We actually have "Challenge Zones" in the game right now, but rather than use them people prefer to come to the forums and whine that "Game too easy, bruh!"

  1. New Dark Astoria. There are level 54s on the street and repeatable missions (like scanner/newspaper missions) there as well. I often play there and that zone is deserted.
  2. Monster Island. Just north of My Island. It's covered with GM's. A couple of those should be a challenge for an 8 man team.
  3. The Hive. Like Monster Island, but it's an entire zone.
  4. Incarnate Trials. "But Peregrine, that'd require me to talk to an actual living person. I'm a dedicated soloist, a lone wolf." Yeah, whatever.

You can do it in Kallisti Wharf, but leave the PvP zones alone unless you're coming to PvP.

 

Personally I'd be more in favor of having rotating PvP Incursions in normally non PvP zones, where for say 60 minutes everyone is scaled to a fixed level and heroes have to fight back the invading villains, or vice versa. Perhaps set up a regular occuring event , 60 minutes in say a zone like Boom Town, or Cascade Archipelago, or Port Oakes, Nerva, etc and introduce new PvP Incursion Badges for each of the zones.

With the track record of pvp in this game, with multiple suggestions of what you just said being shot down, I'm going to say thats dead on arrival like my challenge zone idea.

Dunno if it is just me, but Kallisti seems too nice for a challenge zone. Long term pipe dream, but I'd like a incarnate level hazard zone of Hami infested Praetorian Paragon City (Shroud City?) Some day.

Kallisti is probably full of investment bankers. Nothing more ruthless and bloodthirsty than that. 🙂

Oh I know. Realistically most my suggestions like most people's have been dead on arrival, but some have provoked some interesting conversation.

Suggestions aren't entirely Dead on Arrival, but there's an unknown chance of it happening given that development is slow but precise. Who knows, maybe they'll see the idea dn implement a version of it. Issues/Pages take their time, and the game is notorious with its coding.

I hate PvP. I want to play and have fun, not compete with other players over who has the best build or biggest dick. I only enter the PvP zones to grab the explore badges. I have no problem with PvP'ers doing PvP and I understand it is fun for them, but please no suggestions to force PvP in PvE zones.

 

Also, considering how often PvP'ers would stalk me until I was in a fight with a mob to gank me, if all my missions are street sweeps in the now a PvP zone for the next hour, what are the chances of PvP'ers not waiting to gank PvE'ers in mid-battle just getting their missions done?

I levied my counter suggestion to be the opposite of what @The_Warpact proposed as a means to point out the potential vehement reaction that some would have towards either limiting PvP or enforcing a sort of PvP mandate.

 

Well the OP's suggestion has merit, thus why I suggested they use Kallisti Wharf for it, the pit reaction that you had to my counter proposal is how a pvper can feel about the initial post in this thread. Because of that I had to solicit my counter proposal.

 

I for one am what I largely consider a retired pvper, mostly due to limits of my time to play, and lack of steady PvP options in the game so to make PvP zones PvE and make the PvP zone only accessible via an echo at an arena made me cringe as I literally played the game from I4 on due to the friendships I developed pvping in this game.

 

Zone PvP is by it's very nature is a Challenge Zone because your target can think for themselves and counter strategize to attack you as well.
