Clear Speed Leaderboards

For a long time there has been a thread in the Scrapper sub forum that was dedicated to pylon and trapdoor times. However due to that thread being in the Scrapper forums its seen other ATs under represented and I personally had gripes about the formatting and standards for the data. I of course do not blame the creator, far from it, carrying the torch of a legacy standard for so long has certainly been a great service to the community. However I decided to throw together my own to encourage optimization and pushing the limits of CoX builds.

Which you can see here!

Need help filtering what you want in that mess? I made some filters just for you, In the spoiler below is how to access them. If you think of any you think would be useful, reply to this thread and let me know!

Spoiler

So! What do you need to get your name on the board!? Simple, submit a time and build here in the forums and I will update the sheet weekly as I am able. Bonus points if you can provide a video of your run, but I understand that may be impractical for some. Multiple submissions are permitted. I will add a "Thanks!" reaction once it has been added to the sheet. So here are the rules.

Divisions

All entries are broken up into seven divisions in order to help differentiate various rule sets. They are organized loosely in order of descending 'power' with builds that are using nothing outside of their inherent kit being in the division six while builds with all the stops pulled out are in division zero. Below each Division is a spoiler tag with a basic explanation of the purpose and goal of the data category.

  • Division 0: Anything goes except QA test powers.
    Spoiler

Division 0 strives to find the absolute limits when all bets are off in a given challenge. While generally not applicable to normal day to day gameplay, the techniques, builds, and strategies of this category allow for the highest possible performance, often in a short window, and may have value in challenge and speedrun contexts. They also may demonstrate methods to temporarily boost a teams power when they come up against content they cannot currently handle, but don't want to give up.

  • Division 1: Any temp that can be easily stockpiled and ran as part of normal play is legal, lores and inspirations are banned.
    Spoiler

Division 1 intents to demonstrate the maximum possible performance that a player can achieve within a given challenge as part of normal play. While not everything legal here is considered standard practice, there is little to nothing here that cannot be made part of a player's normal routine at max level if they are so inclined. The rule set bans anything requiring extensive farming or cannot be simply bought for influence or other methods that are part of normal play. While this bans temp powers that are mission rewards, it does allow nearly everything in the S.T.A.R.T. vendor.

  • Division 2: Same as Division 1 but pet temp powers like Signature Summons are banned.
    Spoiler

Division 2 addresses a shortcoming of Division 1 in many challenges, that being that the sheer power of pets means that in many challenges the impact of other elements of a build or other types of temp powers can be masked by the pets raw output. Additionally for challenges especially vulnerable to this issue such as the standard Pylon, much of the performance of a run can come down to pet AI and manipulating it, a valuable skill but not necessarily what we always want to test.

  • Division 3: Legacy pylon rules, all temps that effect damage output are banned. Judgment is banned.
    Spoiler

Division 3 is a replication of the standardized pylon rules that have been part of this community for almost as long as the community has existed. There are many failings of this standard, in particular how it is divorced both from normal gameplay and from true isolation of the build's ability. However as an enduring standard, it would be remiss of me to not include a format with such a storied legacy.

  • Division 4: Any power not available in the most restrictive endgame content (currently 4 star hardmode) is banned.
    Spoiler

Division 4 attempts to replicate the restrictions of the current endgame content, that being 4 star advanced difficulty Task Forces. It is limited by the fact that this format does not reflect the impacts a team might have on a given run's performance, but by comparing Division 4 results with Division 2 results, we can generally get a good estimate. I am considering a Division that allows team buffs but no damage done by teammates, but that will be something that needs development, stay tuned. Additionally as most players choose not to make use of temp powers of their own choice, Division 4 is also arguably the most applicable to casual play.

  • Division 5: No temps or incarnates that provide anything but defense, resistance and hp, this includes no endurance tools
    Spoiler

Division 5 is the result of conversations with some of the Homecoming team. This ruleset target focuses the powersets of a build themselves, allowing good data on a build without all of the extra tools available to an end game build. Additionally it puts a spotlight on endurance efficiency, a performance metric that is easily patched with the tools available in all prior divisions.

  • Division 6: All powers obtained from sources other than leveling up are banned.
    Spoiler

Division 6 takes Division 5 to the extreme. The two are largely identical in most challenges due to have no difference in restrictions that impact damage output. However some challenges inevitably have some element of durability involved. Additionally Division 6 acts as a catch all for anything prior divisions missed. Division 6 is the most likely to be changed or removed in the future but for now it stands as the limit, the most restricted division there is.

Pylon/Dummy Times

  • Solo kill a Vanguard Training Pylon in the RWZ or the dummy summoned by the Mobile Dummy Combatant accolade power from Dr. Aeon (The new RWZ overhaul has added these pylons next to the base)
  • You may not have outside help that in any way effects your damage output with the exception of endurance. No accuracy, recharge or damage buffs. (This includes passive buffs such as Stalker crit or Kheldian inherits)
  • No banned powers may be used.
  • You must specify if your Hybrid is used actively (clicked)
  • You must specify how many runs if submitting an average.
  • You MUST provide a mids build (file or datachunk preferred) to have your record submitted, no build secrets here. If you cannot use mids, you may submit the contents of a /buildsavefile
  • Time starts at the first point of damage dealt, and ends when the pylon/dummy is destroyed.
  • Bonus points for a video.
  • Pet users if possible please provide a combat log from Carnifax or Cyclops so I may calculate the difference in pet performance that purple patch would apply against an AV. Your time will be listed as is regardless, but a secondary time showing effect vs a true AV will also be included if a combat log is provided.
  • Runs on the test server are valid provided they do not make use of any changes currently being tested, or the changes used are promoted to live. Should
  • Please declare whether the run is sustainable or not. A run is consisted sustained if it can be maintained for a full two minutes.

Office Mission Times

  • Solo clear Galaxy Brain's Office Mission Simulator (Arc ID: 57885, Test Server Arc ID: 23878)
  • Difficulty must be +0x8, if people submit multiple +4x8s I'll add a sheet for it.
  • You may not have any other characters on the map.
  • No banned powers may be used.
  • You must specify if your Hybrid is used actively (clicked)
  • You must specify how many runs if submitting an average.
  • You MUST provide a mids build to have your record submitted, no build secrets here. If you cannot use mids, you may submit the contents of a /buildsavefile
  • Time starts when you finish loading into the mission and ends when the missions completes and you are allowed to exit.
  • Bonus points for a video.
  • Runs on the test server are valid provided they do not make use of any changes currently being tested, or the changes used are promoted to live.

Posting an update on this

Most recent time was 58 seconds as of about 5 minutes ago.

Worth noting I have the 9% damage buff from the end of Dream Doctors story arc, I tried to remove it but I'm not able and I can't really wait it out since its 120 hours of in game time and I'm only able to spend 3 to 4 hours in game at a time. If you remove that I would still be at 59 seconds.

I can post some of the times I’ve written down later if you want to add them to your spreadsheet.

EDIT: I don’t have Mids builds nor do I know what issue/page the runs were done under though. They would be on the page or two before 4* ITF came out, since that’s when I started building with Barrier instead of Ageless, among other changes.

EDIT 2: Also I think the runs were mostly if not all done with Amplifiers on. Gah I should’ve taken better notes.

I’ll search the other Pylon thread for my posts which should fill in the gaps.

I need to clarify the rule set more, im partial to allowing easily obtained and functionally permeable temp powers because the ban on them was more about establishing baselines or otherwise making the tests fair back on live. HCing is a different beast. If you cant nail down the time or version thats fine, we can do unknown.

The build however is 100% needed as thats the primary purpose of this, sharing builds and techniques to explore the limits of the system.

Oh well, no builds here. Mac user so no Mids. And the spreadsheets I used to set them up are long gone.

Pylon

84 seconds - Peacebringer.
100 seconds... Peacebringer.

84 seconds was a one off. I did 9 more runs, and with a new build. Lowest was 93, but averaged out was a bout 100 seconds.
I don't have it in me to grind more at the moment, my timing feels real off at the moment. Might revisit later.

Same boat here, but I would assume a /buildsavefile arcanebuild.txt would do the trick.

Below are results for both a pylon run and an office mission run, another kind of run, and a few ideas to consider are also offered ...

Run types: pylon defeat, office mission run, ITF challenge

Archetype: dominator

Primary powerset: plant

Secondary powerset: fiery assault
Mastery / Patron: fire mastery

Time in seconds: 241 (4:01, 287 DPS), 373 (6:13), failed first ITF challenge run, then 23:58

Hybrid: Melee core hybrid

Other incarnates: Cardiac core alpha, Barrier core destiny, Degen core interface, Pyronic core judgment used only for ITF challenge, no use of lore for any run
 - Barrier and hybrid used freely for pylon defeat and ITF challenge, barrier used once at the start for the office mission, hybrid never activated for office run, passive effects only

Notes: No use of inspirations, temp powers, clicky accolades, or amplifiers for any runs. Also, no way this build was operating at its ceiling in my hands. Made lots of mistakes picking the order of attacks to use for pylon defeat, was hovering through the office mission and taking my time lining up the cone for seeds. First time running the office mission, as well. Also, one runner with a sliver of life that I didn't notice was a floor down from the final office mission floor and about 25 seconds was added to the time to find and defeat him. The ITF challenge is something I've done fairly often, and so the second run wasn't quite as filled with errors.

The office mission is a breath of fresh air after many Trapdoor runs. It's just more fun to run. One opinion only, of course, FWIW.

The ITF challenge was failed the first time after I put my dominator too close to the ground in a big crowd of Cimerorans and a defeat ensued shortly after that. That was a bit of a brain fart. The second run went better. The first mission took about 14 minutes, which is pretty slow for the first mission. Hovering makes setting the camera right challenging in cave sections that have low ceilings, which contributed to making mission 1 slower. Repeated use of seeds wore down crowds, though. In contrast, the second mission had the best map (one long cave with no backtracking needed). Also, it was possible to use seeds, creepers, and spirit tree to keep aggro manageable and to focus fire down each shadow cyst along the way to the end of the mission.

Ideas for timing and reporting ...

When to start timing: Timing started when casting seeds for the office mission. Fly trap was already out at the start of the pylon run and the office mission since having the T9 pet out is pretty common at the start of a mission for dominators and controllers (obviously MMs as well). Creepers were not out when starting any of the runs, as that seems like an "in combat" cast. Perhaps the "pet" details aren't really needed for reporting purposes. But, probably the use of controls should be a good time to start timing the office mission, along with when damage is done to mobs, especially for seeds or other confusion powers because of how they affect mob AI.

What to report: The mastery chosen can have a noticeable effect on clear times, particular for dominators. Ice mastery would have sped up the pylon run and the office run, but might have made it a bit harder to meet the "no defeats" condition for the ITF challenge, for example. It's just a request for one extra bit of information for those scanning posts and trying to compare the same primary and secondary combinations. Also, it could be useful (and standard) to have incarnates indicated in the build supplied with the post. The incarnate choices made for this build might surprise some, for example, and it helps for understanding performance differences across runs.

The ITF challenge can, perhaps, be viewed as an add-on optional run to report about for those who want to take on a harder challenge. There are a fair number of players I know (myself included) who sometimes solo the first two missions of the ITF at +4x8, bosses appear, no inspirations, no temp powers, no amplifiers, no clicky accolades, and no defeats allowed as a measuring stick for their builds. For most builds it is not an easy run. But, all ATs have completed Master of ITF runs solo and so the first two missions are doable for all ATs, for a fair cross-section of endgame builds. Also, if the mission objectives can be cleared while meeting the conditions in something less than a very long period of time then you've got a really solid build on your hands, capable of taking on a lot of content. FWIW, I started timing the ITF challenge as my dominator started moving inside the first mission doorway.

It seems the forum format is not importing into mids correctly, i will manually reproduce if necessary but would it be possible for you to provide the datachunk?

Edit - I have manually imported the build and added the datachunk to the sheet

84 seconds - Peacebringer.
100 seconds... Peacebringer.

84 seconds was a one off. I did 9 more runs, and with a new build. Lowest was 93, but averaged out was a bout 100 seconds.
I don't have it in me to grind more at the moment, my timing feels real off at the moment. Might revisit later.

New Doom Peacebringer (Luminous Blast - Luminous Aura).mbd

I included both times if that's okay
