Admiral Sutter Task Force is awesome

On a lark today I joined a Admiral Sutter Task Force group.

It was so much fun even with the chaos, because most of us did not know what we doing.

Two of the AV fights were creative. Especially, the last one where you had to move because the AV was calling air strikes around himself. No dog piling the AV like most fights.

The game needs more creative TFs like this one. I encourage folks to try it out.

Yeah Sutter is a good one.  First time I did it since live was with 5 MM's and a leader who was all 'GO GO GO!'  I had absolutely no idea what was going on.  I just made sure I got to the doors first.

The last mission/maps in the Operative Renault and Silver Mantis SF's I always find fun too.

The dont "stand in bad" mechanics of this SF, and the Apex TF for instance, are nice wake up calls for the standard stand in one spot and beat on bag of HPs archvillian routine we saw in most of the early TF/SFs in the game.

Having to pay attention and remain mobile while keeping your attack chain or routine active is a fun little mini game for the final fights.

So I enjoy these as well.

While true its important they give us a LOT MORE TIME to get out becuase of how bad COH combat is with allowing us to move and still fight.

playing titan weapon on apex is always fun when your momentum is dropped and you need to activate that first swing to get it back and you know you are looking at a 3 sec+ cast time... just hoping the blue bad doesn't drop on you mid activation.

Yes, I came back to CoH after playing Guild Wars 2 for years.  I still keep trying to move while attacking and trying to dodge.  It is going to be hard getting used to being frozen in place so much.

I realize this is an ancient thread but when my group did this task force, it was very fun up until the last battle. The air strikes were not bad, you just had to pay a little attention. But the BBG started teleporting constantly after we got him down to half-way or so. And it's a multilevel outside map so our melee guys were very frustrated. And it's not like he teleported once and healed a little, he started teleporting after just a few hits for the rest of the mission. After spending as much time fighting him as we did getting through the entirety of the rest of the TF we just quit because we couldn't get him to stand still (there were only 6 of us, so maybe a little under powered, but still.) Is that normal behavior? Is he supposed to pop around with everyone running after him?

Yeah, he does that, unfortunately.

I have been in some failed Adm. Sutter TFs before because the lead was 40+ and wanted to run +4x8.   Then you get some 20s on the team sidekicked up and facing +5/+6 AVs and they can barely scratch them.  Even just the massive load of Sky Raiders to defeat in some of these missions, along with War Walkers, can take a VERY long time on a weak team.

It can be done with the right team of course, but I wouldn't recommend rolling the dice with a PuG for this above +2 unless everyone is at least 40+.

You want some holds on the team.  Ice Blast, Controller, Dominator, Fortunata, whatever, and stack them immediately and repeatedly on Primal Col. Duray.  That will keep him from repeatedly teleporting all over.

Im doing a medical trial shortly. About time I use all that free time to do a +4 KM Sutter and really stress myself out.
