Here's the first real Invuln tanker I made. Haven't had any problems with him so far.

One stack of ATO gives capped resists to S/L, 81.27% F/C, 81.12% E/N, and Toxic at 58.02% with Psi sitting at 50.7%. With only 4 foes in range of Invincibility, I hit soft capped Defenses to all but Psi.

Hi there.  I looked through most of the posts and didn't see a build for Spines/Inv Brute.  I'm looking for a team oriented build that can also solo when need be. I tried to build my own build on Mids, but it seems to complicated for me.  Thanks in advance.

If you want to be godlike, pick anything.

If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

Posted (edited)

I've decided it's time for me to take a Tanker all the way (for the first time, and I've played since launch day).

I want to try SD/EM. I looked at the Captain Starburst build, but I'd really like to take Teleport for concept reasons (and, maybe because I've got a masochistic streak, I just love teleport). What would you drop from a Captain Starburst type build to make room for Teleport, and how big would the performance hit be to do so?

Thanks!

Hi there.  I looked through most of the posts and didn't see a build for Spines/Inv Brute.  I'm looking for a team oriented build that can also solo when need be. I tried to build my own build on Mids, but it seems to complicated for me.  Thanks in advance.

Sorry I am late to the party - I have had a busy week in the real world as my alter ego  :-)  Here is another take on this build - basically I worked it off of my Energystar build which is EM/Inv - and it is more than capable enough to do whatever you need.

I like to cover all my bases - which is why I sell out to cover toxic/psionic on Invul and balance every category other than S/L around 50-60 res for brutes.

On the defense side I always make sure Melee Defense is 45+ and that will cover any engagement you might encounter in combination with Invincibility once it starts to saturate.

I typically run Assault for my hybrid slot on brutes - but if you wanted to be more tankerish you could always go Melee core and then 100% you are unkillable unless you fall asleep with this build.  lol

I also like to run the flight pool because I like to fly - but you could swap that out if you need to - however Hover is especially useful since the travel update - especially situationally when you need a boost in defense.

I also like to run Energy Mastery for physical perfection for an extra boost to recovery and regen.

Hope this helps - please feel free to message me any time if you need any more tips or build help - I am always glad to lend a hand.

My issue with making a shield/energy melee tanker is knowing you can do the same thing on an Energy/Bio Stalker in a fraction of the time.

Thanks for D-Sync Enhancements! Just wish things like Resist/End, Heal/End and Damage/Mez had a third stat that made them more viable. Suggestions - add Recharge to Ribosomes, Range to Golgis, and Slows to Peroxisomes. These changes would allow for an endurance cost/range, recharge/endurance, and slow/mez or slow/damage enhancements.

Or Energy Energy Stalker - this is true, but EM is the perfect synergy for stalkers.  This doesn't mean you shouldn't sample the menu on other ATs.

I have EM on every melee AT with Shield, Energy, Ninjitsu, and Invul.  I love them all.

Do you have a Bio/Rad build for any chance?

100 percent transparent here - I don't really like Bio - the way it looks or plays.  It just doesn't have a feel that I tend to gravitate towards in this game.  However I think with a little tweaking and some further - Bio Related expert advice, this build will get you close to where you need to be.

Hey! I'm pretty new to Homecoming, but have been using some of your builds. Was wondering if you had a Fire/Stone build?

I do not, but could make one fairly easily.  I will take a look when i get home from work.  Basically we will combine Turbo Infinitum's or Lodestarr's Primary with Halenrock's secondary.  Should be pretty clean to do.

Try this out - I would have liked to have gotten more psi resistance in this, but I squeezed as much as I could out of this build and I believe covered the bases fairly well.

1. Melee Defense over 45%

2. S/L En/Neg and Fire is at 90% Res

3. This should have a very strong attack - lots of variety and high Damage.

4. Healing Flames recharges in ~ 14 Seconds with hasten - Hasten is not perma though - but still should be good.

5 Consume will cover any end issues that may arise.

6. You can swap out fly - just make sure whatever you swap in cover the Knockback enh that are in both Hover and Evasive.

Hope this helps and also enjoy!

Thank you! For point 6 is there a set that does knockback resist for super jump? Still trying to figure out the auction house and buying up the set enhancements. I played this game on live but was 14....so i dont think i got a hero above lvl30 without starting an alt.

I believe Blessing of the Zephyr works in all of them - anyone please correct that if i am wrong.

Blessing is the one in hover and evasive.

There were 3 KB IOs in my build - But you should be ok with just 2 if you only got Super Jump.

Basically you can swap things around in this build even some of the epic pool attacks if you wanted more stone melee - just make note of the current set bonus and try to duplicate that to whatever you are swapping.  Make it your own however you see fit and if you need any help I usually respond fairly quick now that i am back in the game - always happy to help.

Should be good to go - on paper this build looks really fun and durable.

Hey I took that build from 1 to 30 today! Felt great! Even not fully kitted out it did tons of damage and could stay pretty well....except to vahz. Really need that toxic defense.

Thank yoy for your help!

You ever just look at a theme and keep looking - and then realize ... Well shoot... This just doesn't fit.  And then you play it and then it really starts irking your nerves - that this theme (character theme) just.... Isn't.... Right.

That happened to me yesterday and the wild hair was on miracle grow at that point.

So i went OCD and changed Paladin Infinitum from SR/Claws to Shield/Broadsword - because who in the blue hell has ever seen a holy knight with claws instead of a sword and no shield.  Just didn't fit in my OCD anymore.

Also Alpha Infinitum was Elec/Dual Blades - the counterpart to Omega Infinitum only the physical weapon just didn't fit the dynamic - so it is now a Elec/Psi Melee tanker - because Light side spiritual - telekinesis and telekinetic weapons matches up better as a counterpart to Omega Infinitum's Dark/Dark netherworld vibe.

So then i was left with the dilemma of needed a new SR based Infinitum - because i really like SR - just not how it was paired with claws - so I started looking at Quantum Infinitum - the 4th Shield Infinitum - what if I renamed Quantum and kept him but made a SR/EM Quantum Infinitum - and I did both.  lol. Seriously though this SR/EM is going to be slick - tons of recharge - Superior positional defenses - and lots of damage.  I will probably complete it first because it looks awesome on paper and combines two of my favorite elements. SR and EM.

While i was looking at SR - I also made a new DB/SR scrapper based on Captain Jack Sparrow - Named Sparrowpoint (don't ask me where that came from) - but its really cool and fun so i did that too.

Lastly i made a Dual Blades/Ninjitsu Scrapper - full on Ninja based on Snake Eyes from GiJoe - Omega Shinobi - because why not.  lol

Space Marshall Givens.  I am eyeballing because something isn't right with its theme also, but i was tired so he was spared for tonight.   lol

I will upload all this later with notes - and create a misc build section including builds i have helped people with and these builds that perished tonight in case people liked them.

Absolute Infinitum - Tanker (Ice Armor - Ice Melee).mxd ---- Ice Ice Baby - Very solid survivable Tanker build - that can debuff, slow and control enemies as well.  Very fun indeed!

Ice Armor/Ice Melee

If you see anything not listed just reply and I will post and updated version of what you are looking for.

Thanks for Looking!

Heyo, Infinitum -

I just started getting into tankers (I'm normally a Troller/Fender player), and I like the idea of bringing some of that energy with me and so Ice/Ice seems like a helluva way to do it. I'm curious as to why your build doesn't take the Ice T9, Hibernate, and/or taunt. I'm new to the AT, so I'm probably missing something obvious.

Appreciate the build, is that the most updated on you have, too?
