Ice/Regen - Why would you roll that on a Stalker!?

Recommended Posts

So, I tried this as a spoon combination, but took my sweet time leveling it. Been going through Praetoria, on mostly SO's. Up to 36 now, and starting to really enjoy her... This is odd, as these sets all seem not great on a Stalker, but it makes for a weird, hybrid Stalktroller.

So, keeping with the clickie playstyle that she has, here's my thoughts on an end-game/40 Respec build for her (the ATO's would be upgraded at 50, of course).

Ice is actually pretty legit on a Stalker. Ice Patch is going to give /regen the breathing room it needs. I would dump Placate for Frost and not go so heavy on Health and Stamina.

Top 10 Most Fun 50s.

1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Emma Strange: Ill/dark Controller. 5. Project Next: Ice/stone Brute. 6. Waterpark: Water/temp Blaster. 6. Mighty Matt: Rad/bio Brute. 7. Without Hesitation: Claws/sr Scrapper. 8. Within Reach: Axe/stone Brute. 9. Without Pause: Claws/wp Brute.  10. Chasing Fireworks: Fire/time Controller.

Yeah honestly Ice is one of the best generalist sets for stalker IMO, it keeps all the strengths the other ATs get but does not have to trade it's single target damage for it. Regen is probably not doing you any favors but as Without Pause said, the control is definitely gonna make it work better, at the very least better then it would otherwise. I think it would work better with another secondary but, hey if you want to make regen work on a stalker that's likely your best bet

Kaika DB/INVUN Stalker                                                 Unluck AR/Nin Blaster

Riot Siren Bio/Dark Tank                                                     Ria Greenheart Axe/Sheild scrapper

Ghostflare Changeling Peacebringer                                   Fio Rune  FIre/Rad Stalker

lol

Regeneration on a stalker is very good. Just have to embrace taking hits.

@Errants are you planning on changing Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection later or sticking with them?

@Troo - Not married. Current slotting is SO's with light sprinkles of key IO's... And it sucks end like nothing, wish Stalkers every AT got Sentinel Regen, but that Stalkers at least got a hybridized QR with FH.

Very willing to venture elsewhere, if anything to keep with the theme of Japanese Snow Demon.

Also experimenting with some of the different pools, aside from my defaults of Hasten/CJ/KickToughWeave/Assault.

The only problem I have with this set combo is that Assassin's Strike is an elemental sword.  Hard pass.

See, I wish I had MOAR swords.

*resists urge to rant and rave about how bad sent regen is*

As Troo pointed out @Errants

The body mastery is less than ideal, the usual go to for regen is Shadow Meld as it's easy to chain with MoG and moonbeam is a solid snipe.

Using the slots for nearly anything else will be an up, you should not have end problems with Quick Recovery, in fact I skip even that on most builds, and the regen given by physical perfection is matched by an enhancement or two

Stalkers don't get QR. And I'm open to other things, just trying to play new APP's (Soul is default on most any Stalk/Scrap - Meld is that good).

Death is the best debuff.

I take Body at times because it uses so few slots I can chuck them elsewhere. Also, not all melee builds need ranged attacks. Sayin that, I did take Soul for my Ice/stone Brute as that has helped with my attack chain and more AoE.

Right I forgot thats what they drop, either way id look for something that does more than body. Im away from my pc else id throw out some suggestions but honestly anything or no epic can easily be better. Physical Perfection is just really underwhelming.

Forgot, the other hitch is I'm trying to get her to 50 as a Praetorian native. No Soul PPP as a result... And as she is a concept, wanna keep with the Japanese ghost mythos, so Weapons and Fire APP are no good.

Death is the best debuff.

Well they wont be as good as patron options, Melt Armor, and the -acc of dark attacks can all be recolored pretty freely and are excellent.

Frozen Aura can give you an additional 15% heal with the Call of the Sandman proc slotted.  It is 2 PPM but if you use it on a group that is on top of you it is almost guaranteed to proc. though it won't stack with multiple hits.  If you have good bonuses from other power slotting, you can ignore normal slotting and get a pretty solid hitter with a small heal with the use of the melee AoE procs.
