  1. Honestly doms could use some more toys to play around with. In terms of available power sets they get the shaft. Control could use a few new powers and the dom assaults could get a few sets hashed out with current available powers. You just need to have the proper synergetic powers to balance it with and add a unique powerboost/BU ability. I for certain want a whips assault since demons summoning has 3 ranged whip attacks ready made to be ported over. Just need to find 3 melee attacks that synergize well with it, one of which being a pbaoe and then add in a strong ranged attack in either a snipe or something in place of it and then it's unique ability, then some filler ranged attack. Which in some cases you can already do with many more sets like dp/kitana for a weapon assault set and lots others.
  2. Plant is the top control set for Doms. Fire is a top tier assault set for Doms, it's a bit more of a ranged playstyle. Paired together it's the beefiest Dom (damage-wise) outside of knowing what else you can get out of your Epic pools. The only thing about /Fire is that you're almost shoehorned into taking the Fire epic pool because how well Fiery Embrace interacts with Fire Ball. Plant/Fire is top tier. But then a lot of things pair well with Plant.
  3. You can always email @Yomo Kimyata to ask for some money that you just gave him.
  4. On Excelsior back when it was a bit more fresh I used to organize itrials and task forces a little more frequently. This was back before the usual's like @Oklahoman, Cosmic Council and a few others had established their willingness to keep the ball rolling on these things for everyone. I get it, it can be like herding cats leading some of these things. I do appreciate tells more so because I'm hearing the ping and seeing the yellow letters, if you want them to be zoned for that instant invite cool, but you can still just tell them with a short sweet "ouro" or "rwz". There's lots to filter and parse if you're looking to play, so having the patience and understanding that some people want to be more forthright with wanting to play with you is a good character trait to develop, look on the bright side leading these things is growing you as well to be more adaptable.
  5. I like what they've done with Energy tons. It is very well rounded in melee and very strong ranged attacks for stragglers. What it is lacking though is aoe damage. While deciding what secondary you want to go with you should also be looking at the Epic pools to see what you can round out for the characters weaknesses. Dom's have very good epic pools but to me Soul Mastery is a cut above the rest and pairs real nice with its vast aoe damage to Energy's real strong ST focus. Like others are saying it really depends on what you want to do, the most suitable playstyle for doms is as a blapper. Ice and Energy are quite well rounded and suited for melee and runners, Earth is very strong and more melee focused as I'm sure a few others are as well like Savage and Martial. Psi is cool too but its more aoe focused and added survivability, but I find it boring with no real oomph. If anything I'd take a look at the assaults they revamped last time, they had me at what they did with Energy but I'm sure all of those were done real well.
  6. It's not an easy to identify thing. If you're getting that message after a respec it's usually involving a power pick that is associated with a weapon related to that power which is a costume piece. So it could be something as simple as a bow and there's ones you used to have to make unlockable like the vanguard bow which now in their generosity they allow you to look cool with at lvl 1. Or it could be an Epic pool power you may have just taken like the bane mace. The parts are already unlocked for you, the message just reaffirms after a respec to remind you about cool parts that used to be locked behind some scheme to get you to play more. You have these special pieces, just ignore the messages and play around with the weapons in the costume creator.
  7. While the game was away Khalisti was their Minecraft area to hone their knowledge on building regular things into a zone. That's how we got such a pretty Echo Plaza.
  8. *Lurking out of the shadows of Warburg* "Yo sucka gibme yer wallet!" "Okay, but can I buy us some ice cream first?" "Fine. But I want sprinkles!"
  9. When Paragon Studios has more parity in their PvP than you currently attain you may be going the wrong way.
  10. Now I want RDJ to voice Aeon for his cutscenes! I could only imagine how it'd sound for Manticore having to tell Shalice to cool it for the umpteenth time... But I thought we all already ad-libbed the cutscenes on our own. No one else does this? >.> <.<
  11. That was stating the obvious broken meta of blaster/defender's w/proc'd holds that currently undermines actual control characters in PvP. In PvE who cares you all can have access to holds, control character holds operate much better in that area. I was making the obvious correlation that we should not be gatekeeping any changes for the overall game because it might upset PvP at the moment. They're their own mess, they can sort themselves out after.
  12. You can't technically stop a blaster from blasting. You hold them they can still blast because you have to be in their range to blast them while they're "held". Then when they blast you with their hold it detonates a crap ton of damage. The only area a hold matters best from the control characters is the larger matches. But then you should be spiking them. The end result is doms being so underperforming they get swapped for corruptors. Sad. Yes PvP as a whole favors damage dealers and it keeps getting skewed further with "fixes".
  13. Here's the thing. I used to PvP my Mind/Nrg dom AFTER the i13 changes and still loved playing it. They broke mez down sure, but I'm objective enough to see how sad it was that once you ran someone out of breakfrees it was game over. So normalizing the mez system where it wasn't an auto win for my toon I was fine with. But as it stands the mez system currently favors the non control characters. Who just so happen to do what they do much better already. Sure in an 8v8 setting I know I'm getting spiked because you better spike the one with a TK to hold a healer and then can get back on target to hold the called target. Plus the inherent survival skills afforded doms were already limited what with having the lowest base hp. Thems just the breaks. Tell you what. Since the mez system currently favors blasters/defenders so much then just give my Dom an absorb shield in their secondary, 1800hp and raise my blasts to do more base damage than a blaster. Seems fair eh. I'd gladly trade a hold that lasts a smidge longer for a helping of everything the meta currently enjoys. Don't discount those coming in with fresh eyes. What has happened since the game was last on live to where it's at now has only further homogenized pvp to the arena of a few specific characters.
  14. On a well coordinated jump team sure, but so be it. Maybe don't give blasters absorb shields plus such insurmountable hp that a hold that lasts a few seconds longer seems like such a crucial difference. Or a nature defender that can just stop in the middle of a zone and shrug off damage like its nothing. Coordinating games, players were quick to point out not to use certain "broken" powers like TK (when it worked). Why no self policing on broken AT's? Only 2 blasters and 1 stalker per team and there goes your argument about a hold being broken. I'd rather the "experts" just reverted all of the "broken" powers they "fixed" that other AT's could leverage against these damage platforms with bags of hp. If you can't balance things better it'd make sense to me to allow disadvantaged things to have their OP toys as well. If you think a hold lasting a second or two longer is broken then man PvP sure does have a long way to go.
  15. Yes. Maybe we can get a Penelope Yin Mastery pool. Or a Penelope Yin Control set, start fresh. But then I'd like also for her outfit to be made available to wear so we can cosplay in true form.
  16. The Wind Control confuse with the stats you have listed is accurate as to what it does on Thunderspy. It's Mass Confusion on steroids just like Seeds is, but in place of minor aoe damage you're getting your endurance refilled to power you into your next broken Wind ability. If Wind is going to be made accessible it cannot be ported over straight from how the Knives use it. It's far too deadly left unchecked, kind of like how Plant is but a bit better.
  17. PvP needs to sort its own self out, whatever happens with procs happens and they can fix whatever for PvP after. A blaster or defender being able to load up on all those damage procs in their hold which detonate with much more frequency than on an actual control character devalues the actual control character if the mez system is going to remain as it is. Revert the mez system to what it was and see how fun things get. Dominators in domination were an I win button pretty much back before i13. If we're going to devalue mez, then damage, buff/debuffing and survivability should have no problem with their value being weighed on the table just as well.
  18. No, no that's not how this works! Only the womens get the bags, no need to waste 5 more seconds of dev time to make it available to all, that's misogynistic. What will you do with a gym bag anyways? We all know guys wear their gear under their clothes, just go find some cramp phone booth.
  19. It's really about all of the variables the devs need to take into context rather than a specific individual proc and certain powers abusing them like you say @Player-1. Like, my doms ST hold sees very little value in proc'ing that based just on the recharge and since some AT's have little room to spare slots I use my ST hold for my bonus building. But then I put a set of 5 of the purple hold set with the proc plus the pvp proc into my aoe hold since the recharge on that means it will fire a lot of procs quite well so it helps contribute well to aoe damage. On that same token on my tank's proc build I have Char that has a base 30s recharge which I have the ranged purple and pvp procs, hold purple and pvp proc, decimation proc and a 50+5 accuracy IO. My tank can spare all of these slots that my dom would use to build for bonuses since my tank performs the survivability function quite well by just taking their defense powers. And I can easily affect my global recharge to increase how many Char's I can blast out. In most areas I don't find procs to be too abusive except in some instances but trying to coral those instances with sweeping changes is what everyone here is hoping to avoid, no matter if you're on the side of the fence of procs are really overperforming or the side that wants things to stay as they are. I'm hoping there's an interesting approach underway in regards to procs that may end up offering more variety while toning down the aoe carnage a little bit. All in all I do not envy your position. 😝
  20. Not an explanation. Just spitballing. I have no familiarity with quicksand itself, just the concept, being familiar with ice slick and some of those same type of powers. If it doesn't take ANY -def enhancement, not even the plain SO and basic IO's then yeah it's likely to be just considered great -defense on its own at 25% and far too good if slotted which would be more plausible.
  21. It may have something to do with the constant effect of this target location power interacting with the procs inside those -def sets. The Achilles proc is a pretty strong one. Telekinesis doesn't take hold sets likely due to being able to pulse all of those procs. The power enhancement and bonuses in these powers likely isn't a reason to disallow, it's typically there being some possible proc abuse maybe they identified.
  22. One sec I'm rezzing you all, I have something in my eye *clicking vengeance*. Some powers just scream, I welcome my teammate's death.
  23. I'll restate the part I was trying to use as wheeling the thing back to topic. I'd like to see death penalties to be more meaningful and taking resurrect powers to be more useful as the OP stated. I appreciate there's so much less grind compared to live, but maybe spitball an idea that would give people pause on rare occasion. If say in the new harder difficulty HC alluded to that when you're in the LRSF fighting the 8 at the end that the Heroes will get a reverse vengeance buff for each teammate of yours that dies. Seeing a few dead in that fight on a team of proc'd out blasters with Shivans and Warburg nukes just being able to power through with 4 people dead is not how tough I used to remember this engagement being. Caution reinstated in that fight would be a good thing.
  24. While I don't see why there shouldn't be something likely easy to port over like more symbols allowed all around I do get the reasoning. This game dates back before there was this assault to peoples sensitivity. They meant no harm by leaving the Mars symbol for men and Venus for women. I'm sure James T Kirk would have no problem with any green women wearing a symbol of Mars. Back to the specific topic, more stuff that can be ported to women please. Just let me know which Seer I have to beat up to get HC a sample of their robes to craft and it shall be done.
  25. Yes control is quite good, verging on too great before the nuke changes and damage proc upgrade. Some damage powers were due for a tuning up but the current aoe carnage far outpaces how good control was. If aoe kill speeds are brought down just a smidge, not what it was before, but somewhere in between, by default control and support will see their value increased with no real change needing to take place.
