Sovera
I've pretty much reached the end of things to test outside of maybe trying Katana (I'd love to try Claws as well, but...). The 'best', in my opinion, remains the first option: Rad Melee. Good AoE with IG really pushing the envelope as low as Posi 1, with mediocre ST that can be faked as higher by cheating with -res procs in IG. Of this both the Contaminated Strike and the Devastating Blow are valid builds. Devastating helps with the mediocre ST but Contaminated is much more fluid and its rotation allows to heal at some nutty speeds, but not even the -res procs disguise the damage loss despite the math done somewhere in this thread. Which just goes to show why I always prefer to test instead of mathing it out. Sovera
DB/Stone. Safe to say it's not a set that shines on Brute. Four (??) minutes to down a pylon despite having -res procs. Without_Pause
I took about 4 passes before I finalized my Claws/ea Scrapper and this is pass one for a Ice/stone Brute. I converted this over from Croax's Stalker version. I think the debate here is how much recharge do I want to give up for more S/L resist. I can't say skipping Granite was intended, but it just fell that way. 4 ST attacks means that's set and 3 AoEs with a damage aura means things will die quickly enough. Power picks are actually quite close to what I use for leveling. I used Fists to start with Kick as added filler. Currently at 37, so I plan on upgrading the build and taking Ice Sword this time. I'll toss in whatever until I hit 50 and can swap in the purples. It should ding 50 sometime 4/2022. Update: Pass #2. It helps to have the right version of Mid's. A couple of slots changed as well. Update: Pass number 4. I bumped the def F/C numbers to get them in the 40 range. The sacrifice was essentially 10% recharge. Hobbes
Theory crafted for my next Brute. More Defense, less Resistance than the other builds in this thread. Proc'd up Devastating Blow and Mud Pots. Could be an okayish Fire Farmer if it wanted to at 44% Fire Def and 82% Fire Res. Clear time would be less than a /Fire, but still good. Also added taunt and would presumably be running Ageless for the Debuff resistance anyway. I've got a Savage/Stone that is really similar, and it tanks very well. Savage melee I'm hoping gets a tweak or two soon. Spoiler This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.1.2.5https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! Sovera
Tried the KM/Stone and it was the usual. Yin in 55 minutes and fighting through molasses. Burst is otherwise a good AoE but the 2.9 animation to hit mid two digits is not doing any favors to an already ailing set. Also tried the Spines/Stone, but if the gimmick of slows was the intention it turned out to be a dud. The slows are obviously bugged and do nothing, not even a slight movement delay. Things like Rain of Fire, Tar Patch, not to name everyone, makes the enemies move noticeably slower, but the 40% from Mud pots + the 16% from Quills + another 16% from Spine Burst did zilch. This looks like a bug and I assume the recharge is not working either but no idea if so or not. The damage was... actually quite alright. Did Yin in 49 minutes which is not super super great (Spine Burst sucks very very badly though). The T1 and T2 was enough and Ripper when both were on CD or on a heavy AoE situation. Brimstone should help the weak ST damage but it will never compete since no set can use its T1 and T2 and actually do good damage. But, with two auras at the same time it did not feel particularly slow (T1 and T2 was enough to kill +1 minions and that's all I can really ask for). I'll drop the build over the test server tomorrow for both a Trapdoor and pylon test. Erratic1
Due to a combination of lack of faithfulness to CoH (friend of mine drags me into whatever new thing he is playing) and altitis, I only got my Elec/Stone Brute to 50 this past week. She is still using basic IOs, though I have been storing up merits/influence for her transition to set IOs (she has a very few slotted where I could slide some in). I have hope the investment will prove worthwhile because she handles well as is. urukai
I tried different /stoneArmor builds to see which primary would be best with StoneArmor. it was mostly on scrapper but the diff is not huge so I can post it here: - Katana/StoneArmor: Very safe, good ST, average AOE, quick and beautiful animations, could have a good bump in damage with full -20res proc's in every attacks. good balance attack/def. - Dual Blades/StoneArmor: Very high damage ! the higher level you get and the more -GlobalRecharge, the more you do damage by far, only problem is if you optimize your damage (which you should) you get 0 controls and it's a big problem when facing difficult fights, and some endurance problems too but it can be fixed easely. If you want damage this is the one for sure. On brute for the taunts if you hate runners, otherwise on scrapper for more damage. - WarMace/StoneArmor: great ST, great AOE, insane controls, very safe and good damage, it was the easiest to play and it's nice to see slow animations with good numbers that almost always stuns or knockdowns. I rank Warmace first for the ease of use (no active buffs, nothing), for the good ST/AOE damage, simplicity and insane controls. Katana is a close second for it's incredible balance between precision (-def on each hit), safety (+def buff) and can slot -20res into each attack, making it a good damage build also. Dual blade I love it but sadly no defense and no controls is simply dangerous in the long run, you kill quickly but you are also in danger, making the fight a race of who kills who first.

No real build, I used the classics: - QoL IOs like Kismet+7% hit chance, miracle +recovery, panacea, performance shifter...etc - Stack as much Luck of the Gambler as you can. - Weave, and the 3 leaderships. - Then one Thunderstrike set on top of all that so you don't have to use any +accuracy into your attack that way you can stack 3 damage and 3 recharge on each attacks (till you have a build at higher level) - Then i don't use the first warmace attack, that way all your attacks have a very high chance of controls. It was really that simple leveling with it, good damage, 3 AOE, high controls, simple to use

I made a Stone/Rad brute and you're it is awesome! I used your latest build with a few tweaks for me. Thank you!

Multiple sources of *different* -res procs will stack. Can't cheat with five Achilles. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds. I had misunderstood and believed it was unique to a team. I always have it slotted in an attack that will take it regardless! thanks, sov!

I'm not sure what you mean by 'a team', but to clarify further the debuff is something the mob applies to itself and it does not stack whether you have it in two attacks or you and someone else has it. Once the mob has the debuff (Gladiator, Achilles, etc) it will not stack on itself. But multiple sources of the proc (more attacks with it or other people in the team having it slotted as well) can help with the uptime.
