I know blaster and defender play very differently.  But still I am debating whether to level up Water/TA blaster or a Dark/Water defender.

 

Can someone give me some insights and advice?

Dark/water could lend itself to great backstories....and dark/ is phenomenal.

 

Blasters tend to be rampaging killing machines so lots of fun if youre careful in the early levels to avoid soul crushing defeat.

I always make support characters.  So I have never a blaster at all because I keep thinking being a support character is more useful in a team and particularly in end game. 

 

Can I make a Water/TA useful in team settings?

Being able to one-shot most of a spawn every 35 seconds is pretty useful (Tidal fuelled Geyser with Upshot and the build up proc). Tac Arrow also comes with a nice chunk of aoe control to go with your other 3 aoes for the rest of the time.

 

There are some adjustments due for EMP arrow, its recharge is very quick compared to controllers. As is its among the best AoE controls going. So be aware of that. 

 

Im in agreement with the "why not both". Dark/Water will be excellent too.
