  1. Well wouldn't it be prudent to explain your niche reasoning right then and there as opposed to going and starting a forum topic to try and convince others your ways are right? You have a captive audience that very moment. Sure you don't have to explain yourself that's your right, just ignore the tell. If you cannot ignore a question about a very procedural thing most everyone is accustomed to doing in the game and then respond with your snark, cool that's your entitlement, and it's the person's entitlement to respond in kind. Alas I feel this is just circling so I won't be responding to your responses as that's my right.
  2. Yes it is in no way good manners to help someone in that very moment understand your niche stance on "No Tells" in the game. Such a helpful community eh? I'm all for having your own rules understandable to you and if you feel the selfish need to not help others understand where you're coming from when asked do you. But don't come whining on the boards to point out how petty you are being.
  3. If I ever do form anything anymore and someone dares question my authority good on them! If I'm forming an Apex/Tin Mage and I don't invite someone after they tell me but I respond with "RWZ" I will always get a follow up "Here". I mean I could explain to them that I'm a villain and have dirty heroes on my team so they all have to be in zone for me to invite people. If they're still curious and we have the team situated I have no problem indulging them with game knowledge.
  4. You're not understanding this logic so instead of connecting the dots for you I'll take your advice and divert no further time to explain things.
  5. ... actually takes very little time- much less time than explaining their specific reasons, which the forum post on the topic actually does in comprehensive manner. 2) Trying to manage replies while setting up a team can be stressful enough without having to explain your reason for why you're using certain parameters for setting the team up in the first place. The OP chose NO TELLS PLEASE (They said, please, by the way- I'd just like to point out) b/c it makes the process of setting up and leading the team smoother and/or less stressful for them. Having to explain the reasons why this works better for them does not make the process less difficult or stressful for them. In fact, it does the exact opposite. 3) If players looking for invites are really offended by the specifics of how team leaders handle their invites, fine- then they should feel free to do the team leading themselves and just form the teams via accepting PM's the way that they think everyone else should. But maybe they don't like to lead teams? Fine. Or maybe they didn't have time to lead a team on this particular occasion? Also fine. But in both circumstances, maybe they should just follow the protocol of the person doing that for them, instead of bitching about their methods. Regardless, certainly a FUCK YOU, was not in order here. Option 1: "search the forums for "NO TELLS PLEASE" please." Option 2: "It's easier to invite in zone" Seems to me it's faster to explain your reasoning in option 2 than telling someone to go off and search for enlightenment. Then bringing that drama to the very forum post to boast about whatever they think is cool to boast about smacks of D-baggery. You want to give a flippant attitude you get a flippant attitude, seems fair.
  6. If someone is curious as to what drives someone's behavior outside of the norm expected in this game and asks your take on it wouldn't it seem prudent to have your reasons and tell them that in the same amount of time it takes you to type for them to go read Nitche's books on human behavior? One snarky reply deserves another.
  7. You think DR hits defense/resist toons hard? Have a look at what it does to squishies. There's limited reasons to go outside such diverse builds as hp/procs on high damage/high survivability characters. DR as a whole in PvP needs a rethink. Then so does procs (which they are doing), the mez system, blaster and defender values in general, how unkillable we want to make melee. It's all pretty borked. There should be something threatening in every AT to their competitor, what fun is it to leap around on a tank with 3500hp with high resists/defense taunt boting? PvP right now feels like that Tales From The Crypt story of the kids swimming in a lake stuck adrift on the raft with a slime slowly picking off one AT at a time, finally one AT makes it to shore but they taunt the slime a little too well and it beaches itself to get the last one.
  8. We play in the same circle. Why do I need to make videos when we can just team up. I can breeze through a kill all Carnie mission 3 times as fast as you can without dying. Or half of those tough AE arcs. A stalker running through to the end and killing the last target and claiming they defeated every group just by running by them is pretty much what you're equating what your dom does group to group with stealth ST confuse. It's not new, nor unique. Because you can solo AVs a bit faster because you're on an inherently better ST damaging control with -tohitt that makes you the end all be all? You have a pet and an additional quasi pet along with Lores and any Epic pet you may have. Lets see how you do in Praetorian 54 missions. There's all kinds of measurements that can be had.
  9. Again. My assumption was I had other good teammates to provide additional dmg/mitigation. I was wrong hence I died quite a bit more on that first go through since I was on my team build. You keep bringing up the fact I died more than you'd usually expect but I don't get where you don't understand when you're on a team you're under the assumption teammates will work in a coordinated effort. You could have just said you'll be stealth solo ST confusing the whole TF so I could have just sat outside of the mission and grabbed some lunch, switched to my stealth build, or not even have come at all since I'm not feeling playing these TF's for 1.5 hrs unless I'm trying to crow about some mundane achievement. No problem though. Lets duo a bunch of content then. Now that I know I'd be on my own I can play in such a manner. But lets play a full spectrum of things which'll have you come out of your stealth shell, or can you not function in such a manner on that uber dark dom?
  10. No hate. The observation is that it's a divergent playstyle providing little benefit of what you're capable of offering to the rest of the 7 players. I didn't want to take days to complete the TF just to prove a point or I'd have stealthed everything like I know I can. Nor do I think anyone else wanted to either. You're strictly a solo artist, that's cool.
  11. I was assuming I had better teammates to help. I was wrong. Next run stealth pool it is.
  12. Again. Maybe they wouldn't be dead if you had provided some of that aoe control with the -tohitt goodness. But stealth ST confuse it is. The ITF hardcore with cheating Romans that breakfree from control is a hard ask. So either we drop the best damage we can along with things that provide debuffs to their damage abilities or everyone going in needs to just run through in invisible.
  13. Easily corrected when I just switch out my leadership pool for the stealth build. I now know I need to approach the map assuming I have one less teammate to help.
  14. Where was there ever a disagreement about Dark Control being S tier? It's not Plant good but it's still up there. Of all the control sets it is more damage oriented than the rest, but in terms of battlefield control it feels a bit naked. Thus Mind is your huckleberry if you want to maintain massive control then you can just lean a bit harder into your secondary and pools for the damage and defenses. That's where I'm confused how it can be said Mind control can't do the things to the whole map that I see it does whenever I play my dom. Unfamiliarity with how to play the set is more your undoing. Mind and Dark are both S minus tier.
  15. We know how you play it. In an ITF hardcore mode where we kind of need all hands on deck spamming their aoe you're off stealthing and ST confusing things. On the first go I was taking alphas for the team expecting I had teammates going to provide follow up mitigation, alas it wasn't to be. So I corrected myself within accordance of how I now knew how some teammates will hover far out of range in stealth and just use ST confuse. Yes I don't disagree that Dark is a bit more damage oriented than all the other controls. Plant outdoes us all though. I could just switch to my stealth pool build and spam ST confuse just the same. I just don't want to take hours on a TF that should take 30mins tops if all hands are on deck.
  16. AoE control is what control is supposed to provide to the battlefield so yes I'm aware that every power set carries that t7 aoe hold. Total Domination, Mass Confusion and Mass Hypnosis are instantaneous hard control. If you're solo or your teammates know not to hit your slept targets Hypnosis it can be considered hard control if not it's still great aoe mitigation and thus I acquiesce that it's more apt to consider it a soft control. Then you still have Terrify as another soft control.
  17. I don't even take the aoe sleep in Mind control, but it is pretty decent and it is there if you're having troubles with your control in this power set. If I ever need the instant control of a sleep I just go with Mesmerize for my starter power. Seeds of Confusion is broken, it behaves far too well for what else you can do in that set. Electric's confuse is meh. I don't disagree that it's bs other power sets have a better confuse at t5 than Mind's signature power. For starters tune down those other OP confuses like Mind control had done to theirs oh so long ago in anticipation of IOs coming out and being a thing. Terrify and Mass Hypnosis I consider both soft control. They should be layered in as such after you've dropped one of Total Domination or Mass Confusion. What need is there for a knock power when you can in a matter of seconds control 64 targets? Drop Total Domination then blast that group to their demise then move on to the next group, why waste time using a knockback power when the group is already well controlled to not fight back? There's no hole in Mind, in fact it has far better control than any other power set. Plant is better because it is all hammer, with Seeds acting the way it does and with Creepers providing aggro mitigation and the damage that it does. Aside from Plant overperforming there's nothing out there that can match the sophistication of Mind control. I'll give you TK needing a bit of a buff, not that I'll have room to take it, but because others need something to clamor for.
  18. It's best to leave any "-ist" out of your statements. Labeling and calling people names who simply oppose the suggestion does very little to further your argument. It's typically the go-to move of those who have nothing left to reason.
  19. Hey hey! She's a tank and thus as much padding in front I'd assume is much appreciated. Would you not want extra layers of Krypton DNA protection? It's Krypton Kevlar if you will. For @Triumphant I don't mind a sensual form semi-concealed in fictional form because I understand this stuff is not to be taken seriously. No more seriously than a muscle-bound dude being able to leap buildings in a single bound, we just don't need to see his shlong while he's doing it nor someone's boobs, some things should be left to your own imagination.
  20. What @arcane said. Tune down Seeds, Plant will be just fine and still has Creepers, then maybe give Mass Confusion a self buffing ability to differentiate it from the rest of the control confuses.
  21. Mind on controllers under performs because there's very little damage abilities in the power set. Where a dom can rely on their secondary for damage a controller has only support abilities to offer. Plus then on controllers you have to get creative with procs to try to attain the control a dom gets by just being in domination. This is why Gravity is so much better on controllers because those attacks in its set aren't redundant and mostly subpar compared to when it's on a dom. In Mind you can instantly sleep a full group, confuse the bosses to your side, if another group aggros you can toss out a Mass Confusion, then if a third group ambushes you then you can drop a Total Domination to stop them in their tracks, last in case you missed anyone on the map you can terrify everything in front of you. The sleep and terrify recharge pretty fast that you can maintain control easily. No control can control the map like Mind, but yeah they're only good on AV's. Clearly you have little experience with Mind control or you'd never say a Mind dom is only good in AV engagements. As a rule I tend to not want to rank things I have little experience with.
  22. You get 2 hard aoe controls and 2 soft aoe controls in Mind and tons of stealthy play if that's your style. You can pick apart mobs at your leisure easily being in domination or you can drop the hammer. No other dom can boast that.
  23. Lol Mind is S tier. Plant outshines all because it's broken but Mind is just behind it.
  24. Yeah but that's a bridge easily crossed once you're there. When it gets to that part just tell everyone not to use any temps and have a few people already designated for temp duty.
  25. I put on my best duds for that DD but it seems to always pick the person wearing jeans and a t-shirt or basic tights with a fire aura. So I feel you with who should get the screen time. But I think there should be a team vote as you que up one of these things for who should get to walk the catwalk. If there's a mutiny against the leader so be it, leaders must make sacrifices, plus it'll have you want to up your costume creation game.
