I got one to lvl 8, REALLY don't like that the support chain skills don't start with me. I have to have an ally of some sort, pet or otherwise in order to heal of buff myself. Going to make it very hard to solo.

Also this support set is HEAVILY gimped with MM teams. Even with static stacks, you will have a hard time actually supporting your team mates if the pets are absorbing all of it.
Do like the end drain mechanics of it though. would be nice if the powers at least had some minor damage attached. Galvanic Sentinel is cool so far.

I've been working on Electric/Nature and I'm a bit spoiled by it.

Chin up, man.  The Galvanic Sentinel can accept the chain powers, so when solo, you can bounce stuff off your Gal (it's what I was doing today).

And as for your point about MMs, I seem to recall on the Beta threads, they said if you targeted a pet with the initial Chain, the bounces would give preference to pets, and ditto for players.  So you've got some control over it if that holds up.

All in all, not as doomy as you fear.

I recommend making a macro to quickly target your Sentinel so you can heal/buff.

I do consider this set strongest on a Mastermind and then a Controller tho, because they have pets that are more reliable than Sentinel.

I have one, up in the low 40s at this point, however I can't comment on the solo potential since I made the character NOT to solo, and have had friends help me with testing it group potential.

I have some gripes, like the fact that it's almost impossible to chain stuff back to me unless I'm far closer to combat than I want to be when I target my friends. I hadn't planned on taking the sentinel, but I ended up doing so just so I could hit myself with my powers without running into enemy AOE range. Also the fact that no one ever stands close enough together for all of them to get hit (I suppose this is my fault for grouping with a friend who's global name includes the word 'spazz').

But even without good slotting, the buffs seem useful, and they are loving getting electrocuted back to full endurance. I'm having fun with it so far, and I look forward to seeing how it performs at 50 in some harder trails or incarnate stuff.

Tex, I can't recall.  I know I can use "/target_name galvanic sentinel" to pick up Gal. but that has the tiny wrinkle that she has to be in my field of view.  Any chance you know a command that will force it to pick up my pet, regardless of whether it's on screen or not?

TIA either way  🙂

EDIT: a perusal of ParagonWiki revealed the pet_select command, which works like a charm whether the pet is on-screen or not.  🙂

Could you post the macro text?  I'm really not good at macros...

Want more from Praetoria? Check out my level 40+ Praetoria missions in AE! I've got 3 complete arcs so far.
Praetorians can get to AE in Pocket D by going through Studio 55.

In its basic form, you'd do something like

/macro GS pet_select 0

That would put a grey macro button on your tray, named "GS", and pressing said button would execute that command.  The 0 parameter gets the first pet in your pet windows; if you have multiple pets, this part might need some refinement (like, if you've also got Lore pets or something like that).

you can also use pet names with the   /pet_select_name pet_name command, that way you don't have to worry if you have multiple pets changing orders

What this team needs is more Defenders

I just hit 50 with my elec/elec corruptor last night.

a) Teamed with a single melee character worked really well.  Supported the fire tanker and we tended to tear thru the opposition.

b) When on an ITF with three others, Romulus respawning did not stun us.  I think a couple Faraday cages could do the same.

c) Less useful on teams that scatter, but that's probably similar for most support.

d) Some AVs got drained of all their end, some not so much.  The -regen seemed to help a lot.  Amp plus the G-sentinel helped a lot with that.  Sometimes it helped slow their attacks.

Overall, I enjoyed the character and will continue to develop them.  I do need to figure out a better slotting, and do a respec, but for now will play as is.

I have a sample build that I'm refining as well. Need to decide where to take it exactly. Like the buff potential, but would still really like chains to start with me then arc out. Can easily get Smash / lethal defense into the 30's with energy not far behind. Will have to start making sacrifices to get further. Still adjusting.

Only level 15 at the moment and gaining slowly solo.

This is an Elec/Elec Corrupter support type build I threw together,  Tell me what you think or what I can do better.

I am working up a corrupter Elec/Elec also.  I am planning on using the new endmod sets for elec blast because it mixes accuracy/damage/endmod.  using this set will increase how much end is taken from target and then given back to you.   This is the hope.

I will stick with performance shifters for the electric affinity.

In my opinion, as elec affinity, you should be in melee _at all times_. Your _team_ anti-mez + huge dam resist bubble is centered around you. If you are sitting way out worried about getting chains effects, you are certainly doing your team (and self really) a disservice. Being in melee means you almost always get hit by your chains, everyone loves you because of your anti-mez prot + resist all the things, lots of chain love, and yet more chain love.

Slotting for defense at range just means that hey, you are generally less useful to the team as a whole. In fact, unless you primarily solo, I would not at all recommend using the pet. It is a waste of a power pick on any team-centric build. If you have pets available at low level, like dark control, it is extra extra extra useless.

I have started playing my Elec/Elec Corrupter pretty much exclusively lately as I finally crossed 40 and started the toon on its glorious ride to fiddy.  Until he got to 30 he was pretty gimped and not really fun at all to play.  I was driving the struggle bus.

The change from SOs to IOs really brought his skill set out to a point and he's actually very fun to play now.  A not too pricey investment in Endurance Modification and some not-over-the-top Ranged Damage IOs can be the catalyst for a very fun character you'll enjoy playing well past the 50 mark.

He can solo, thanks to the build's galvanic and voltanic pets, but this alt seems built for team play and can be a real game changer in a number of ways.

As you've all said, the chain buffs (while irritating sounding) quickly become a team favorite against all baddies, but especially those that are hard on team endurance.  And while the toon's not designed to be a primary healer (IMHO), it can do the job for most teams.  The "meat and potatoes" is the end and dam buffs you can drop on your team regularly.  The other unsung star of the E/E show is the Faraday Cage.  Initially, most squishy teammates don't realize that when you drop the Faraday Cage for them in the middle of a battle it dramatically ups their survivability.   It generally takes a few rezs (also a nice benny with this alt) before they all realize that their best option is to stay under the curtain of zappage if they want to survive a up-close contest with a group intent at curb stomping them.

One of the most surprising things I've found is how flexible the build is once it gets its legs underneath it.  You need to have patience and invest, but the payoff is there.

You can play it as a conventional Blaster with a lot of success.   The build has a number of great long-range attacks that can help you avoid traditional Blaster face plants if you want to play as a ranged God of Lighting.  And, like a Blaster, several of those attacks hit like a truck.  Zapp is very solid and after floating it some slots and IO love, can one-shot many single targets.  It takes a bit of time to load, and can be interrupted, but the results are undeniable.  Thunderous Blast is a personal favorite.  Properly slotted, TB can turn the tide of battle very quickly.  It hits and drops groups with power that's on par with a Incarnate Judgement ability.  With a modest investment in Hasten, you can typically have it available inside of a minute.

You can, as Hew has pointed out, play this toon as a front-line melee support character with equal success.  In addition to all the buffs EA provides, the mastery of the endurance drain attack is a huge advantage against AVs and nasty groups like KoA, Carnies, and Malta.  With a Faraday Cage in place, attacks from your GS and VS are vicious, and melee is made even better if you invest well in Shock.  Again, with some IOs in place, the E/E can make a Brute's/Tank's job much easier.

The key is learning to recognize what you team needs from you and adapting your play style.  Having played a bunch of Blasters. I can honestly say the E/E is the much discussed "Blastroller" of lore. 🙂  Real DPS power and the ability to provide meaningful support

Not gonna lie, though.  The End management early on with this alt is a major PITA.  The build will try your end engagement skills every time you take it out of the stable.  There was a point around level 21 when I was ready to delete this toon.  I just ran a Yin TF at 22, and it was paaaaaaainful. You need to invest early on IOs for this build to blossom.
