Hey there,

So I took the time to remake my MC/Psi Dominator out on the Beta server, tricked her out like she is below, and took her for a spin.  The results are very promising.  I did have soem gaps in Domination, but I think that was just a general issue of "losing time in between mobs" paired with "a little rust at playing perma-Dom".

If anyone sees something that is way out of line with this, or even something that could use a small tweak, I'd love some feedback.

Later,

Generator

PS - In Mids, how does one boost enhancements?  All the IOs in Hasten should be 50+5s.

Combat Jumping offers protection from Immobilization:

https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Leaping#Combat_Jumping

Hover offers "pseudo-knockback" protection:

https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Flight#Hover

But you can provide your own *real* knockback protection without Hover.  So Combat Jumping seems to be the better choice.

As for Fly, legend has it that Super Jump has a faster movement rate than Fly.  Based on my personal experience with being a flier in a group of super jumpers, I can vouch for the veracity of the legend.

I think a reasonable compromise would be to get Fly and Combat Jumping.  Fly/Super Jump is usually only used between missions so I would think that it doesn't make a real difference.  But Fly gives you maneuverability inside of those caves with multiple levels.

@Super Whatsit

Superbase passcode (Excelsior) is "passcode-6475"

It's all a Nemesis plot.  But not everything is a Nemesis plot!

I saw that you were a little short of the range defense soft-cap so I moved some slots around to see if I get you the rest of the way.  If you keep yourself out of melee range then you should be a bit safer.  I also tried to add some recharge to Link Minds so there is less of a gap.

Also, recovery rate is usually not worth the IOs/slots for /Psi Dominators due to having Domination and Drain Psyche which causes diminishing returns for any % based recovery slotting.

I'll tell you what, I hadn't even notice where her ranged defense was at, I was a lot more focused on recharge and getting Domination cooking.  I'll eye this up when I get home.

Well, this is great. I've been really trying to get a Mind/Psi to work. This is good, thanks!

I do have a question. What the heck does Fear do? I haven't really had a good chance to test it. Is it a lockdown, rendering the target completely unable to act, like a Hold? Or does it allow for some action?

Posted

Fear makes the enemy stand in place, cowering.  They won't act/attack unless they've been attacked, in which case they can get off one return attack every few seconds.

I used to think all versions of Fear had a ToHit debuff, but I think just the Dark ones do.

Got a Dark/Dark/Soul Dominator that I truly like... I thought I'd be playing with a Mind/Psy Dom aswell, since that seemes cool.  Here below I've mashed a build that I may be using whenever I get on this "project". The main goal is to get Perma-Hasten, so Dom also is perma.
