Fast Snipes were changed a long time ago, and no amount of ToHit will lock you into it.  Fast Snipes only occur if either you are in combat (attack or have been attacked in the last 8 seconds) or if the snipe has the Experienced Marksman Fast Snipe enhancement slotted.

 

What the ToHit will do though is increase the damage of the fast snipe.  The damage scales up with more ToHit, with +22% providing the highest bonus, though the slower snipe will always do more damage (something like 4.5x modifier for slow vs up to ~2.9x or so for fast).

 

Side note, Assault Rifle's snipe animation is complete ass.  The fast snipe for Sniper Rifle is just as slow as the slow snipe.  I'd skip it myself if it wasn't for the fact thar Blaster snipes also add a 50% range boost after landing one.

Just to add to that it's pretty easy to get high accuracy bonus with target drone. Even with only one to-hit buff you can get at least a 20% bonus on accuracy. In fact it might even be overkill if you are also getting an accuracy bonus from the AR set. You should of course take the power anyway because you are still getting the damage bonus from targeting drone as well.

@Chelsea Rorec So I want to make my first blaster, and I really want to try your build. I have a couple questions.

 

1. How come no M30 grenade? Is it not useful?

2. Is the lack of purples, outside the AT specific ones, because it's more budget friendly? Or is it the 6 slot defense bonuses?

 

Anyways, thanks for posting it! Looking forward to giving my first blaster a try!

1: It is so little damage and when compared to Full auto and Trip Mine/LRM it wasn't worth the power pick.

2: Both but mainly for the Defence. That build also has a lot of damage bounses added to it that it depends on, so changing the sets would completely change the damage output/defence and Acc
