so i would like to work on a scrapper i have mostly played tankers and brutes at the moment i have a stone/rad brute / titan/bio brute / fire/ss tanker / ice/spines tanker and rad/fire brute farmer. i play solo a lot and once i hit 50 i would like to be able to solo at at least +2 x8. i don't want a repeat of power sets so no primaries or secondary power sets that i currently run on other characters. cost is no problem i have plenty of inf to build anything. thanks ahead of time for the recommendations.

War Mace or Dark Melee for primary, and Shield Defense for secondary.  High end build will solo anything basically, but that's true for most scrapper builds.  Shield Defense is a little heavy on endurance so slot end management procs and pick up some P2W buffs & serums until your build is slotted well.

War Mace/Energy Aura -  so that you can be strong and pretty

Dark Melee/Shield - has become a classic combo that synergizes well

Both have good overall damage, healing, good defenses, a base of resistances to work with, endurance management tools, and taunt auras.  I've found both solid.

Looks like you've yet to do a Claws character. I'm currently trying my first and it is great, great fun.

Claws/WP or Claws/SR or Claws/EnAura? I'm doing Claws/Nin, it is fun as well, lets you be an almost stalker, and actually might be even stronger solo as you'll be able to slip into hide between packs consistently for the crit alpha.

I know you said you didn't want to replay a set you've already used, but I recently finished my Claws/Rad Scrapper and he is an absolute monster both solo and on teams.

Has a bit of def from sets, good all-around res from Rad, great regeneration/end recovery, and the extra AoEs from Rad help support Claw's already strong Spin attack. Slapped on Soul Mastery for Moonbeam and Shadow Meld (for that emergency def and another lotg slot) and he is an efficient killing (arresting?) machine!

Definitely give Claws a try if you haven't played it before. It's not very flashy, but it's very efficient.

some real good suggestions here and yes i did double up on Fire Aura but the brute is a farmer and the tank is not he is for all content.

a lot of people seem to be pushing claws how is the damage out put i always thought claws was lacking in damage out put but i have never played it. is claws something that you can take out an AV with does it do enough DPS?

From the various 'real world scenario testing' threads (going through missions with a variety of enemies to test both single and area damage) claw is neck and neck for the highest damage primary for scrappers. It animates so fast and recharges so fast, you can cycle your best attacks and put out huge numbers, which also means you can potentially skip evicerate as you won't even have time to use it and its low damage for the animation time. Single Target chain with proper recharge is Follow Up->Focus->Slash->Repeat. Follow Up just keeps stacking +damage, Focus is your top damage attack. Area is Spin->Shockwave->Follow Up->Repeat. Also gives you flexibility in that you don't need to grab range attacks for your epic pool, as Focus and Shockwave are ranged attacks and always up.

Electric/Shield, with its two slambo attacks, is another highly enjoyable classic combo.  You will want all of the endurance procs, though.
