Fire is a very offensive Controller set, but doesn't help much defensively compared to others. It benefits from a secondary that is strong defensively, and IMO the top two defensive sets are Dark Affinity and Time. DA is stronger but also more tricky to get all its debuffs out, while Time is more consistent. So, it's definitely an excellent pairing.

To Coyote's point, Dark has actual debuffs that can make a significant impact in your play experience that Time Manipulation lacks, however Time will be a bit easier to deal with building your Defense, and has several tools focused to that idea of slowing/stopping the enemy whereas Dark is more about redirecting and causing decay.


I had my own Fire/Time/Fire on Retail that I enjoyed and spent the (much more difficult back then) effort to get it to T4 Incarnate abilities. "Unkillable" squadron of Fire Imps is pretty amusing.

Anything/time is nice if you want to be tanky. I made this for my Fire/Time, i'm sure it's not the best but at least it's a build :P

If someone has a build I can take a look at also that would be awesome! 

I used to farm on generic IO/SOs on live though only at 8x1....it was slow but relatively safe
