Sav/Inv - Feeback request please!

Hi team - picking up CoH again after like 8 years of being away (I was Granite Agent on the old forums).  I loved @Frosticuswrite up on Savage Melee for stalkers, and I liked @Croax's /Inv builds.  I've been trying to glom them together while keeping (a) Frosticus' frankenslotting for procs in several key Sav powers, and (b) what I think is the invuln goal of Resistance to S/L >75% and Def to S/L:/F/C/E/N at 45%+.  But my mids-fu is pretty rusty. I'm feeling pretty lost.

Feels like a lot of extra slots and not terribly helpful powers (Tough?  is it really neeed on invlun?  I just grabbed it for the free slot).  Also can't figure up how to slot up the PPP AOE like frosticus did.

I would really be grateful for some feeback and tuning.  Thanks in advance!

Your build is incomplete.
Level 22 has 3 slots in it and no power pick.
Also, SuperSpeed is taken illegally too early.

I might be inclined to something more like this:

Thanks @Hyperstrike!  Yes indeed, my Mids-Fu is pretty poor - I think the new Mids Reborn has features I still need to learn.  It's been a long hiatus.  I kind of hit the wall on the build after like an hour.

Couple questions:

1) Worth getting rid of Shred?  It's not in Frosticus' build at all for Savage ... could swap it for Maneuvers with a free slot to place a Kismet +acc?  Worth it?  Or did you keep it for Flashback stuff?

2) Why the Force Feedback proc in Kick?  Kick doesn't seem like it would get used?

3) Would it be worth taking 2 slots out of the PPP hold to put 1 more proc each into Hemmorhage and Savage Leap?  Frosticus seemed to say they work well with procs?  I didn't think having a hold was worth it?  Maybe I'm wrong.  It's been forever since I played.  He loaded Hemm and Leap up with 4 procs each I think, all dmg procs in Hemm and 3 dmg and 1 -RES in Leap.  He also put 3 dmg procs and chance for Hide in Assassin's Strike.

4) Maybe worth sneaking Shadow Meld in for an oh-crap +def button?

I like that you built for some Psionic Resitance, bascially got perma-hasten, that's cool.   Thanks, boss.

1: Not sure.  Don't play Savage Melee a lot.  So I only have a basic handle on how it interacts in an attack chain.
2: Because, unlike Boxing, it's a useful proc to have.  And is MARGINALLY better than leaving it empty (eake out maximum utility from EVERYTHING, even if you have no plans to ever use it).
3: The Proc builds are something I don't explore much.  I tend towards Tank builds.  Maximal toughness.  Not SO needed on a "teams only" build.  I actually backed this one down from Incarnate Softcapped.  As for Soul Storm?  I have a Hami-O'ed one on my DB/WP which is just AWESOME.  Here it's mostly a throw-away.  But KEEP MOONBEAM!  It's one of the best snipes in the game.
4: Honestly.  If you're playing on a team with this build, you have exactly NO need of a Defensive "oh crap" button.  If you're still worried, spring for Barrier when you open up Destiny.  I mean, you're not even taking Placate!

Yeah.  All you need to do to lock in Perma-Hasten is use IO Boosters (just going +1 will give you Perma, going higher gives you up to about a second of breathing space vs slows).

If you want just a scotch more defense, you still have room for some significant gains there too.  +5 will bump your Defenses about 2%.

OH THANK YOU FORUM COOKIES!  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
(My cablemodem barfed right in the middle of the Submit.  The forums saved the reply so I didn't have to retype from scratch.)

I did try to keep Frosticus Damage Proc how he did it but could not manage to keep all the attacks how they were. Also i like to have a travelpower. I did not know which power you would push further away to get a travel power so i just selected it as one of the last powers. I hope it is something that goes into the direction you wanted. I want to state again, that i do not care about the psi whole as everyone is very afraid of that. i did find out that it is not such big of an issue.

I just made one of these.  I got my resists pretty meaty and my defenses to elemental and melee capped.  The only hole I have is the psi hole which is what it is.  I'll give you a quick rundown of what I did with mine.

I took every power in Invuln except for the first auto resist physical damage.  You'll be about capped already without it so no need for it.  All of my resist power and tough I slotted to 4 with Unbreakable guards for the melee defense bonus.  I have Unstoppable and just slotted the two defense uniques into that one.  Dull Pain I slotted a 6 set of preventative medicine.  Then on hide I 3 slotted with reactive defenses with the unique.  I 2 slotted the two defense powers in invuln with gamblers defense and def/rech IOs.  Then I slotted weave with 3 Gamblers.

I ended up going with the Force of Will pool and took Unleash Potential and slotted 4 Shield Walls with the unique and a gambler +recharge.  I also went with Body Mastery as my epic pool for Focused Accuracy (6 slotted Gaussians) and Physical Perfection.

As for my Savage attacks I skipped the t1 and placate, everything else I 6 slotted but for AS which has a set of 5 of the stalkers set with the chance for hide.  The other stalker ATO set of 6 I put in the first attack.  Then with the 3 pbaoe powers I put in one set of 6 of Superior Avalanche, Armageddon and Obliteration.  Then I put in a 6 set of Hecatomb into Hemorrhage and lastly BU I 2 slotted.

I didn't outrageously proc my attacks as I don't tend to do that most times anyways since I typically like to aim for a sets 5th bonus with the proc from that set and maybe add another proc with my 6th slot or the meaty 6th bonus of usually the purple sets.

1 Personally I like shred. I have it slotted with the Achiles' Heel -res and the Fury of the gladiator -res. As lethal is resisted a lot I feel like something is needed to counter it a bit.

2 I think people use it when levelling up as a filler if you have an incomplete attack chain. It can also be used if you are hit with slows, and things are taking a while to recharge, as a filler with a possibility of mitigating the slow somewhat if the proc goes off.

3 I think slotting up haemorrhage is a good thing, but I don't know how the hold was slotted out, so it depends what bonuses you'd be losing by doing it as to whether it is worth it.

Hey one more silly question.  Where / how do you get the Stalker's Guile and Assassin's Mark IOs ?  Can't seem to find them in the auction house.

This page https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Archetype_Enhancements seems to say you have to buy them with merits (and then upgrade them with enhancement catalysts).  Can't tell if it's out of date or if there's another way to get them.   Thanks.

They can be found in enhancements / attuned enhancements / stalker ATO sets.

You can only enhance them, or use the superior versions, once you are level 50.

FYI this build is a blast to play at 50 on speed radio missions, TFs, BAFs, ITFs, etc.  So addicting to keep Feral Charging stuff, AS, and then fire off a 5-stack Flurry for whatever's still standing.

It exemps down pretty well even unajusted, though I'll probably need to make a 2nd build for <35 exemping for lower level TFs.  Anyway, really enjoying it.

I read somewhere that Inv scrappers can somehow slot Gaussian Build-up into the defense shield (Invincibility?) that scales with mobs around you, and have it fire based on number of mobs?  I assume this doesn't work on stalkers due to how the power was changed?

I'm not quite 50 yet, but I would guess not,  It would be great if someone can confirm.  I'm planning on slotting 3 Membrane HOs in Reinforced when I get high enough.  Looking forward to see how that works.

Yeah, that won't work on the stalker version. You could slot it in Reinforced, but it would only have the normal once per 10 second chance to go off. Much better to slot it in your build up power, with the chance to refresh build up from the AT set you'll get double build ups a lot.

Reinforced replaces Invincibility for Stalkers, which, as you noted does not have the scaling with mobs around you / doesn't roll hit checks around you.  You can still slot Gaussian's in Reinforced, but I wouldn't because it won't scale with targets like it does for Scrappers, Brutes and Tanks.  You definitely want to put Gaussian's in BU, especially since the ATO makes BU come back so often.

@LockpickYes, slotting 2-3 Hamis (+ the obligatory Gamblers) is great in Reinforced as long as you don't need the power for a specific set bonus.  I ran it with LotG + 2 Cytos for a while, but recently swapped to LotG + 4 from Shield Wall for the 4.5% E/N res.  The loss from the +ToHit isn't ideal, especially for my snipe bonus, but with BU having so much uptime, it doesn't really matter much.
