a bunch of procs into a few powers and get some real good damage out of certain powers. Then they don't have to keep the pedal pressed to the metal to maintain a fury mechanic so they can get consistent strong damage from start to stop especially with the larger aoe's. Brutes are still doing just fine though. Sure Tanks got a bit overtuned but then there's still the demi-god Blasters loitering around so how jealous can Brutes really get?

Why not have both? You do have access to 3 builds on a character. If I need to hop onto my tank for the team it's usually for a certain purpose where having taunt will be a factor. If not I'd just stay on me blast0r. But I do have a second damage build on my tauntless tank in case I just feel like playing the tank.

Don't pay him much mind. When I was showing him how much faster Mind control can accomplish things I was Mass Confusing one group and then engaging a 2nd. Which he was bickering with me that I wasn't allowed to do that. That should give you an idea of where his mindset is at.

Hasten is one of the best pool powers you can take for any AT. It's cheap to get, it only costs you one of your pool powers, and nets you 70% recharge, that's 7 purple set bonuses in one power. It's very good to take hasten on a dominator because it allows the rest of your build some flexibility like adding defense bonuses and other things. Typically I like to aim to take Hasten then add in another 85-100% additional recharge bonuses while also building for other things. All of my characters take Hasten and put it on auto so I don't confuse myself and just do the same with my dom, I like to put Domination then real close to the powers I click the most, trained habit.

You lost any objectivity when you were telling me how I am allowed to use Mass Confusion. While doing so in the middle of me fighting. Constantly talking during someone's backswing is considered very bad etiquette.

See my last response. You don't have any idea how Mind Control plays. What you are doing in this topic befuddles me. You can toss out whatever gibberish you like, it doesn't make you look any more objective.

We are in the Mind control topic. If you can't grasp the simple concept of what Mass Confusion allows you to do maybe crawl back into the "Dark/Dark" control topic. You're the one that wants to dictate how someone is allowed to deploy playing their primary powerset like Mind control is supposed to play like Dark control for some reason. I have played almost all of the dom controls and assaults. I'm objective enough to know there's differences in powers.

Then there's people that want someone to show them how they can claim to clear a map so much faster than their control can allow by following their rules of no inspirations, no temp powers, then telling them no Lores so okay lets reset. This person starts to show them that they can use the powers in their primary such as Confuse and Mass Confuse to have half of the map kill itself for much faster clear times than Dark Control could ever hope to achieve. Upon realizing this the person watching gets salty that Mind control has that kind of control and then starts to bicker with how this person is allowed to deploy their primary control powers in the middle of showing them. No one disputes Dark control is better for AV's. The dps is far better on Energy assault for instance though. I know because I have played both. Yes Dark assault has -tohitt and a heal but outside of Moonbeam there's not much oomph, which you can easily determine by creating a new character and looking at the dpa when picking powers. Maybe you should test out Mind control before you tell someone how they are allowed to use Mass Confusion. Objectivity is not your strong suit.

I have a Mind/Dark. To grind hard into the AV's you need high DPS and/or lots of pets. Dark Assault has more survivability in it thanks to the heal but in terms of DPS is far outclassed by lots of assaults. If you can manage your survivability in other ways you're better off with a more damaging assault. Dark control is the better ST damage source of the controls with the pets it has plus the -tohitt that goes along with its control aspect.

Yeah tremor is the one I'd lose but I didn't want to insinuate you should pick a better patron. 😜 Mesmerize I hardly use but for when I can stop something in its tracks with little effort like perma sleeping Ghost Widow or something. Minimal slotting, still very effective, just not a bread and butter power. My first pick powers hardly ever get slots dedicated to them, my t1 blasts never even get into my tray, sad you're stuck with quickly obsolete powers. No doubt Terrify is a great power, it's just hard slotting wise to identify the most optimal thing you'd want to do with it. It for sure gets cast quite frequently though and certainly does amp up the damage plus that soft control.

Can't put it there I already tried that. You can put it in health or any selected power that provides health/regen. It'll fire inconsistently between 30-70% yes and for certain when your health gets low but it feels a bit delayed, you'll see your health is real low and be like "okay absorb shield where are you" then it'll fire. You just need that proc slotted and it'll fire on its own no matter what power it is in, except Rest.

I'm putting this out there right now if this ever does become a thing I'd like to submit my petition right now for Ghost Widow's name to be released. She's not really using it much anyways and it'll be left in far better hands. I've already tried doing this in a more subversive way by having Lord Recluse let me replace her as one of his patrons but he's not having it so I need more official channels. I keep bringing up how many times I've beaten up Mis Lib and all those heroes for him and he keeps throwing it back in my face that he wouldn't need me for his strike force if I would quit helping Mis Lib in the first place.

If I had the choice over divesting time and resources to either more endgame content that we all can enjoy or the inner technical workings of a name release I'd gladly sport "Paper Bag Face Villain 1023012" to play some fresh content. Heck I'd take a fresh new pair of shoes over the name release.

I was looking to free up a power or two for you, 7 assault powers feels like one too many, but looking at Earth they all seem pretty decent, if anything I was looking at Hurl Boulder but that's the only ranged attacked in the set. You'll see what powers you can get off in your chain and the least used ones that you could sub out for a defense shield or something.

If I'm coming off more in defense of the person with little forum presence it's more that I'm stating they should have left that stuff between them in game. I am in no way coming to the defense of the person that started this topic and then fuels their topic by exampling their pettiness in game with someone that likely cares little for this niche topic so by default it'll look like I'm defending the non-OP. This is where when I ask to team from someone that may have broadcasted in LFG it gets a bit nuanced. I'll always tell them in a short and sweet tell so they can reply just the same. If I see they have 7 of 8 it's likely I might not get the spot so no biggie if I don't get a response or they didn't move along yet and took the time to respond to each person with "full" that's cool but I don't expect that. But to @Ukase's pet peeve when I tell someone and they said they only had 3 or so to start for whatever they're forming and I never get a response after a few minutes that does irk me some. So after bit if I see that person say in LFG they are now full I'll find that a bit suspect. I do tend to try and be a bit humorous in General chat from time to time so I may suspect that person may have me on ignore in which case no biggie I wouldn't want to team with someone with little humor, there'll be other boats. I like to test that hypothesis with a tell wishing Battle Maiden luck sticking that spear where the sun don't shine. It usually elicits a funny response and now that leader is left saddened they won't get to team with someone with such humor. 😜

A few things I go with on my Mind dom. Mesmerize - 1 slot 50+5 Apoc dmg Dominate - I do the whole set of Superior Ascendancy but if you're keeping Mass Hypnosis then Apoc is fine here but I'd move the proc in and the Dmg IO to Mesmerize Total Domination - I 5 the purple set w/proc plus gladiator net proc. The hold procs real well for some subtly juicy dmg. Terrify - It doesn't proc great because of the fast recharge but well enough because of the target count. Still I find this a filler power and slot it only to 3 Mass Confusion - I have a full set of malaise since I don't mind all that damage proc'ing since I'm using this in the thick of a fight to start. I put the full purple set into ST confuse in case I want to be sneaky. Unleash Potential - I 5 slot it, 4 Shield Walls all the ones with recharge +5 w/the unique then a lotg. I take this power at 20 or at least 22 so my defenses travel with me. You will probably get more mileage from subbing out CJ for Concealment or Leadership pool. As for incarnates I strictly use Hybrid assault double hit since the defenses are already top notch. I like Diamagnetic for interface since the -tohitt amplifies on top of my defenses and the -regen is fine. Carnies are Seers but much better. I go Agility since it'll boost all of my low slotted defenses with just lotg's plus it feeds UP real well, but then I have my emergency endurance refill in Soul which your Sharkies don't get ya so you may need to stay Cardiac. I'll leave you to your Earth/Shark powers. Not entirely too shabby though.
